Angelus but i voted for Angel bcuz you didnt add him to the list, why Angelus simply bcuz he's tottally different than Angel he got a huge ego & convident in himself & he's ability to destroy which is very true.

I like the fact that he use the facts to used them against others & minpulate it to his advantage,He's so smart & EVIL.

I don't know... I never really had a fave out of the characters on Buffy, I really loved them all.

I voted for Oz though because I always thought he was cool and I just really liked him for the way he behaved.

I also considered Willow my fave at one point and I think perhaps she was the closest I had to a fave character because her evolution was just impressive to me and early on I loved how cute and sweet she was :p

I also really loved Anya because she was such a refreshing addition to the show and I loved her straighforwardness (or cluelessness, whatever you like to cal it) :D

I voted Xander. Duh.

He interests me the most because he's the normal one among supernatural people, and his personality is very true to life. He's not a saint, that's why I like him.

Who do I choose...buffy or spike or giles or xander or willow or angelus or all of them. It's really a hard choice because I love different aspects of them all. Buffy for obvious reasons. Giles for that stiff upper British lip he had....Spike because he was soo damn funny and he made you hate him in the beginning then love him towards the end. Xander for the way he was everyone's rock. Williow because she..well she's Willow. Angelus because he was soo bad and cruel. Man I can't decide.

I'll just plump for Buffy

I voted for Oz, but I was torn between him, Cordelia, Anya and Faith.

The reason I chose Oz was because he was pretty awesome, I mean he didn't really talk much, but his actions could really mean a lot (when he wrecks the cauldron for the spell in Choices) and also when he did have something to say it was usually deep and meaningful. I mean, in Earshot when Buffy's listening to his thoughts he's the deepest of them all and in Amends when he describes to Willow how it felt when they weren't together.

I thought the whole werewolf thing was great too, but I didn't really like the whole Veruca/Oz thing in season 4 and not only because it resulted in his departure.

But yeah, he was probably the coolest character ever.

The reason I chose Cordelia and Anya was because they were both quite similar except Cordelia was so much more materialistic and shallow than Anya. I loved Cordelia's bitchiness, I thought it was awesome and pretty funny. That's probably why I liked Anya as a comedic character too because although she wasn't bitch she was extremely blunt and completely tactless which was great.

And Faith was just such an awesome character. From good to evil to good again, it was a great 360 that she did. I really liked her development on the shows though, I think it would've been good to have seen or heard more about her background and possibly how her watcher actually died.

Too hard to choose!!! I went for Xander though because reading the comic reminded me how much I love him. :) Although I was also tempted to vote for Spike, Oz and Riley. huh...all guys. Weird. :/

Gotta be Willow for me.

One of the themes I've always loved about Buffy is empowerment. When the show started, it was all about "girl power", but as it matured into itself, it was about EVERYONE evolving, taking control of their lives and maturing into who they were meant to be. This included the so called "grown ups", too - e.g. Giles and Jenny. Angel ran off to LA to become the Champion he was meant to become.

For me, Willow personifies this theme - evolution and transformation from geeky girl to magical goddess (who still wants to go to the mall!).

In some ways i tend to think that Willow evolved too much from the begining of the show to the end as when you think about the changes its just abit to unrealistic for a persons to change that much in under 7 years. Dont get me wrong Willow is one of my favourite characters ut i do think her evolutions was abit to quick to be believable.

Next would be Oz... I miss Oz.:s

I have far too many favorites, but I would have to say that it goes like this:

Willow
Spike
Giles
Buffy
Tara

And, if it counts, I adore Miss Kitty Fantastico. I'm a huge cat person and she was so adorable! I just wished they would have explained where she went!

I voted for Buffy because she was the most complete character and amazing at the end, but I want to give a point to Willow because she was the character who evolved the most and I love that about a character...and Andrew of course...still waiting for Andrew the Vampire Slayer by th way...

I remember when we had the similar post back at BWF, I voted for Buffy, but that was almost 2 years ago and my POV changed slightly. So now I voted for Angel. I know many people find him selfish and *insert a proper word*. Yes, he made mistakes in his life, but even champions have the right to fail. Angel is a funny/gloomy/luring/lurking character, and that's only the helf of the things that I love about him ;)

I would have to say Anya. Anya is the best of the best, the just has it all. She's pretty, funny, and honest and I love that about her. She always says things that people are thinking but never say. I'm like that too so thats why i think I like Anya the most out of all the character. She is the best!:2party:

1. Buffy - the hero, but with her own issues as well. She sometimes fails, but never stops fighting. An excellent example of humanity and human perseverance. It just can't get any better than this.
2. Willow - nerd to insecure yet growing high school senior to identity-searching Wiccan to devoted lover to magic addict to grieving villain to woman on a search for redemption to goddess...tell me that's not excellent character development. In the words of Xander, she's come pretty far. You can't help but know exactly what she's thinking and feeling at any moment.
3/4, tied. Xander and Dawn - The two with no powers who still do all they can to help despite having to deal with their own lives. Dawn probably gets higher in the rankings than she would otherwise because she's closer to my age, but Xander never stops fighting, just like Buffy, in fact for Buffy. Even though she rejected him back in season 1, and he obviously still has some feelings for her, he doesn't leave because of this and stays as an excellent friend.
5/6, tied. Anya and Riley. Anya, because she is always questioning societal norms on their usefulness, always being blunt and valuing truth and fact. Riley, to me, changed a whole lot. He was at first the obedient little soldier boy. But as he tried to figure out Buffy, and realized what she was doing, he learned to stop obeying blindly ("I'm an anarchist." and pulling the obedience chip out) and act on his own. He was also very healthy for Buffy as a boyfriend and I appreciate him for that.

Cordelia - Merely meant to be a foil to Buffy's hero, she became a rich character with many layers. Her humorous and witty remarks often appearing vapid on the surface actually held a lot of wisdom or thoughts worth contemplating.

Buffy - Her courage and willingness to forgo her own fleeting desires in an effort to make the world better for all always endeared me. Later years when she became depressed, clouded in judgment and unable to make choices really turned me away from the character.

Angel - An interesting notion, a slayer in love with a vampire could only work if the vampire had any redeeming qualities. His utter devotion to Buffy, yet respect to let her make her own risky choices was why I loved Angel. I also appreciated how out of touch he was with the world and that Buffy was the more knowledge of the two in that respect at least. Having two distinct personalities added a sharp character dynamic Spike didn't have.

As you can see from my fave characters, the first 3 seasons were my favorites.

I love all characters in a way or another. But if I really have to pick one I'll go with Buffy. I admire her. She's amazing. Her strength, her courage, even her flaws and mistakes. She's just so human... My second character would be Riley, because I think he was good for Buffy and for some other reasons I won't go into in here right now :p

I voted Tara, traditionally I have loved her best and longest... these days I seem to be identifying a lot more with both Anya and Buffy... but when I came down to a vote I couldn't do anything but play it 'safe' and go with my long time fave.
Why I like Tara? She's the one you'd want to actually meet in real life, who wouldn't be intimidating- much like Andrew.
Why I like Anya? She's straightforward, and likes sex and talking about it... it's just fun this way ;) by which I mean, when Buffy first has sex it's disasterous and it's refreshing to see sex be so candidly part of a character's, well, character.
Why I like Buffy? Because she always tries, even when she doesn't understand the how or why.

course I like B... the show is about her and it's her story we all identify with. And I love all of 'verse characters.

But one of my all time faves that no one talks about is... Darla. All that experience... all that dark knowledge... and a schoolgirl outfit. Yum!

This poll as restored my faith that the fandom actually does like Buffy, I'm so happy :D

Buffy is my favourite character for me without a doubt. She has given up so much for the people around her, was forced into a world that she really didn't belong to and in the end came out stronger and the better for it. I respect each of her decisions immensely and believe she's had a harder life than most of the characters on the show and deserves to be cut some slack with some fans. I find her portrayal by far the most interesting, unique and realistic and all of her actions are 100% understandable to me.

I love Buffy from how hot she is, to how damn right violent she can be, to how sympathetic and caring she is to the people around her and right down to her superiority and inferiority complex. IMO she grew more than any other character on either show, more than Cordy, Wes or Willow and her character growth didn’t feel forced or out of place.

Buff all the way! :)

I voted for Spike. It's the character I relate to the most (well, except the blood-sucking-murderer and world-saving-champion parts, of course %)). I admire the fact that he is such a dork, yet a true hero at the same time. IMO his story, his journey is the biggest on both shows; he's changed the most and I've been facsinated watching him evolve from a nerd to a monster to a love's bitch to a champion. I also think that his (and Buffy's) love story is one of the most thrilling romances I've ever seen on the screen :)

I think one of the great things about this show is that all the characters were likeable in some way, each character played their part and helped make the show what it is.

I voted for Faith myself. I just loved her from her first appearance... she had attitude and spunk, she was exciting to watch and there was just something about her that hooked me. It was so compelling to see the contrast between her and Buffy, at first to watch her influence on Buffy and then in later episodes to see Faith go down the road less travelled, to become a rogue slayer. Faith's Season 3 arc was one of my personal favourite storylines in the whole show. For me I also thought it was sort of metaphorical for a rebellion type phase some teens go through - where they land themselves in lots of trouble and I could relate to that. There was also something wonderful and intriguing about her relationship with the Mayor, seeing the villains have these relationships and care for other people just made them seem more realistic and likeable.

It was also just incredible seeing how she developed and grew, how she finally got on the path to redemption, it was such a natural and believable progression. I liked how it showed that no matter how far you've gone in the wrong direction, you can always get back on the right path.

Along with Faith, Buffy herself was my favourite. She was powerful, strong and commanding, yet she had a vulnerable side to her also that was just very endearing. Buffy was by no means perfect, she made many mistakes and she had many flaws... but that's why I loved her. Despite her flaws she had an inner strength, she always picked herself right back up after a fall and even though she struggled with her duties, with the responsibilities, the fear, disappointements and insecurities... she always put all those things inside and did the right thing. She also had a killer sense of humor - I'd love her for her little quips alone! :D

I voted Spike. Spike is my all time favourite character, followed by Buffy, followed by, actually it would be Glory. :s

Spike - He is hot, he is bad, he can sing :D What is not to like? I love all of Spike's storylines, from the Bad Spike in season 2, to the loved-up Spike in Season 5, to the Soulled Spike in Season 7, and of course, I love him in Season 4 and 6 too :p

Buffy - I just liked her character, how she evolved, how she got through bad times...I thought that she was 'believable', SMG portrayed Buffy so well.

Glory - I loved Glory as a character. Apart from being the Big Bad, I loved her sarcasm, she was quite funny, she was entertaining to watch.

Dawn Summer. I love her character's evolution. In Season 5 she was a child, in Season 6 she was a teenager, and in Season 7 she became an adult.

My fave Buffy characters..

1: Cordelia
2: Faith
3: Andrew.

1: Cordelia: Because she was just pure class and brilliant.

2: Faith: She kicked ass! What more can i say. plus i personaly think she was the better slayer out of her and Buffy.

3: Andrew: He just made season 7 for me. I loved him!

Awww, I feel bad that nobody has picked Giles yet...he's definitely up there on my list. I love that initially he was a 'Wesley' type character, but then grew in his watcher role to become more aggressive. I'm not a big fan of Bad Girls, but one scene I love is when Giles & Wes are being held captive, and Giles saved Wesley...that was great. :)

I chose Willow..
because.willow.rules!!!

i think she is a character that grows a lot during the show, she's a really supportive friend, a genius at school and can totally kick every square inch of buffy's ass, as she claims herself..

I think overall it would be Tara for me. She, along with Xander, would be the character I identify with the most. She's sweet, quirky, occasionally mysterious (season 4 mostly) - not to mention the only character I never got the urge to smack or yell at for something they've done or said.

Willow!
because she makes me happy especially in first 4 seasons. she is "silently" powerfull and that is impressive. she is optimistic, happy and successful. I really love "the nerd" Willow. I think the nerd-Willow was the happiest and the cutest one; although she had so many problems with a lot of things during season 6 I still love her. To add more; she completely "adore" Angel!!!
the hot, brave and "the deep" vampire; Angel:p

To chose a favourite charcter is really hard for me...but i think when it comes down to it i've always really liked xander as a character he's always made me laugh and he's saved the world and he doesn't even have any special powers....and he's almost always been there helping buffy and willow in there hard times....and i know he dumped anya at the alter but that makes him normal because people make mistakes but it's how you deal with them that make you who you are and i really love xander for doing the things he does because the show really needs someone like xander...

Buffy without question. What an inspiration and cool concept. One tiny girl in all the world. Got me from the very start. SMG is breathtakingly beautiful too, with the ability to make you cry your eyes out. Buffy is my favorite character of all characters.

Willow for me, although Buffy and Faith aren't far behind.. for different reasons. Can't believe noone has voted for Giles :( Common people! Someone voted for Dawn! :p He's also one of my favourites, along with Xander, Spike and Angel.
I love Willow's development, magic or no magic I think she's great. I don't quite get how a few think her character has gone all the way it's going to go... don't know what show they are watching! (or reading) I like other characters as well, but I find I can relate more to the experiences of Buffy (in perticular... besides the death thing) plus Willow and Xander. Spike and Angel I do love, and couldn't do without in the Buffyverse, but I can't personally relate to their experiences very often.

Woah! Real hard! It was between Anya, Willow, and Faith! All have very interesting aspects to them. I just chose randomly between them ( ) and it turned out to be Faith!

Faith is an amazing character! From the beginning, you know she's scared and helpless, but pretending to be strong. A helpless character is usually a good character :) I loved seeing her progression from helpless to just plain evil. But, it wasn't random! You learn about her bad past, and you know Buffy and her friends are neglecting her. I love seeing her progression, her fighting, her witty attitude, and her path to redemption! And her great response to everything: "Five by five." I really love Faith!

This one was very hard! I picked Willow.Although I LOVE Giles,Spike and of course Buffy :) I picked Willow cause I just love her in the first season and I love watching her change and get over some of her shyness.Plus the fact she comes outta the closet and dates Tara who is also another fave of mine is cool and she has a lot of very cool characters vamp willow, dark willow.

Wow, to have to choose a favorite among the characters of this show? Hmmm...well, I like them all, otherwise I don't think I would have tuned in for seven years and then bought all the books I could get my hands on. But I chose Xander for my favorite.

This was the one member of the group that never really had any power but was integral to the group. He was the "Heart" in the spell in 'Primevil', and they were right on with that. I think that without Xander around the group would have fallen apart. He describes it perfectly in 'Potential' when he said that he sees everything 'cause no one notices. And yet, through it all, he never gave up. He had love and courage and a strength that shone through the joking nerdy exterior he portrayed. I especially loved it when he finally seemed to "grow up" after 'The Replacement' -- it was a nice change for him.

I think i'd have to agree with alot of you here and say Spike.

Whatever role he's played, he's kept true to himself and been a thoroughly versatile character.

I was very tempted to say Buffy, because throughout her journey i've been right there cheering her on. But sometimes she does what we all do, and let our partners rule the relationship. (I didnt like her very much when she was with Riley).

So, Spike it is! =]

Xander won my vote easily. He was the only one of the gang who was nothing more than a human which made him all the more special because even with no special powers he was willing to fight any demon that came his way:badpc:

I picked Cordelia, I loved her. My love for Angel came not really until Ats and my love for Buffy and Xander became less in the UPN seasons. Without season 7, Buffy would be my first pick I guess.
