The comics series is still being produced, so you can't buy a complete complete set, but some of the issues have started coming out in paperback form in the mini arcs. Otherwise... well, I'm not from england, so I can't recommend exactly where to get them from.
And... you can always rewatch!!!

You can buy the comics off 'TFAW.COM' it's the website Darkhorse links and it's safe and reliable and will ship the comics out to you. They're also really good should you have any problems, I've went back and forth with them and they've always been a great help. Or there's always the transcripts on the site that you can check out.

Watch Angel: the Series. It ran from 1999 to 2004 and lasted 5 brilliant seasons. It's very good (many believe it is better than Buffy, including me), very epic, excellent writing and half the story. There are crossovers and many familiar characters and faces between both shows.

You're not living in a big castle with a bunch of teenage girls are you, by any chance...? ;)
Definitely read the comics. But also watch How I met your mother, which has a lot of the same sense of humour as Buffy. Angel's good too, though I don't like it as much as Buffy.
Read Fray, if you fancy some future slayer comics action (you could get that in a normal bookshop I think, Borders if they have that up above the border? :))
And watch The Wire. Absolutely no connection to Buffy, except one of the guys in it once was in a vampire show...but it is AWESOME. :D

Watch Angel and you will fall in love with the characters. All seasons are amazing. Then watch Veronica Mars, itīs my third passion following Buffy and Angel. And you can also wait a few more months and rewatch. Iīve learnt that Buffy gets even better with repeated viewings.

Watching Angel is the first thing you should have on your list.
Even before the comics. There is in fact a few lines in the comics (even in the BtVS ones) that involves stuff from AtS. In fact, there are episodes of BtVS that involve stuff from AtS as well. When you watch both shows together, you'll realize some things you probably missed in BtVS (what Angel was 'apologizing' for in The Yoko Factor is a good example).
Same with the effeminate person named "Fred" on the phone in Lies My Parents Told Me, Spike and Drusilla's conversation about Darla in Crush (also explains why Drusilla has burn makeup on in that episode), Angel's life in Los Angeles with Cordy and Doyle being discussed in Pangs, or when Faith is talking about the mind-walk. BtVS and AtS were separate, but self-referential on both sides. And that little deus ex machina bauble that saved the day in Chosen--it actually has more to do with AtS than BtVS! Faith's story post-season 3 BtVS is more prominent on AtS than BtVS.

Have you seen Firefly and Serenity? That's a good 17 hours of Jossness right there!

I'll say:
1- Watch Angel the show
2- Read Fray (the future slayer)
3- Read Buffy season eight as well as Angel: After the Fall
:)
buffyholic and doubleshiny nailed it. Watch Angel. Then watch Firefly and Serenity (in that order, the movie is spoilerish for some of the plot arc of the show).
Once you've done that, get the Season 8 comics. Also, there are five omnibus volumes of Buffy comics apart from S8 to enjoy (i.e., Volume I (http://www.amazon.com/Buffy-Vampire-Slayer-Omnibus-Vol/dp/159307784X/houseatreides); which includes the pretty much canonical Origin comic that retcons the movie to better fit the series). And Fray, of course.
Veronica Mars is also very good, especially the first season, so you should definitely put it on the list. And I assume you're already watching Heroes.
Once you've caught up on all of that, go back to the beginning and watch Buffy and Angel as broadcast (i.e., go back and forth between them once Angel begins in S4). It's pretty interesting.

You have to check out Veronica Mars, itīs amazing! Amuk is right: you need to see Firefly and then Serenity. Itīs more Joss whedon goodness.

That's what I'm doing too.
Some talented writers online have also done full fanfic seasons with great characterization and stories. Check out the award sites. :)

Dont forget you can also read all the books that go along with BVTS. There are all amazing all in there own! They are little side stories that never got aired but it gives insight to characters that you never got before. And plus... more buffy-ness!

Are those books considered canon?

Watch Angel and you will fall in love with the characters.
Amen to that, buffholic. I've just finished the second season of Angel and already I'm captivated by it. The Host is one of the best characters in the Whedonverse in my opinion. I'm looking forward to hunting down the next three boxsets, before I indulge in the Buffy comics.

Well they do take place in certian season, and it does have all the facts from the show, but what happens in the books don't reflect anything in the show. The books are just extra 'episodes" that were never aired to me. Most of the books give you insight on certain characters that you never got before. I think by reading alot of the buffy books i understand alot of the characters better.
The books aren't canon, they're just stories created to fill the gaps between some episodes. I personally don't read them, but surely the insight you're getting into the characters is what the author wants you to see and not, necessarily, what the writers on the show wanted?
To me, I see them as strict fanfic where they follow the show quite well, but also stray away from it a bit. The only reason they're not just fanfic is because of how they keep the relationships together and don't have Cordelia and Willow hooking up or Xander and Spike.

I havenīt read the comics either. But Iīd rather consider "Chosen" as the official ending to the series.

With very few exceptions I've disliked the official books myself. I prefer to read fanfic as the writers I like to read seem of a higher quality then, lets say, Nancey Holders offerings. *shudder*
The only book that really got my attention was 'The Lost Slayer' which was a riveting series of books done almost like the old 'penny dreadfuls' of yesteryear and which were serialized over a period of a few months.

I applaud the "lost slayer" couldnt put it down. I will say there def are stupid books related to buffy (aka chaos bleeds) but there are some great ones( Go ask malice). They do indeed bend the buffyverse reality, but i think they are fun, and treat them as strict fanfic.

Apart from all the other suggestions, don't forget to track down Dr Horrible's Sing-along Blog too.
And by the time you've watched or read everything on your list, you'll be ready to sit down and enjoy Dollhouse too. Or at least the first 13 episodes of it until FOX cancels it, anyway.

I hope it doesnīt get cancelled, but we never know. Can someone tell me why Firefly was cancelled?
Speaking of Firefly, you should watch it too, and then Serenity.
Not enough people were watching it, and it's probably not a cheap series to make. So Fox would never earn the money back.
I still have to watch it ... I missed it when it was on the Dutch television.
I hope it doesnīt get cancelled, but we never know. Can someone tell me why Firefly was cancelled?
FOX broadcast it out of order (the pilot was shown last, IIRC), pre-empted it for baseball, moved it around, and generally went out of its way to ensure it had no chance to build an audience. Then cancelled it for poor ratings and didn't even bother showing the last couple of episodes.
They did something similar with Drive, Minear and Fillion's new show, last year. That one got blamed for the craptacular 24 S5 getting bad ratings and cancelled in favour of repeats of House after nine days (not nine episodes, nine actual days). At least they eventually put the two they had in the can on the web so we could see them.
None of this fills me with confidence that they won't yank Dollhouse as soon as we get hooked. That said, they just extended their buy of TSCC to a full season despite concerns about its ratings, so maybe they're not totally evil.
