1.04- Warlock and Secrets

Teaser

We open up on the streets of LA. The camera pans around to show cars are driving by and people are walking and talking happily. We cut over to an alley. The camera pans around to show 3 people fighting a giant demon. The camera pans in closer to show its Connor, Sofia, and Marty. Connor picks up his sword off the ground and swings it at the demon but misses and receives a back hand to a face in return. Sofia does a triple back flip and kicks it in the back. Marty pulls the crossbow off his back and shoots a crossbow bolt at the demon right in the eye. Connor gets back up and swings his sword decapitating the demon. Connor smiles and turns to the others.

Marty: (shocked) okay that was just a little bit creepy.

Sofia stands and walks over to Marty and Connor.

Connor: (off the other’s looks) yeah well the demons dead and the streets are safe. So thanks for giving me the second degree, but I have a job to do and this is it.

Sofia: Well….creepiness aside, we wouldn’t have found the demon if it wasn’t for Marty.

Marty: How do you figure that?

Connor and Sofia look at each other.

Connor: Are you kidding? Don’t tell me you forgot.

Marty: Forgot what?

Sofia: Um the fact that you can see into the future. Oh and are able to feel other’s emotions.

Marty turns and starts walking down the alley toward the entrance. Connor and Sofia run after him.

Connor: Okay look Marty. I know you don’t want to believe it but you have these powers and they are apart of you. You cant just deny them.

Sofia: Yeah I felt the same way when I became a slayer. You cant run from your destiny.

Marty: (angry) for the last time….. (Yelling) I don’t have any powers.

Connor and Sofia fly backwards into an open garbage can and land inside. They both stick there heads out and look at Marty with shock and gloating looks. Marty just looks back horrified.

Act 1

We open up on the Hyperion. Tracey is sat writing in a notebook while Gregory is going through the weapons cabinet. The two look over when they see the front door open and Connor, Marty and Sofia walk in. Tracy sniffs the air and smells something foul and Gregory does the same. They both look at Sofia and Connor. They both smell it to and they sniff each other and plug there noses.

Connor: Well its official….I’m going to be a garbage man when I grow up.

Sofia: Screw that I’m just a girl. (Off everyone’s look) Who just so happens to love fighting evil.

Gregory: Well can someone explain why it smells like garbage in hear.

Connor and Sofia: Ask Marty

Marty looks at them both with a death glare.

Connor returns the glare and walks towards the stairs.

Connor: I’m taking a shower. Have Sofia explain this to you.

With that he goes upstairs. Everyone turns to Sofia and Marty. Marty sighs.

Marty: Okay look. Connor and Sofia seem to think that I have these so called abilities. But it sounds crazy. I mean where would I get these abilities from?

Tracey: Well probably from your parents. I mean they have to have powers themselves or at least one of them does. I’ve been reading up on how some people get abilities.

Marty: (agitated) look for the last time I don’t have powers.

Just then books start flying out the bookcase and papers fly everywhere. Sofia and Tracey are both thrown back by an invisible force and Gregory flies back as well. Marty looks around as the others look at him like he is crazy.

Marty: Um….Oops.

Cut to a room. We see posters hanging on walls and clothes strewn all over the floor. The camera pans over to show a bed. The bed is shared by two occupants. The camera turns to show its Casey and Jody. Casey and Jody are both shirtless and Casey is lying on Jody’s chest. Casey wakes up and looks around to see he isn’t in his bedroom. He looks down at the bed and sees Jody. Casey gets up and goes to his pants which are on the edge of the bed. He digs into the pocket and finds his hone. He starts scrolling through it and sees he has 5 missed calls from Connor. Casey looks back at Jody sleeping in his bed, sighs and grabs his shirt and shoes and leaves the room, out the window. Jody stirs and looks over to see Casey gone. He sighs and gets up.

Cut to the Hyperion. Connor, Sofia, Tracey, and Gregory are standing in a circle around Marty who is sitting on a cushion in the middle of them. Marty has a guilty and confused look on his face while the others stand around him with glaring looks. They all look up when the front door opens and Casey comes through the door.

Connor: (annoyed) where were you? I tried calling you.

Casey: (angry) I know. It’s just that I was kind of busy last night and I didn’t want any interruptions is that okay?

Connor: (angry) No it’s not okay. (Sighs) look next time at least tell us where you are going to be.

Casey: Fine. So what’s going on here?

Tracey: Well Marty may have powers and he used them against us.

Casey walks over to Marty and tilts his chin and looks him in the eyes. Casey’s eyes go black and so does Marty’s. The gang looks at them both weirdly. Casey then lets go of Marty’s chin and takes a step back. His eyes are still black.

Connor: (worried) Um….Case….are you okay?

Casey: (still looking into Marty’s eyes) Yes. Although I figured it out he does have powers.
Tracey: Yeah we know that. The question is how did he get them?

Man O.S.: I think I can answer that.

Casey looks over and it breaks connection and his eyes return to normal. The rest of the gang look over and see a man who is wearing khaki pants a black button up shirt a black tie and a black suit jacket.

Tracey: (confused) Um who is that?

Marty: What are you doing here?

The Man walks over and stands in front of Marty.

The Man: Can’t I come see my own son.

The gang all turn to look at Marty. While Connor looks at Marty’s dad with scorn.

Fade to black-End of Act 1

Act 2

We open back up on the where we left it. Marty stands up and hugs his father. Connor looks at the scene with anger.

Tracey: Hey Mr. Jackson how have you been?

Mr. Jackson: (laughs) Oh Tracey you know you are aloud to call me Jonathon.

Tracey and Jonathon hug. Jonathon looks past Tracey and see the others.

Jonathon: So Martin who are these people and why haven’t I been introduced?

Marty: Oh okay dad this is (points to Casey) Casey, (points to Sofia) Sofia, (points to Gregory), and Gregory.

Jonathon shakes hands with all of them. He turns around to see Connor watching him. He walks over to Connor.

Connor: So Mr. Jackson how have you been?

Jonathon: Very well and you?

Connor: (smug) Oh I have been swell.

Casey turns to see Connor and Marty’s Dad talking he walks over to them and grabs Connor’s arm.

Casey: (to Jonathon) excuse us.

Casey pulls Connor away.

Tracey: So Jonathon. Do you have any idea where Marty’s power comes from?

Jonathon: Yes I do it comes from his mother.

Marty: Wait what?

Jonathon: Yes your mother was a witch. She had a vision just yesterday of you in a fight with a vampire.

Gregory: (shocked) Wait…. You know about all of this.

Jonathon: Oh yes I know about all of you. (Looks to Sofia) How you’re a slayer, (looks to Gregory) how you’re a slayer, (looks to Casey) and how you’re a warlock.

The gang all looked shocked.

Jonathon: Oh and I also know Connor here is the infamous Destroyer.

Connor: (angry) Oh really?

Marty: Well dad you have to tell me more. I mean you knew all of this and I wanted to know about mom’s life.

Jonathon smiles

Jonathon: Okay son. Let’s go out to dinner. (Looks to the others) So anybody want to join us?

Sofia: Yes

Gregory, Tracey, Connor and Casey: No thank you.

Jonathon: Okay. Marty, Sofia lets go.

With that Jonathon, Marty and Sofia left the Hyperion. When the door closes Connor sighs and goes to the weapon cabinet.

Tracey: (to Connor) where are you going?

Connor: (pissed off) Out. (Turns around) In the meantime Casey you come with me, while Trace you and Gregory look up info.

Gregory: On what?

Casey and Connor continue walking towards the door. Connor turns

Connor: Jonathon Jackson.

Cut to the hellmouth. Clarice is standing next to the hellmouth angry. She is wearing a black skirt, black turtleneck and black stilettos. She soon starts pacing and jumps back when Darla appears in front of her.

Clarice: You know shouldn’t do that.

The First/ Darla: Yeah well I have an assignment for you.

Clarice: Yeah what do you want me to do this time?

The First: Well first we need to work on your attitude. Next I want you to look for a very special book.

Clarice: Well what does the book look like?

The First walks around the seal and sits on a box.

The First: Well its big brown and has the symbol of Danzalthar on the front cover.

Clarice: Okay where is this book?

The First: Well it’s in the wolfram and hart building. (Off Clarice’s shocked expression) See now do you see how valuable that book is.

Clarice: I thought that the offices were destroyed when Angel gave up his position

The First: Yeah well, it’s up and running now. They also have the book which I need right now. So are you up to it?

Clarice: Yeah I’m up to it.

The First: Good

Cut to the streets of LA. Casey and Connor are walking side by side. Connor looks angry while Casey has a calm look on his face.
Connor: God damn. I can’t take this anymore.

Casey: Connor you have to relax. I’m sure Marty and Sofia know exactly what they are doing.

Connor stops and turns to look at Casey.

Connor: Are you serious? Marty’s father isn’t who he says he is.

Casey: (confused) what do you mean?

Connor: Look Marty’s dad is not who he says he is. I just get this really bad feeling off of him.

Casey: Well I agree with you to… (Looks behind Connor) Connor what the hell is that?

Connor turns around to see what Casey was staring at. The camera pans around to finally show us the newly built Wolfram and Hart offices. Connor looks in complete and utter shock.

Connor: How the hell is that back?

Woman’s voice O.S.: Well that’s what happens kid when somebody tries to get rid of us. We just come back with a vengeance.

Connor and Casey turn around to see Lilah standing there in all her former glory. She is wearing the same outfit that she wore in the Angel episode “Home”. She smiles at the two boys.

Lilah: (smug) Hey how have you been?

Cut to a fancy restaurant. The camera pans around to show Jonathon, Marty, and Sofia sitting at a table laughing and chatting away. Before Marty can say another word 5 vampire’s crash into the restaurant and start attacking patrons. Sofia and Marty get up and start fighting the vamps. Jonathon sneaks away and pulls a gun out his jacket. Sofia kicks two over the table and throws another out the window. Marty kicks a vamp in the chest and pulls out a stake and stakes the one who tries to jump him from behind. Sofia back flips and kicks the vamp in front of Marty into a broken table piece. Marty right hooks the last two vamps. Marty and Sofia gang around the last two vamps.

Marty: (pulls the stake out of his jacket) Alright you jack asses have five seconds to tell us who sent you and why.

Sofia: Yeah. Plus you ruined my dress. (Angry) This cost a lot of money.

Vamp #1: We don’t know what you’re talking about.
Sofia: The hell you don’t

She throws the stake and the vampire dusts.

Marty: Well I guess your friend was stupid. So are you feeling talkative?

Vampire: (scared) Yeah. Look I was sent by Wolf-

Before the vamp could finish he dusted.

Sofia and Marty turn around to see Marty’s Dad with a crossbow.

Jonathon: Sorry son. But that vampire was a danger.

Marty and Sofia look at each other and nod.

Cut back to Casey and Connor standing in front of Lilah. All 3 are having a stare down that would make even the First scared.

Lilah: So what no hug?

Casey: Um…. Who is she?

Connor: (angry) well that is Lilah Morgan. Queen Bitch of Wolfram and Hart. (Walks towards Lilah) So what do you want Lilah?

Lilah laughs and walks towards Connor.

Lilah: You are just like your daddy, tough but a real softy on the outside.

Connor gets pissed and grabs her by the throat and slams her up against an alley wall. Casey is standing off to the side watching this exchange not really caring. Casey walks over to Connor and pulls him off of Lilah.

Lilah: (gasping) thanks.

Casey: Look it wasn’t for you. Now answer the question. Why you are here isn’t Wolfram and Hart destroyed? Ergo you’re trapped in hell? Burning?

Lilah: No. You didn’t hear? (Off there looks) Well I hate to tell you kiddies but Wolfram and Hart is back and fully staffed.

Connor and Casey are shocked to hear this. Lilah looks at them both and starts laughing.

Connor: (turns to Lilah) what’s so funny?

Lilah: Well the fact that it’s back and you didn’t know about it. I would have thought it would have tipped your senses. But I though Jonathon Jackson would have told you.

Connor and Casey look at her with confusion.

Lilah: You didn’t know about that either? Go team.

Casey: Of course it makes sense. How else would he know about who we were unless Wolfram and Hart let him know?

Connor: Okay we have to call Marty. Let him know his dad isn’t on the up and up. Lilah will you help us?

Lilah: Um no. Did you forget I’m evil? I don’t help the help.

Casey: Then why-

Lilah: Let’s just say I owe Angel one.

Connor: Fine.

Connor walks past Lilah and down the street and Casey follows after. Lilah looks after them and walks down the alley.

Cut to Marty, Sofia and Jonathon walking down the street. The 3 of them are talking when all of a sudden Jonathon punches them both. Sofia gets up but feels a little woozy and falls back down.

Sofia: (slurring) what…did…..you….

With that Sofia hits the floor. Marty looks up.

Marty: Why dad?

With that Marty passes out. Jonathon takes out his cell phone and punches a few buttons.

Jonathon: (into phone) yeah….I got them.

Fade to Black- End of Act 2

Act 3

Tracey and Gregory were searching through files and the laptops when Connor and Casey run through the front door.

Connor: Okay hey are Marty and Sofia back yet.
Tracey: No why?

Casey: Because Marty’s Dad is evil.

Gregory: (stands up and walks over) what how is that possible?

Connor: Oh trust me it is, and what makes it even worse is that Wolfram and Hart is back.

Tracey and Gregory look shocked about this.

Gregory: (shocked) how….?

Casey: Long story. Tell me you have something on Jonathon Jackson.

Tracey walks back over to the laptop. She grabs a couple of papers.

Tracey: Actually I do. It turns out that his wife wasn’t killed in a car accident. He killed her.

Connor and the others look shocked.

Connor: Wait so that means….

Tracey: That’s right Marty doesn’t know.

Casey: Why would he kill his wife?

Tracey: To cover up the fact that she knew about Wolfram and Hart’s plans for Marty and you. They wanted Marty for his abilities and you for your abilities as well. She tried to take Marty away but he killed her and made it look like a car accident.

Connor: Okay. Now I totally want to kick this guy’s ass.

Gregory: Well lets find the restaurant they went to and go from there.

Casey: (shaking his head) No we head to Wolfram and Hart. (Off everyone’s look) What? It’s what I would do if I kidnapped my super powered son and his slayer girlfriend.

Tracey goes over to the weapon cabinet and starts pulling out weapons.

Connor: Um…what are you doing?

Tracey: (turns toward him) well I’m going with you. What’s it look like I’m doing?

Connor: Well I-

Tracey: I don’t care. Look he is my friend to and you know what, I want to help him. But if you get in my way Riley I swear to god I will kick your ass.

With that Tracey starts walking toward the front door. Connor looks at Casey and Gregory and follows Tracey. Casey and Gregory stare at each other and start chuckling while following Connor out.

Cut to a holding cell. Marty starts to stir. He opens his eyes and looks around to see himself inside a cage. He stands up and looks around his settings. He then looks down and sees Sofia laying next to him knocked out. Marty looks and sees to guards at the door he runs up to the bars and reaches out and touches them but gets shocked in the process. He falls back down and looks at his hands which are turning bright red. Marty sighs and stays sitting down.

Cut to the entrance to Wolfram and Hart. Cut to the inside lobby. A lawyer is pressing the elevator button and is impatiently waiting. He is about ready to leave when the elevator opens and reveals Clarice standing there fully vamped. He looks shocked but before he can say anything she snaps his neck. She walks out of the elevator smug. The camera pans down to see two dead people already in the elevator. Clarice continues to walk until security starts coming her way. She just smiles and runs full force at them.

Cut to the front of Wolfram and Hart. The gang is standing there looking at the building. They have looks of horror on there face. The camera pans around to show that the Wolfram and Hart office is being destroyed. Chairs and people are flying out the windows. The building also has little fires in it. The gang sees this and teleport inside.

Cut to Wesley’s old office. Clarice is standing in the doorway and is looking around. She sees all the texts lined up. She walks over to them and starts flipping through them and searches and searches until she finds the book she was looking for. She smiles and walks out of the office. Before she could make it to the elevator she is thrown back by an invisible force. She gets up to see Jonathon standing there holding out his hand and with a ton of armed guards with crossbows.

Clarice: Well…. What the hell took you so long? I was beginning to suspect this place really had gone to the dogs since it has been back.

Jonathon lowers his hand and starts to walk forward.

Jonathon: So where do you plan on taking that text?

Clarice: (smug) well if you hadn’t noticed I was stealing it and I’m taking it away. Any other questions chief?

Jonathon: Just one. How do you plan to get out of here?

Connor V.O.: Oh trust me she isn’t getting out of here.

Everyone looks up and sees Connor and his friends standing there with weapons and smiling.

Connor: Wow Clarice I didn’t think you would resort to stealing.

Clarice: Kid I would love to stay here and sling barbs at you all day but I’m on a dead line.

Tracey: (angry) well sorry bitch but you’re not getting out of here. (Points her sword at Jonathon) Where are Sofia and Marty?

Jonathon: He is safe with Sofia in a place you won’t find him.

Casey: That is so not true. He’s in the lower levels of this place in a giant cage. Am I right?

Jonathon just looks pissed and turns towards his men.

Jonathon: Kill them.

The guards let lose with the arrow barrage and the gang plus Clarice look shocked

Fade to Black- End of Act 3

Act 4

The scene opens up on the arrows flying towards Clarice and the others. Casey’s eyes flash black and a giant barrier shows up and deflects the arrows. Clarice sees this as an opening and starts attacking the guards. Jonathon starts running away. Casey sees him and starts going after him followed by Gregory. Connor and Tracey jump off the balcony and start getting into the fray.

Cut to Jonathon running down a hallway. He turns a corner and sees Casey standing at the end of it. He stops and back tracks to see Gregory there blocking his path holding up a crossbow.

Gregory: So are you going to take us to Marty or do I have to kill you?

Jonathon: Okay fine.

He starts to walk towards the exit and is about to turn a corner until he stomps on Gregory’s foot and punches him in the face. Casey sees this and goes to stop him but gets shot by a crossbow bolt. He hits the floor and doesn’t get back up.
Jonathon: Now let’s go join the others.

Cut to Tracey, Connor, and Clarice beating up there foes. Tracey does a roundhouse kick to the two guards behind her. She back hands another one while doing a triple back flip and kicking two out the windows. Connor right hooks one and gets back handed by another. He then kicks the guy in the face and throws him into the other guards. Clarice just punches through all of them and snaps there necks. She turns to Connor and Tracey who are staring her down.

Clarice: Well today was fun. I will be seeing you.

Clarice starts walking towards the elevator and gets inside. She waves to Connor as the door closes.

Tracey: Well I still don’t see why we let her get away.

Connor: Trust me. I think she let us go. We wouldn’t have been able to take her. (Turns to where Casey and Gregory ran off to) come on lets go find them.

The two of them starts running away from the lobby.

Cut to the area Marty was. Sofia is now awake and pacing the cell while Marty is sitting in the middle of it. He gets up when he hears a door open. Sofia turns to see Gregory is carrying Casey and he is bleeding.

Sofia: Wait what the hell happened?

Gregory: What else. Marty your dad shot him.

Jonathon: Shut up and get in there.

He pushes Gregory in the cage and he trips and drops Casey on the floor. Sofia goes to check on Casey while Marty walks over to Gregory and his dad.

Marty: (sad) dad why would you shot him?

Jonathon: because he is a threat and he was in my way.

Marty: (angry) so that just justifies shooting him?

Jonathon: Yes it does.

Marty looks shocked. Sofia pulls the arrow out of Casey and as soon as she pulls it out the wound starts to heal on its own. She gets up suddenly shocked by what she is seeing. Casey’s eyes soon open and they are pitch black. He turns towards the door of the cage and swings his hand and moves Marty out of the way. He then lifts both hands and an energy wave shoots out of them destroying the cage. Connor and Tracey get into the room just in time to see Casey do this.

Tracey: (shocked) what is he doing?

Connor: I have no idea. But we have to stop him.

Casey walks forward and looks at Jonathon and throws him against the wall and holds him there. Marty sits up and sees this he goes over to Casey and steps in front of him.

Casey: What are you doing? Get out of my way.

Marty: I’m sorry Casey but you can’t kill him.

Casey: Why?

Marty: If you do…you won’t come back from that. Trust me.

Casey: No. I have to finish this. (Demonic voice) He must die.

Marty raises his hand and sends Casey back into the opposite wall. Casey falls down and slumps to the floor. Marty turns around to see his father looking at him. Jonathon stands up and looks at Marty.

Jonathon: Thank you my son.

Marty: I didn’t do it for you. (Punches his dad across the face) I did it for my friends.

With that Marty walked over to Casey and helps him up and starts to walk out of the room. Sofia helps Gregory up and helps him out of the room as well. Tracey and Connor look back at Jonathon and walk out of the room.

Cut to the Hyperion. Its morning out side. Cut to Marty’s room. Marty is sitting on his bed cross-legged looking through a picture album. There is a knock at the door and Marty turns to see Tracey and Connor standing there. They both walk over to his bed and sit down.

Connor: I’m sorry this happened. I guess now I can say I understand how you feel huh?

Marty chuckles. He looks down at a picture of his 10th birthday and his mom and dad are next to him smiling.

Tracey: Hey. Look I know it’s hard for you now but hey you did the right thing by stopping Casey from killing him.

Connor: That’s true.
Marty: (looks up) Oh how is Casey? Is he pissed at me?

Tracey: Actually he is surprised and grateful that you did it. He says thank you.

Marty: Yeah well. I don’t know what to do. (Get’s off the bed and paces the room) For starters he killed my mom and then framed it on someone else. How am I supposed to go on knowing that my father is an evil man?

Connor: (gets off of bed) well I think you just need your friends for now.

Tracey: (stands next to Connor) he’s right. We’re family now, always have been, always will be.

Marty starts to cry and Connor and Tracey both give him a hug.

Cut to the hellmouth. Clarice walks in the room and looks around. She waits and turns to see The First in the guise of Darla again.

The First/ Darla: So did you get it?

Clarice walks up to him and holds out the book.

The First: Oh that is excellent. Good phase two is over with. Now on to faze three.

Clarice: Well it was pretty simple when the Destroyer let me get away

The First: Oh he knows he is losing this battle and he can’t beat us.

Clarice: Oh that is so true. (Glances at the hellmouth) Well that thing will be complete soon.

The First: (smiling) yes won’t be long now.
