Avatar Requests and Help

To get an avatar you need to go your User CP (link on the left above the forums) and select 'edit avatar' from the options on the left. Then either browse for the avatar on your computer or enter the location of it online and click 'save changes'.

Your avatar can be 100x100 pixels and 100kb in size.

If you need any help resizing your avatar or would like to ask if someone would custom make one for you please ask in here :)

Okay, so I've been trying to make my own avatars and it's been going fairly well but when I tried putting them on here it said it was too big. Now it is less than 100kb and it's exactly 100x100. Did the avatar sizes allowed change since this was posted? When I tried saving it it said it exceeds 48.8 (which it does). Do I need to be a premium member or something to get the 100kb for an avatar? There's different things being posted all over the forum. One said it couldn't be larger than 10000 bytes. I'm sorry but all the avatars that I've put up were more than 10000 bytes and they worked so I don't know if the 10,000 is supposed to be 100,000?! If you know of any way to make them smaller or you have any feedback for me, it would be greatly appreciated! It's an animated/moving avatar if that makes a difference. :D

hi, you can't have a moving avatar until you are a premium member (explains in the FAQ) so i made you a still avatar. it was a struggle but i got almost everyone one, apart from kenedy sorry :) anyway hope you still like it, if you don't it's ok! :)

Actually, that would be both fanart theft and plagiarism which is not something encouraged in the fanart community. I would suggest contacting the original artist, which I can see in the photobucket adress is BlueyMcPhluey (http://www.buffyforums.net/forums/member.php?u=134). first go to UserCP
next, click on Edit Avatar
Next, try clicking the circle DO NOT USE AN AVATAR
Click Save Changes

This should remove your current avatar.

To add a new one, you can do it one of two ways. You can paste the link from another site in the option 1 space.

OR

If the avatar is saved to your computer, click the BROWSE button in the option 2 space, find your avatar on your computer and hit OPEN.

Before you save, you must click on the USE CUSTOM AVATAR circle, then Click on Save Changes.

If you're still getting a failure message, then it could be a number of things, depending on if you are trying to link it or upload it from your computer. I find it's usually easier to save the avatar you want to your hard drive and then upload it because linking from another site can be tricky, especially if the other site removes the avatar. Plus nobody likes giving up bandwidth....:p

I've knocked this up for you. You didn't really specify much what you wanted, so it's not exactly my finest work. If it's not what you were thinking then I can have another go:-

BTW, right click it and save to your computer then you'll be able to add it as your avater in the USER CP section.
