Agreed. As Buffy even states to Willow, she's not "mumma's little girl anymore" and that's great, Dawn's become a really mature, vital member of the group, I'm really enjoying her actually and as much as I adore Buffy's character it'll be nice to see if Dawn stands up to her as an equal.
I also agree about Buffy's little tension/resentment towards Willow regarding the Dawn situation. Buffy and Willow's relationship has many, many layers this season, you never know what to expect from them. There's plenty of scenes showing Willow still cares for Buffy, hugging her, calling her, her best friend, coming to comfort her after Aiko's death, wanting her back, just to name a few. *But* there's also tension between them. Willow's not happy with how Buffy's been running things, she's been quite snarky to Buffy. And not only did the Buffy/Satsu fling create more tension it even added an element of sexuality to their relationship with Willow inadvertently being angry at Buffy that she didn't choose her to experiment with. And as you say Dawn’s attachment to Willow only adds fuel to the fire. It's fascinating.
It most definitely is. Something I found especially interesting during a recent re-read is in the first arc when Willow is on the astral plane talking to those five elementals. She says that a part of Buffy is always with her, literally, and then she proceeds to speak and act through Buffy. That's, um, new.

I don't concede that that's why Willow was upset -- I think her conversation with Satsu gave the best insight into Willow's feelings. She thought Buffy was a tourist, a "lezfaux", like Kennedy called her, and that she was setting Satsu up to be hurt.
I think Buffy *thinking* (even if she's wrong) that something is starting between Xander and Dawn would be the perfect hook for Buffy to finally decide to be the one that pursues. And while, since it would lead to the exquisite beauty and superior awesome of Buffy/Xander, would be best -- it's just one way in. Buffy-as-pursuer is definitely something we haven't seen before and I think it would be pretty awesome. Incidentally, my own theory about Buffy's "meeting" in New York would take that on as well -- that she was meeting Riley for information (whether he's Twilight or not is irrelevant), and decided she'd also try to make an impression, maybe even come on to him (whether he's still married or not, perhaps).

Haha I think I might be the only person that really doesn't want Buffy and Xander together. Soo many people think it would be good but I just can't see it happening. It would make more sense when they were in high school, but now after the relationships and things they've gone through, it just doesnt make sense in my opinion. Although I think the unrequited love idea is awesome for Buffy, I dont think it should be someone that is normal. I think that whole idea that she could be with a normal guy or attempt to live a normal life since there are so many slayers now is dead and buried. That being said, I think she needs to find someone thats somewhat unattainable, as she was to most of her boyfriends, yet she's still drawn to and can challenge her.
1) What did you like best about the Buffy/Giles relationship? What did you like the least?
I loved how their relationship developed into a strong bond that eventually the father/daughter thing was there. Even when Giles wasn't her watcher, they were still close and treated each other the same. I didn't like Giles setting Buffy up to have Spike killed behind her back. It was just ridiculous no matter what his opinion was of Spike, he knew he was important to Buffy and if he cared for her, he shouldn't have done that.
2) Is Buffy a girl you'd be friends with in real life?
I think we could be. I would be off put by her when we met but I think she's the type of person that once you get to know them, you can be really close.
3) Buffy will eventually get a new relationship. What kind of relationship do you want for her this time?
Like I said, the unrequited love idea is really good. However, I still want Spike to come back. They left their relationship on such a crucial point, like in Chosen when Buffy is talking to Spike about the night before, she starts to say maybe after this whole thing they could figure it out and finally be together but noo Joss had to kill him  Anyway, I just think it would be odd for her to move on to a new relationship without at least talking to Spike before hand.

Personally I don't think Buffy was ever planning on getting into a relationship with Spike should he have survived. That's basically what she's saying in 'Chosen' to Angel, "that she's not done baking" that she needs some time to find herself, that after she's discovered who she is then she can look for a relationship. She didn't want one with anyone at that point in time.
I think it was good that Buffy came to this realisation. She actually came to it during the fifth season in 'I Was Made To Love You' after Riley left, but circumstances resulted in her sleeping with Spike in season six after coming back from the dead and than she was caught in all of that mess. It was good to see her come back to that in season seven and realise she never did discover who she was and she needs to before trying to get into another relationship.
As far as we know, she had a whole year and a half by herself between season seven and eight, which is good for Buffy.
My ideal relationship for her now (not that she needs one mind you) is an unrequited love where she has to do the chasing for a change. With a guy who's human but aware of the fact she's a slayer so she doesn't have to lie about that side of herself. I’d pick Angel given his new situation but it wouldn’t be very unrequited as he’d most likely jump at the chance if he sorted his life out, so I think it’d be neat to be Xander and do a role reversal between the both of them.

1) What did you like best about the Buffy/Giles relationship? What did you like the least?
I liked that they had a mutual respect for each other, and the kind of father/daughter relationship they shared.
I didn't like how Buffy treated Giles sometimes, and how Giles sometimes tried to restrict her.
2) Is Buffy a girl you'd be friends with in real life?
I'm not too sure. She has some good qualities that you look for in a friendship, like how she'd risk anything for the people she loves, she can laugh and have fun and she's intelligent. But we're both really stubborn so we'd probably clash there, and she jumps in without thinking things through a lot of the time whereas I like to plan things out and know what's happening.
3) Buffy will eventually get a new relationship. What kind of relationship do you want for her this time?
Well I've been reading what other people have been saying on this matter and I completely have to disagree with the whole Buffy/Xander thing. I think that'd be the most predictable, boring thing they could do. It's just like they've exhausted all the other options so let's just throw in the old cliched best friend relationship. I don't like the idea of an unrequited love much either, but to have her just single and playing the field for awhile could be good. I would eventually love to see her and Angel back together though.
Haha my boyfriend said Buffy and Oz could be interesting..any comments there?? :p

That would have been really nice actually! Have you seen Sarah and Seth together? They would have made an adorable couple on the show. I can't say their characters would have meshed very well but then again who knows. I mean Buffy was into Angel and he was quiet and didn't say much which is sort of what Oz was like. Plus if what everyone says about Buffy is true (about her needing a little monster in her man :p ) Oz would fit that bill too! Werewolf + Slayer = ulitmate carnage when patrolling. Yes, werewolves are only supposed to be, you know, wolfie during full moons but we saw Oz change during a non-full moon so..... it could work. :D
