What was the scariest scene in BTVS? Personally, I found Ms. Calendar's demise was rather chilling.

I agree, Angelus hunting down Jenny ... but also the aftermath when Angelus was looking at the breakdown of Willow and Buffy ... and Giles finding Jenny. The whole thing was scary as hell.

Drusilla with the little boy in 'Lie to Me' freaked me out as well.

And Pavayne, those spirits were way too scary looking for me.

warren's skinning was my only moment of feeling a little queasy (only the first watch). but i think a lot of that was having eaten too much chocolate pudding (i actually remember what i was eating that day).

the gentlemen, der kindestod and pavayne's victims had creep factors on the first viewings...

but i never particularly was scared--more like the occasional, minor, nonchalant 'gross'. and i only ever cried during 3 jossverse episodes (all surrounding fred and wesley).

I got pretty scared when all the Jasminites were chasing Fred. Especially when that car pulls up in front of her.

Pvayne was pretty creepy too with all of his flickering lights and self-mutilating spirits.

I don't think I ever got scared at all during the show, let alone to the brink of that, which, by the way, is gross.

But I think the only time I ever jumped, which was more associated with surprise than fright, although it was obviously gonna happen was in Prophecy Girl when the Master pops up from behind Buffy.

I know the Gentlemen and Der Kindestod were scary in context and they looked quite chilling, but I don't think they were as scary as some things.

Yes the Angelus/Jenny scene in 'Passion' was fairly creepy. And I agree Pavayne was also very creepy, the woman with no arms as she walks towards Spike gave me chills.

I also thought James' ghost in 'I Only Have Eyes For You' was fairly creepy when he grabs onto Buffy violently, his face decayed and he shouts "Get out!"

In "After Life" in season 6 after Buffy comes back, the part where Anya comes in with the freaky eyes and the knife cutting her face.... That always gets me.

Nothing ever made me have that an extreme reaction!

But then, I've been watching Horror movies from the age of 9, so maybe I don't scare easily anymore!

It get more disturbed by Buffy than pertrified and I have to say I get more emotionally effected by Buffy than disturbed.

However, I have to say Season Seven's episode with Willow having her skin stripped bit by bit is disturbing, can't remember the name of it. The gentlemen in Hush, when they are grinning at each other and handing knives to each other over that trapped college student is also disturbing.

The gentlemen still creep me out but i really think the creepiest of all was the child killer in killed by death and coincidentally both them demons are similar in appearance

Welcome, Bubblecat! I am the same - too much horror for too many years to be afraid of what I see on TV - but a lot of it is very, very disturbing. I also agree that Gnarl the skin stripping demon is totally creepy and, of course, The Gentlemen in Hush, something very disturbing about "can't even scream."

I also agree with Fuzzy that Anya is very disturbing when that demon hijacks her, much more disturbing that when it does the same to Dawn.

I think Der Kindestod was the only thing about Buffy that could ever scare me. I probably wouldn't be as scared now but I was about 10-11 years old back then. Aside from that, I've never really found Warren's flaying bit in 'Villains' that disgusting.

The first time I was ever shocked by the show was when we first saw Angelus and even more than that, when he killed Jenny. I simply refused to believe that she had died and was expecting her to come back to life by the end of the episode.

Ahh, there were quite a few things that scared me in BtVS. Mainly Der Kindestod, Gnarl, and the creepy possessing demon in Afterlife. And Warren's flaying made me cringe a lot.

The creepiest for me was the Kindestod, and the Gentlemen and their lackeys were creepy too. Also, when the queller demon is in Joyce's bedroom and at first nobody notices... Oh, and how Jenny drops the disk with how to restore Angel's soul ad nobody finds it for a long time really made me twitchy - all like "come on, please, find it already!!!".
And the characters' pronunciation of German so totally made me twitch. The words sometimes were very hard to make out, and I'm a native speaker.
