View Full Version : You knew you are a fan when.....?
When was the moment when you knew you are truely hooked on Buffy? When did you felt that you can't wait 'til the next episode will air? Please Share!
I allways watched buffy, ever since it came to Israel I watched it. But then the stupid channle stoped airing Buffy in the end of season 3. I was about 6 or 7. in 2005 i managed to watch all the episodes and i was thrilled!.. I think it was in the arc of angelos coming back in season 2. that's when i realised buffy was the best tv show i could ever see!.
And again sorry about the lame english!

Came really lately for me because until season 6, Buffy was just a TV show I liked, but watching the season 6, wow!! Exactly what I expected: evolution (unlike Charmed and Smallville), characters becoming grown-ups, plots being more mature, the all show becoming more dark and more realistic. I can't tell a precise moment but I remember being really hooked at the end of Tabula Rasa, when Buffy and Spike kissed...I was dying to see them together, so I was so thrilled when it actually happened....Voilą

My cousin gave me books on buffy thats when i got hooked and i bought the dvds and have been hooked ever scince im an young fan, i only got into it e late last year but doesnt mean i dont love it :)
The first episode I was really able to sit down and watch from the beginning was Season 4's Primeval. When Buffy told Adam " You could never hope to grasp the source of our power. But yours is right here," as she pulls out the uranium core through his chest, I knew the show was special. And since it will take another year for the next season to be aired here, I searched for the DVDs of earlier seasons and when I saw Seaons 1,2 and 3, I was swept away, and hooked and never recovered.

I was a Sarah fan before I was a Buffy fan, I watched her on AMC as Kendall and it broke my heart when she left and it was hard for me to accept her as Buffy because I loved Kendall so much. But when I saw her in Who Are You giving Spike the "speech" in the Bronze I was amazed. Then I saw some Spuffy episodes in the sixth season and I was stunned at their chemistry.

I was a Buffy fan when I first saw it. It would have been Inca Mummy Girl I think, although I recall switching over to BBC 2 one night when I was 6 and Welcome to the Hellmouth was aired. Unfortunatly for me, it was the bit where Luke jumped into the tomb. I was so scared! I was six though. I remember then watching Inca Mummy Girl a year later, when I got hooked. I then watched re-runs of the show of Season 1 til I was up to date.
I also remember this one night, it was the night Killed by Death aired, and I was yelling at my mum because I was going to miss it and she wouldn't turn over the channel. She then reminded me that I had a TV and ariel in my room. *wipes eye* Great times.
And that's my story. Thats the story of Hannah and her Buffy-watching antics. Thank you for reading, I'll be here all weekend :p

Season 2 when Spike showed up with Dru... I've always like the vampire genre films, etc. I wasn't as hooked on it as I am LOST - I don't think any show has had me as hooked as LOST has - yet!!
But in S4 when Spike joined the show I was pretty regular and during S6 and 7 I didn't miss many - they were usually being taped if I couldn't watch them in person.

Oh, this one time, At Band Camp  :p during Season 6, I taped most of them. I remember I came home thinking it was finished. I turned on the TV, and I realized the episode, Seeing Red, was on...and it was the moment Tara died. I just stood in the middle of the room, crying my eyes out!
I may be going off topic, but on the subject of Seeing Red, I don't remember the AR scene being that graphic...then again, I was still young and innocent...
Back on topic, I knew I was in love with Buffy in Season 5. Everything was so perfect. Perfect storylines and lighting and characters...that's when I knew...I have loved Buffy for five years...now I love it even more. I'm a Buffy Junkie.
And there is another fan-tabulous story by Hannah :p

I can't remember the first episode I watched. The earliest that I remember watching are in Season 3, being The Zeppo and Season 4, those being Living Conditions and Hush. Come to think of it, the first episode I ever watched may have very well have been on of the ones I just mentioned. :)

I knew I was hooked after I watched "Angel" - "Maybe I don't need a friend" - "I didn't say I was YOURS...." "Welcome to the Hellmouth" Blisfully happy obsessive fangirl ever since!
I saw a preview for Buffy returning for its 5th Season. It was her fighting Dracula. I thought the action looked immense so I tuned in and was hooked ever since. The action drew me in but the drama and genious kept me indulged. I had every DVD And Video released with in 2 months. One word, "hooked".
I knew I was fan of Buffy and would always watch it, when I had to watch the season finale of season one in black and white with no sound. It was past my bed time and my mom said I couldn't watch it (I was like eleven). So i closed my bedroom door and watched it with no sound so she couldn't hear it. Needless to say...I was hooked..lol.

I was hooked from the very first episode, the very first time it aired here in Australia. I was seven years old and remember thinking how amazingly cool the Master and Luke looked, I enjoyed the humour although I wouldn't have understood half of it, loved seeing SMG kick arse and had quite a crush on her. Ever since then the show has kept me hooked, in about 6th grade I bought my first boxset but became overly obsessive as I am now around 8th grade. I'm in my first year of university now and am still as obsessed as ever, perhaps even more so now than I was back then. :)

I've learnt from my friend too. My friend was an addict and she watched through all the seasons. In Turkey, after the real air dates the channel started to publish the show again, for the second time. One day, she and her family came our home and she was like "turn on the TV! BUFFY!!" It was the first or the second episode of the season one, fortunetly. We watched together but I didn't impress me very much, It was Ok. Then I decided to watch the show by myself and became an addict!

I knew I was a fan, or at least a potential fan from the first episode I saw which was Season 2 'halloween'. Then I kept on watching until the very end. I missed a few episodes of season 6 and I was devestated!! Then later...way later, I bought season 6 on DVD, then season 4, then seasons 2 & 3, and then, season 5, and after that season 7 and finally, season 1. I was so proud of myself. It was the first ever show that I had had all the DVDs for, and then I couldn't stop collecting... anyway...
I knew I was a Buffy fanatic when i started using buffyspeak everywhere, and my friends got really annoyed, coz they thought i was really funny and witty but it turned out i was just quoting buffy lol.

I caught 'Passion' on the old BBC2 late night repeats. Angelus, Spike, Giles, Buffy in that ep, the intensity ... how could I not have been hooked? I instantly went out and bought the VHSs of S1 and S2 (how long ago was this?!)
I think the first Angel episode I saw was 'Retribution' on Channel 5 repeats. I was amazed, as I thought 'Ooh look, it's David Boreanaz, that guy from Buffy! How cool! How did he get his own show?' Then the end titles informed me it was called ... Angel. So finally the penny dropped. *Rolls eyes* Kinda gave away the ending of S3 Buffy though ...

I can honestly say I was hooked from the word go. I caught the ending of 'Welcome To The Hellmouth' and was instantly left wondering how on the earth that girl was gonna get out of that sticky situation. And I was, what? 7-8 at the time?! :O So I've pretty much been a fan for 10 years or so. And my love for the show has just grown and grown. I never really knew how much of an impact the show would have on me though.. from such a young age, I just knew I was onto a winner.

Saw it from the first episode, and liked it, but I didn't become hooked until I saw Passion. Holy hell, that is one of the finest hours of television ever aired. After that, there was no way I could ever turn back. Loved it. Evil Angel was the best.

i saw once more with feeling first than hush than the first ep and i liked them but i wasn't really obsessed with it....i just really liked it and i guess season 1 ep 8 i was so desparate to watch it i skipped muic practic....guilty...but worth it ^.^
I knew I was a fan when I saw Buffy's Wonderbra enhanced rack in a season one rerun during 2002. I'm not even kidding. I was in 7th grade when I started watching, so it's not like I was looking for intellectual stimulation in my television shows. All I really wanted was asses being kicked and hot chicks. As time went on, I appreciated everything else about it, too. Even though the current program was into it's sixth season at the time, I watched all the episodes in order through morning reruns.
I remember I was immediately a fan of Xander's ongoing struggles in the high school years, being that he was the only relatable male for a young boy, with Giles being an authority figure, Oz not really a focal point, and Angel being Angel. I still to this day think that BtVS Angel was an incredibly boring personality-less character; he was pretty much the equivalent of a romance novel hero named Rahoul. However, I'm a massive fan of Angel in his LA years. Very cool character once separated from Buffy.

I was pretty lucky as I caught Buffy right from episode one on it's first airing here in the UK. I had no idea that there even was a television series at the time so when I saw it listed on Sky One I figured the movie was about to come on and being a fan (hey, it's not THAT bad ;)) I left it to come on. It was a real surprise to see the show come on instead.
I think I was hooked about three minutes into the first episode, around the time we first saw Darla vamp out. Classic television moment. After that I never missed an episode of either Buffy or Angel right the way through to Not Fade Away. Ask any of my mates over the years and they will tell you that no matter what was happening in the real world, if there was a new episode of Buffy or Angel on that night, I was staying in, hehe.

Yeah I got hooked when I saw Darla vamp out also.
I got more into it really during Season 4 when we meet Tara, then onto Season 6.
But when she died I didnt know where to put myself.:(
