Well, the series begins in about three or so weeks and it seems like there is a decent number of folks here on the forum who will be checking it out. And as such, here's a look at the cast of the new spinoff. (I scanned the first image.)

I'm not sure if I will be watching. I have a feeling it will be one of those shows I don't intend on catching but will anyway. :/

Those water shots are kinda cool. Very unique idea and I can see some wicked ass wallpapers!
Anywho... I'm excited for Lori Loughlin, I love her. Though I'm not to aware of the rest of the cast. . . I know some are from Degrassi and other teenshows from Disney, but oh well. I'm most excited to see Shannen and Jennie returning as their original characters. I really liked 90210 (though I only started watching a year or so ago) but it will be cool to see what they do. I just hope it doesn't become the OC...

I read that Tori Spelling is opting out because she wasn't offered as much as Shannen and Jennie. Not that I care...just passing along the intel....
And I liked The OC! (For the most part.) This new show seems far more shallow and vapid than The OC was. Not that I have too much to judge it on at the moment. I could be completely wrong. :)

I heard she is not returning right away cause she is pregnant again or something... She also wanted her husband to have a recurring role along side her (which maybe why she isn't going to do the series if he didn't get a role)
I'm really glad Brian Austin Green is NOT returning. It would so ruin his character of T:SCC and I think he knows it.

I hear you. And he was such a pleasant surprise on TSCC. I was very impressed by his performance and I really think it would be a step down to reprise a role like this. It would be a different story if he weren't on TSCC; after all, what has he really done that is noteworthy since 90210? But yeah...I am also glad. :)
I read that Brian Austin Green hasn't been approached yet, but when he is, he'd be willing to appear. I think it's pretty cool of him, personally. I mean, there's Ian Ziering who recently said he wouldn't, and the dude's not doing anything. It's obvious that he probably wasn't even asked. But, BAG is a regular on an actual television series and he's willing to return. I think they'll be asking him soon enough, probably during "T: SCC" downtime.
MAJOR 90210 SPOILERS:
Seriously...I mean it, it'll ruin one of the HUGE plot twists!I MEAN IT!!I'd be very disappointed if he didn't since..one of the main characters is his sister! Yeah, they have Kelly, but I think it'd be weird to not show Erin's brother as well. I'd find it weird to have her talk about her brother, but not actually show him ever. Unless he was dead, but I don't think David Silver fans would appreciate that very much...Anyway, I'm mostly excited about Shenae Grimes! I love her character Darcy on Degrassi. She's pretty much the best actress on Degrassi so I'm glad she's jumping off that sinking ship. Her plot line at the beginning of Season 7 was amazing, but by the end of the Season, her little plot in the finale was laughable. It was ridicules.
Also, I cannot wait to see Jessica Walter back in action! I loved her on "Arrested Development!"
And I read that Maeve Quinlan would have a recurring role and I also love her. She's amazing.

That is definitely a high point! But to me, she will always be the university president from PCU. Love that movie!!!!

Aaah, that one guy making the hilarious face of "I'm too sexy for this..." has me excited about this show. I really want a fun light show that makes me laugh...and that is about the most ridiculous expression I've seen in a promo ever. *gasps for joy*
I'm thrilled about Shannen's return and is probably the real reason I'm willing to give the show a chance. I've always loved her as an actress even with all the drama she eventually brings to behind the scenes.
I don't mind if Tori doesn't return right away. This show has to run for an entire season, no need to cram everyone into the first couple episodes just to have them all leave early on in the season.
I just wish that they'd have Tiffani Thessian come to the show midseason, cause Valerie is so much fun...err...trouble. :xd

Thanks Jenni Lou!
Oh, so they did cast Rob Estes as the dad. That.Is.Awesome. I loved him on Melrose Place. He had a very easy going, solid, level mindedness about him. It'll be fun to see him as a dad. :D
And I'm loving this rich arrogant dude even more. I hope to have some comedy about his sports car, he looks so proud of it.

I'm very excited about the actors in the new series. All of the actors I've seen them in other things and their all good. CANT WAIT!!

Actually enjoyed this.
I really came into the series with alot of reservations. I mean it can be really easy to mess up a show like this. The idea sounds fine - an update on a classic like 90210, and I was afraid it would be all cat fights and bikini's, and I gotta say I think there was only 1 bikini scene! So the slut factor wasn't too bad. The casting was done very well, everyone fits their character and no one seems to be forcing it.
My favorite character is Silver. Originally I heard she was gunna be Donna and David's daughter, but I am glad they scrapped that idea. I LOVED Kelly's mom on the original 90210 and I can't wait to see what crazyness she is up to now. Silver also just a great charm to her that I love. I also really like Adrianna. She is just weird, and I can't wait to see where her character goes. I loved her stealing the purse!
What is up with McDouchey? Uhh... Ethan. Jj and I kinda dislike him and his cheating ways. What is the point? He cheats but then he helps Dixion? Uhh how are we supose to react to this character? I hope we lose him by season 2.
Now to Kelly and Brenda! Oh boy was I glad to see these two characters. Kelly felt so natural and right. I was shocked to see a baby! I really hope its Brandon's! I loved those two together. Brenda seemed... wrong... I guess just seeing her as Prue and such, and just that last time we saw Brenda she was like 20... so its like more then 10 years since we've seen her character and well, I just think Shannen Doherty just needs a bit of time to get back into her character.
All in all it was a great start to the series.
In the future I would love to see Emma Caulfield return, though I doubt she will, unless she returns with Brandon ^_^

Are we supposed to tag these? IDK...
Sooooooo....I enjoyed it :xd More than a guilty pleasure, but less than an actual OMG BEST SHOW EVAR. It entertained, brought me squees and also made me think "ROFL. You're kidding, right?"
I don't know if it was just because I was hoping to like her already, and that I'm glad she lived up to my expectations, but Silver was my favorite of the teens :xd:heart: Really, I thought she was adorable. A bit harsh, but I like her take no crap attitude. I also loved in her introduction scene, where Kelly comes along. I thought they were cute.
LOL at all the digs at Dixon and Annie's morality. Poor kids, living around ALLLLLLL those temptations and stuff. What, are there no parties in Kansas? But they were really touchy feely for siblings. It almost creeped me out, but as, like, BFFs or something...I thought they were kind of fun.
Speaking of creepy and inappropriate, HELLO TEACHER BANTERING WITH 15/16-year-old girls. I love the whole cool, rebel teacher vibe. And yes, he's kinda cute and reminds me of Jonas Armstrong. And yes, I really like him right now. And yes, I laughed when he told the bartender that Naomi's underage. But I'm...not sixteen any more, so I'm just not into the inappropriate (non!)flirting with students thing. SO YES. PLZ. Stick with Kelly. Or other people in your age group, kthnx.
But not Brenda. Let's not go there. But BRENDA! ...gosh, everything's so day-in-the-sun happy. Yippee for her/Kelly's reunion, and it's nice to see them catching up. Plus, she knows the kid...but hasn't seen either of them for years? Something going down?
Um, Naomi and Annie...I'm on the fence about both of them. I'm pretty sure I could end up either loving or hating them. Annie's okay, I guess. But...she's not really my kind of character girl, y'know?
I was really sympathizing with Naomi for a while there. It didn't seem like she was ALL bad. Like when she was asking Ethan if he'd lie for George and screw over Dixon? It sounded like she was saying "C'mon, do the right thing." And then he's all like, "OOOH! You're a ditz." And then she gets mad, and he's all like "ZOMG YOU'RE MAKING IT ALL ABOUT YOU!" You shouldn't have pointed a finger at her, you idiot!
I don't like Ethan. Whatever. I don't like him. He's kind of a dick, and then we're supposed to like him because he's actually a sweetheart. Ehhhhhh. Maybe he'll get more interesting later. Oh, and George. I was hoping that he'd be an adorable douchebag. But no. Just your run of the mill annoying a-hole.
(Edit: *high fives Travis* WE'RE LIKE "WTF, MCDOUCHEY?")
And yeesh, I enjoyed having more than an hour, but two episodes were just too much for me to sit through tonight. I kind of got bored towards the end.
Oh, and finally...
ILU JESSICA WALTERS!!! :worthy:
She's hilarious. And disturbing. I lurrrrve her. Speaking of "Arrested Development" and why it's awesome...Annie's childhood musical flashback> TOTALLY reminded me of Michael Bluth..."Youuuuuuuu're a CROOK, Captain Hook / Judge won't you throw the book at this pirate!"
I'd go into dislikes more, because there were QUITE a few of them, but...well, gushing is so much more fun right now.

Okay, it is 12:30 in the morning and my station is just playing it now. Seriously. It's like 1/2 in. Some baseball game ran super long..so long, in fact, that this show is airing nearly 2 hours after they scheduled it...which makes that 5 hours after it was originally supposed to air. Whew!
Anyway. totally predictable so far. cheesy fun, though. And Silver is the most interesting so far as well.
And Ethan? Sorry, all I can see is that dorky dude from the Ghostfacers ep of Supernatural. I can't help it.
And oh, yeah...Jessica Walter is made of awesome. :hf2:

Did someone say...CHEESE? :xd  I love cheese, of the food variety. Oh yes, though. It is SO cheesy. Which is why I can see why many people would...hate it? Is that a strong word? But it is really harmless fun to me...for now. :p
LOL about Ethan. Every time certain people come on screen, I'll yell out another character they've played. (Like George. Who is played by Kellan Lutz. Who is in Twilight. DAZZLE )
(And 2-5 HOURS?! Yeesh. I don't know if I would have waited for it. I'd be all like, FORGET THIS. And never, ever catch up/watch it :redshy:)

I'm at the point now where's there's like 20 minutes left and I want to finish it out 'cause I feel all invested since I've been watching ti for like 1 1/2 hours! But I about ready for bed now. *yawn*

So, I have to say that I really enjoyed the series opener. It wasnt a OMG this is so great, but it was a good opener that will have me watching next weeks episode. Well, I think that all the actors played great as their characters. My favorite is Silver and Adrianna. I think that Silver is just awesome and I love everything about her. Her style the way she carries herself. With Adrianna, I just love her style too and her personality.
BRENDA AND KELLY!!! Do i have to say more... I love these two women are back in the series. I hope they'll become regulars. Also I wonder who Kelly'sSon's father is???? I bet it's someone in the old cas of BH 90210
I just really liked this epsiode. They did a good job.
Did anyonw notices their high school is the same in Buffy's?
ONE LAST THING.... I LOVE JESSICA WALTERS!!!

Yeah, that high school is used a lot in tv. Incidentally--and appropriately--it also served as the original 90210's HS.
It just aired here in Oz... Its not what i expected. Not sure if i like it... I do like what they have done with the old BH cast though, i nearly wet my pants when Brenda appeared! Wooo!
Im not really liking any of the new characters except for the dad, but maybe i just like him from Melrose? :D

I'm hoping this gets as addictive as the original one was because I was sickeningly addicted to that one. It's kind of a surreal watch after the old one, especially when the former characters come on.

So I watched the second episode and I have to say that I liked it. It wasn’t the best, but I liked it. I still like all the characters and I was so surprised about Kelly, her mother and Silver's situation. I thought that was pretty good. I have my hopes up for Silver and Dixon gets together their cute couple!!!! I also loved how Silver just fit right into Dixon and Annie's family that was cute. i love the whole bowling sequence!!! The thing with Naomi and her parents. I would never stay in a relationship with a person that was cheating on me, just because of the money. The worst thing is that he wasn’t sneaking around it was open and his wife knew about this. YUCK!!
I just finished the 4th episode and I still like this show, but every time I finish an episode it leaves me wanting to watch the original show. It never fails, every single time (granted, that's only 3 times so far  )
I liked this episode. Annie annoys the crap out of me but oh well.. her grandmother was hilarious when she came to direct the musical
I loved, loved, loved that Brenda was back this episode  I wish they'd focus more on the older characters, which I guess is why I want to watch the old show everytime.. idk :p
Ok what I really wanted to say, and I guess it needs a spoiler tag? it's been a few days since it aired but still... Kelly's ex WTF? Dylan? NOOOOOO I wanted the dad to be Brandon. It can't be Dylan and Kelly can't still be in love with him because BRENDA AND DYLAN 4EVA!!!!! :sadwalk:
Anyway, I'm not so sure I like Naomi's character but she is growing on me and I do like her/her parents' storyline. It was gutsy of her to go confront the Dad's mistress. Well that, and she acted like a brat who's used to getting what she wants. Still, she realized this in the end which I liked. I think she's a character that will develop, she sure has the potential....
I like Naomi's mum for some reason, especially how she broke down when she realized that her husband wasn't just having a "casual fling" with that other woman... :(
I loved how Dixon got a job at the Peach Pit and how he came clean to his dad in the end. Cheesy but completely in line with the old show, Brandon would totally have come clean to Jim in the end ;)
I'm still going to stick with this even if it does make me get out my BH90210 dvd's after each episode

Line just reminded me to watch the newest episode!
So I am slowy getting more attached to this show. I mean we are getting some really good storylines going on, we have a hot fresh cast and some great sparks!
So lets go with the good. SILVER! She is just simply perfect. Jessica Stroup is such a charasmatic person that it is hard to not love her. Her personality just sparkles on the screen and it is just amazing. I am glad she is getting alot of story/screen time. I feared at first she may just be a Donna for awhile and only appear in the background with limited lines. Luckly that is what Navid is becoming. So I don't think I have to fear of lack of Silver!!!
Oh Kelly and Brenda. Why can you two just NOT get along? At least Kelly isn't trying to give Brenda highlights again  But it is upsetting that Shannen is walking away from the series after her 4-ep contract. She really does bring some of the BAM from the original series. I would love to have Kelly has a series regular, cause there is just so much that can be done with her! Oh and her baby daddy...
Dylan McKay... Where is the Brandon love? Plus I would love for a Brandon and Brenda scene... for twins they really havn't had much onscreen time in... well... 20 years...
What do people think of McDouche? (Ethan) I still dislike him, and I think the show is trying to make us feel for him now that we learn his brother is of speacial needs... Its like, okay so he is a jerk, but he loves his brother so lets love him! Ugh! It just such a cheap shot to try and pull at our heart strings...
Naomi. I agree with Line on her. I am not a huge fan but she is slightly growing on me if that makes sense. I love her storyline though, her mother is such a great actress, Christina Moore. She brings so much to the table and it will be great to see how the story plays out and this will maybe bring Naomi and Silver closer and make Annie a bit peeved? Lets hope!
And then there is Dixion. Haha I find it funny he got a job at the Peach Pit. And that Annie is into acting. It makes me wonder if the writers play the season one DVD as background noise to try and get "ideas". Cause I understand some paralles, but come on...
I am excited to see where the story takes some of these characters and if we do get Dylan I do hope that Brenda will pop up ONE more time cause they have such an amazing history that it would be kinda sucky for them to not have one scene. :cutecry:

Yeah Shannen has made it clear that she will not do more then her 4-episode contract. I think she said she had athoer projects she wanted to do, which I guess she might... She would really make 90210 a better series cause she does bring that charm back to the series.
As long as we get Kelly I am happy.

Although I love Kelly too and I am happy to see her on the show too :xd
I know that Shannen dosn't want to come back after her contract is over but she could change her mind, right? right? I hope she will realise that this show won't be the same without her. Like last time... except, different :p
I forgot to mention how much I love Silver. I think she's the only character that I instantly liked on this show and I love hers and Kelly's interactions

That is true. I hear she didn't get along with Shenae Grimes (Annie). But that is just the rumor so we don't know for sure, but I wouldn't be too surprised.
I would love more of the old BH character to pop up, cause I think they are so much better! But I doubt we will see them all... I just really want more Brenda and the Walsh's wouldn't that be interesting?
I also think Donna will be popping up sooner or later this season. I was never a Donna fan (or even Tori Spelling...) but it will be kinda cool to see more people and that would SO open to some David Silver! :p

I also think Donna will be popping up sooner or later this season. I was never a Donna fan (or even Tori Spelling...) but it will be kinda cool to see more people and that would SO open to some David Silver! :p
Heh they mentioned her baby :p
I SO want David Silver to appear on the show. They haven't mentioned him at all, not even when Silver was talking to Annie about what happened with her mom and dad. Or when Kelly and Silver were talking.... He's so neglected, poor David :comfort:

Ohh I totaly forgot! I want Andrea Zuckerman back too! Her daughter was in episode one and I would have liked more of her. We got like a breif scene... Hallee Hirsh is a good actress and I hope to see more of her. She seems like a more interesting character then Annie... :cutecry:
Hmm... It would be cool to have some David and Silver scenes. I bet they are close, David is probably a cool older brother

LMFAO the line that the teacher gave when she was starting the news read, "How old is this girl, 30?"
I found that hilarious since the actress that played Andrea was 30 when they started the series :p
It's still early on in the series so I am hoping we get more of the minor characters and preferably some of the ones who has a connection to the old ones :p
I also hope we get more "old" characters. It would be so cool if all of the old cast could make at least one appearance :xd I know, I know... wishful thinking..

I know! I just bursted out laughing when he said that, cause it was just WAY to funny. I'm guessing people who didn't watch the old series didn't get it, and were like "She doesn't look 30..." But it was a great little throw back that I hearted.
Yeah some more minor characters would be nice. I think the cast is too large and I hope we lose some by the end of the season, or at least down play some of them. I would also like more of the druggie girl she has had like little bit-parts but it would be more interesting to see more.
I would like to see Valeire come back, I love Tiffany Amber Theissen!

Total in-joke. :D However, Andrea's daughter Hannah was born about two seasons later than Kelly's sister Erin (Silver). So if Silver and co are meant to be 15/16, there is no way Hannah should be in the same school!
I've watched the first four episodes mostly because I'm concerned for the future of the CW, and its fate seems to hinge on the success of this show. So far, it has made me very nostalgic for the original show - as well as reminding me how few actual storylines I can remember. I've also found myself goggling in horror at the awful, awful outfits on display. Is that really how kids dress in Beverly Hills these days? Man, it makes me glad I've never been stylish. On the whole, though, I've found it unspectacular but entertaining bubble-gum viewing, with potential to become more if it can just bring itself to make the leap.

i never watched the first series, so i'm not making comparisons while watching the show. i love having a teen show to watch...because it seems at the moment, all my shows are adult ones (Heroes, Grey's, PB, DH, etc)...i watched Gossip Girl as well, but i don't even like that show, because the characters are too boring, so now i'm watching 90210 and loving it, and have given up Gossip Girl.
i like most of the characters... except Naomi, she just seemed a little too blonde from the start, but she's getting less annoying as the show goes on. Annie also seems a bit annoying too...with the way she talks...
love the whole Ethan/Annie shipper; you know it won't happen for a while...for the time being, Naomi will become closer friends to Annie and maybe Silver...just enough time to solidify a friendship with Annie before her and Ethan get together, then Bam. yeh, for some reason, i feel like new shows coming out don't have the potential to last too long; at least a season or 2 would be good though.
Ty is good for eye candy...but gee, if he is a player, seems like he makes a real effort and he seemed hurt when Annie dropped him to spend time with Ethan... didn't feel like a player till the students started talking about it; could be true or could be just a reputation...or maybe he's gay and makes people on the outside assume he sleeps with everyone. though, i hope that's not the case. still undecided on whether he'll be a longterm character. at the moment, i don't think so.
Ethan, also eye candy... that whole thing with his brother, just showed that he has no idea how to calm his disabled brother down... gee, you think if anyone could do it, it'd be him. he obviously doesn't spend enough time with him.
...but i still like his character...when with Annie.
love Dixon and Navid's characters...they're both just cool...
love the Grandma Wilson character...she's hilarious; lol. not really into the whole young teacher character...forgot his name. the one who seems to be the only teacher in the school...teaches English and coaches Lacrosse...i recognise him as Charlie Stone from VMars.
i was skeptical at first, from the commercials, which made it look like a real bimbo type show...not sure if that's what it is, but i enjoy the storylines and characters, so definitely enough to keep me interested. plus, there's no other decent teen shows going around.
"90210" was picked up for a full season. Also, Rebecca Kirshner (wrote for "Buffy" and "Gilmore Girls") is now running the show.
I hope they do something drastic to make this show, you know, good. Seriously, Adrianna needs to die. I really like her, but her death could open up some possibilities. They could have her connect with Naomi, Annie, Silver, Navid, Ethan, Ryan, Kelly, and Harry. Then, have her overdose. This could make the show shift directions and allow them to improve the characters emotionally. They'd all begin to reassess themselves so the change in the character's behavior/personality would feel more natural.
I want this show to do well, but it's lacking at the moment...

I'm not surprised it was fully picked up, The CW has been promoting it more then ANY other series (poor smallville...) I am VERY happy Rebecca Kirshner is taking over. She wrote some of the AMAZING Buffy episodes "Tabula Rasa", "Hell's Bells", "Potential", "Tough Love". She is amazing so hopefully she will take the series into a 'darker' series and add a bit more drama then we have now.
Now to last nights episode!
I still really dislike Annie... I like her story line and as a character she is pretty solid and almost on par with Brenda Walsh. But they just have made such a bad casting choice... She comes out as annoying and very bitchy and isn't very attractive (her face just looks really manly) and I totaly wouldn't mind if they got rid of her after season 1 and brought in a "family friend"
Silver has taken center stage. I love her and Dixon. They have such great chemestry and I love him enjoying her bossyness. It was just so funny and when she said they'll take it slow my heart sunk in love! I really do hope these two get pushed towards the center cause they are far more interesting then Annie/Ethan/Ty.
The three of them are just such a dry storyline that it is hard to watch and enjoy. I did however enjoy Adrianna! GOD DID I EVER! I feel so bad for her and the pressure her mom is putting on her. She is such an interesting character and she was just so pissed off at Brenda and Annie and what she did... Wow, just talk about Cruel Intentions! I just bursted out laughing when Annie went home crying (yeah that sounds bad... but whatever)
Thomas I know what you mean about her dieing, and I really would like her to live... But I really see that being a season finale story arc of her death and how hard it hits BH. And a great storyline for Kelly to apart of, since she tried so hard (and a GREAT chance for Brenda to return )
Naomi is growing on me. I really enjoy her mother and how strong she is. Again I think the issue with Naomi is poor casting... I think they casted on look over talent, which is really effecting the series. If it wasnt already like episode 5 I'd say recast... I do love the mom though, very strong actor and I am shocked she use to be on MadTV!
Now next week will be Brenda's "Last" episode. Which is upsetting cause she is bringing some great story to the series, I love how she cares about all the student and I think her and Adrianna would work so well together. They have such great on-screen chemestry (as apose to Annie and Brenda) I hope we get at least 1 more scene outta the two. Cause I think Brenda REALLY cares and she plays it so well.
All in all the series is picking up stride. I think the characters are REALLY starting to play out and by mid-season if we kinda shift some characters (maybe remove Ethan?) and maybe introduce some newer recurring characters (I beleive I read somewhere Jessica Lucas will be a recurring character, named Kimberly, mid-season, so there is hope in her)

So I've been watching not because I was uber excited for the series but because I'm bored on Tuesday nights and have been ever since Buffy ended, but I digress :sadwalk:. First off, might I just say that I was very happy Dylan's the dad! I love Dylan. Way better than that faux Minnesotan, Brandon. :nono: :p I still can't get over how old the girl who plays Naomi looks (and I can't stop replaying that part in Van Wilder when he says Naomi is "I moan" backwards  ), she totally doesn't look 16. BUT on the brighter side, I still like Silver and Dixon and I'm very happy they're a couple. :2party: I'm gonna make a prediction right now, after finding out that Silver gets to take care of Kelly's house while she's away, that....
We're gonna get Silver/Dixon lovin' in the next couple of weeks. I mean come on. There has to be a reason they made it a point that Silver was in charge of the house while Kelly's gone. Empty house + dating teenagers = teh sex. :boff:

I really am getting more and more happier with the series :2party:
The first scene was really good with Adrianna, her mom, Brenda, Kelly and the other teacher dude and the princaple. It was really strong and I think Adrianna is such an interesting character and the actress is really good. Everything was going good and then the next scene was Annie and the episode just went to hell... Well not total hell, but I will just say again Annie is the worst character on the show - only next to Navid (who just seems to be there for some cultural diversity, I doubt he'll make it past season 1, I mean he was in a Cheatah Girl movie...)
Anyways, back to Adrianna. I really am rooting for her, I rather watch her over Annie (and I think the people behind the scenes agree cause we got the least bit of Annie in this episode compaired to the rest). I really think Adrianna and Brenda have a great onscreen connection and it is ashame that we won't be getting more of the two and we didn't get a good solid scene of just the two of them.
And with that Brenda is gone :( She has said she won't return so it is upsetting since she is such an interesting character. And do we know how long Kelly will be? I hope she isn't gone for too long cause... Well I think she really helps the show what it is. Its great to have her there cause she brings such an amazing presence to all her scenes.
Now to Naomi. I am really starting to like her. I hated her, but she has grown on me. Her storyline with her parents is very interesting and I love how she is going about to try and get them together. She is just a kid who wants her parents together and she is just getting really devious and it is really interesting. The actress is also less annoying and far more fitting then her original apperances.
DIXON  SILVER!
Some great stuff, I loved Dixon standing up for her and his mom. But I'm sorry the best line yet
"Who's the baby daddy?"
I just bursted out laughing. It was great to see how Dixon loves his mom and just sees her as his mom and not the woman who adopted him. It is a really touching relationship and I would love more of Dixon and his family (minus Annie). Silver was just hot as usual and I am glad she is getting Kelly's place for awhile though I can imagine something bad is gunna happen. But oh well it was be VERY interesting!
Oh I almost forgot the Brenda/Kelly stuff was great. I love these two together, and just the heart breaking scene of Brenda deleting Dylan from her phone! :err: She looked so sad like she still loves him! But Kelly and the baby... It is just so sad that Brenda can't do anything more cause she wants to be a goodfriend but she wants her DYLAN! :cutecry:

i found the latest episode quite boring; other than the Dixon scenes...especially towards the end, where he defends Silver and his mum from that pdfile photographer. yay for Dixon, for getting that punch in. that was awesome. lol, as was Navid and the Persian models.
Adrianna was also the other interesting character in this episode. i too was rooting for her to swing to the good side...too bad she ended up back on the dark side, but she did text Ty to fill him in, ie, fixing her mistake and thus hopefully making it right with Annie.
Annie is just annoying... he smiles, her irritable behaviour, that sarcasm in her face that she gives off all annoying.
Navid is hilarious. lol.
Naomi; yeh, i get that her character is developing this softer side than we first saw, and i felt sorry for her when because not only does her dad pretty much neglect her, he's also off with another woman. anyway, i still don't like her character...her stunt was childish and i was surprised she even got her hopes up.
Ethan...he was a filler in this episode. did pretty much nothing.
Ethan/Naomi bubble has popped and Ty/Annie are over (because she's 15 years old and not ready for sex - gee, guess Ty is a player if that's the only reason he stuck around so long)... it will mean, in the weeks to come, there'll be that possible Ethan/Annie. anyway, i'm more interested in Dixon/Silver at the moment. a house to herself for Silver could either mean some 'alone time' with bf or out of control party... i don't really know which is more likely, but since Silver doesn't seem to have a whole lot of friends it could be the first. or nothing could happen.

I know Jennie first signed on for 6 episodes but I'm almost positive they asked her to sign onto 5 more eps and she did sooooo, she should be on for a little while longer. I actually thought that both Shannon and Jennie had signed on for the entire season/series when I heard they were going to be on. It's a little sad to know Jennie's gonna leave. I actually liked her character tons more, plus she's one of the characters that I can stand atm.

So looks like 90210 has done some cast change ups for the second half of the series!
1. Jessica Walters has been dropped (http://ausiellofiles.ew.com/2008/10/jessica-walter.html) as a series regular. Instead she will be a recurring character. The comments in the article makes a good point, although she is an interesting character she is way under used to be a series regular and I don't think people will miss her, cause she has only had like 2 episodes that are worth her talent.
2. Jessica Lowndes (Adrianna) has been bumped to series regular! Which is good, cause she has really helped drive the show to be far more interesting! I love her character and I hope we get more into her dark history. I also hopes this means less Annie screentime.
3. Brenda's back for more! (http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/showtracker/2008/10/shannen-doherty.html) Shannen Dorherty will be back for 2 more episodes this season giving her a total of 6 episodes with chances for more. Turns out she has discouvered there really isn't anything else for her but Brenda Walsh!
I'm a bit confused after watching tonight's episode... Navid and Adrianna used to be BFFs? Does Navid "like her, like her" or care about her because they used to be friends (along time ago)? Honestly, I thought Navid was gay. I mean, they did seem to be throwing hints around as early as the the second episode when he had the, "scoring for the other team" line. Even in the last episode, Navid was paired up with a guy for the parenting project. I thought that's where they were going with that? Or could they still be? It still seemed vague to me. I mean, if he liked her since the 6th(?) grade, wouldn't, "I'm in love with you!" be more fitting? You just don't like someone for like 6 years... Am I the only one who found this forced/random?
Anyway, thinking about it, I'm glad Adrianna didn't die. Out of all the characters, she's got the most depth. Also, if it keeps Maeve Quinlan (who plays her mother) on my screen, I'm happy.
I hope they keep this Ozzie kid around. Naomi needs a post-Ethan hook-up. Whether it's permanent or just a fling. Plus, he seemed kind of interesting, especially compared to Ethan. I liked her and Annie's discussion about her always wanting an older brother.
As for Annie, I liked that someone came out and called her, "perfect." I hope people call her that more. That way, eventually she can be all like, "Stop it!" and do something bad so she can say, "See! No, I'm not!" I'm finding her and Ethan really boring together. Can she get a new, love interest stat?! If Naomi doesn't want Ozzie, let Annie have him!
Oh! And Yay! for Debbie! Though, she could have came up with something better to say to Tracy. Like, "I'll punch you in your face so hard that you'll actually start making facial expressions." I mean, seriously, if you're going to be catty, at least be clever about it!
A new interview for with new show runner Rebecca Kirshner reveals some of the changed in store for "90210" now that's she's running things...Having worked on such well-regarded shows for young people what were your initial impressions of “90210”?
Hmm. I thought that it didn’t yet have a voice. There was a lot of essentially good raw material but it was lacking a particular perspective that defines the sort of TV that I personally really like. I thought it could be funnier.
What do you mean by “good raw material”?
The class conflict is interesting to me. I like the idea of a family from the Midwest, who have Midwestern values, supposedly, moving into this bastion of money and Hollywood and sort of ‘liberal elitism’ for what it’s worth and how they assimilate or don’t. How they influence the people around them or don’t. I think in some ways the early episodes moved past that premise and we’re trying to discover how it’s still relevant.
But I really hadn’t wanted to write about rich people. Right before I took this job, I was going around town talking about how I thought the economy was in crisis and proselytizing about Norman Lear dramas. So it’s kind of ironic that I’m here. But something about the challenge of helping a show that had such potential fulfill that was an exciting proposition for me.
When you were asked you to come aboard mid-way, what persuaded you? Were you a fan of the original “Beverly Hills 90210”?
Growing up, I wasn’t allowed to watch much TV, so I wasn’t an avid watcher. The kids on the show were my age, so it was in my peripheral vision. I did wear the same dress that Brenda and Kelly both wore to their prom to my own. The show was very much part of the cultural zeitgeist.
As for what persuaded me, the shows that I’ve worked on and learned from were so great because they had such a strong voice. I thought why not throw my voice in and see if it could help make ‘90210’ sing. Something about it made me want to roll up my sleeves. There were good writers working on the show. I just thought that the show had been so rushed into production that it hadn’t had time to find its voice.
I write from the perspective of the characters and their emotions and I thought I could offer some of that skill to make these characters into real people.
What can you tell us about Annie? I feel like I still don’t know what she’s all about.
We’ve been thinking about her a lot. It’s always tricky to be the central person in any show or narrative, because “the hero” is often surrounded by these colorful characters, so it’s hard. But one thing we’ve been talking about making her a real teenage kid. One with struggles. One who doesn’t always get what she wants. I think the way you grow up is by not getting what you want and then trying to get it and failing sometimes. Life for Annie has been breezy since moving to Beverly Hills. She’s only had a bit of romantic drama.
So things are going to get tougher for her. She’s had a good streak but there will be more challenges coming that will help define her.
What about Naomi? The publicity for the show propped her up as the show’s “bad girl,” but all we’ve seen her do is cry.
There will be more ‘bitch’ in her future, I can tell you that. We all love that type of character: the Queen B, the unleashed female. So we’re going to bring that out of her, definitely.
Tonight’s episode re-imagines the infamous slumber party episode. Even though you didn’t write the episode, this was your first on the job. What kind of guidance were you able give the writers?
The original ‘Beverly Hills 90210’ episode is quite classic and very, very sweet, but slumber parties are timeless. I thought it was a good idea. What I tried to do was encourage more humor. That was my first mandate for the show, in general. Humor and drama go together. In a slumber party, you go from hilarity to tears and back to giddiness in an hour and that’s sort of what life is like. On TV in general, they sort of divide drama from comedy. I try and find the interplay between the two, and I think this episode is a pretty good reflection of that.
Any particular stories you want to tell?
Right now, I really want to tell a pregnancy story where abortion is mentioned as a valid option. We’ll see. It’s not something I want to back down on.
I also want to do a fun episode that’s all dreams. The original series had a lot of dream-based episodes. I’d like to do an episode where we’re in the interconnected dreams of various characters. I want to write that one, too.
What is your goal moving forward?
Trying to find what a show is when it’s not one singular creator saying what it is. It’s difficult because there’s also the original series, the ghost, and the feeling of having to live up to something. Instead of Joss Whedon saying this is who ‘Buffy’ is, there’s a lot of input here. I’m trying to be the person that channels it all and finds the commonality between the team and to use my gut instincts.
What we’re finding together is that ‘90210’ is both grounded and a character-driven show. Unlike ‘Gossip Girl,’ it’s not so arch, not so Evelyn Waugh or Noel Coward. ‘90210’ is an opportunity to talk about teen issues. Real-world stuff told in whatever fun way. I want the real world to inform this show. I want to be an advocate for the characters and finding their reality.Yay for Annie becoming a real teenager and Yay for Bitch!Naomi! The defiantly went to see the wizard. Though, I hope they managed to get Ethan a life.Source (http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/showtracker/2008/11/90210-preview-n.html)

I am VERY happy that Rebecca Kirshner has taken over, and I hope it means some radical changes for the series to make it a bit stronger. Next weeks episode looks really good, so I think she will have a better handle on the series.
Annie will always be an issue... I just dislike the actress or well... I do now. I didn't dislike her before, but for somereason she just is so... UGH! Bad. B.A.D! Naomi I am glad will be the bitch, cause yeah I totally remember her being a bitch in episode 1 and then afterwards she was just crying and all sad and nothing. She needs to TOTALLY bitch it out with Annie, Kelly-style!
And I agree with Ethan. I also think Navid should be killed off, or at least tie his storyline in with Andrea's daughter. I think there is some total potential there.

ok, i liked how the show started off, but the shine has worn off. Ethan is as boring as ever and him and Annie together is even worse than ever. Annie is too perfectly annoying. Naomi is alright...i liked that Ozzie guy (was that his name?); he looked like a mafia boss with his henchmen at that homecoming dance, lol.
that teacher and police officer thing; not really into that either...
so does anyone think this show will surpass 1 season? i think it'll be axed before or at the end of the first season.

I really liked Naomi and Ozzy (yes that was his name). They were pretty cool together and I think they will have alot of fun as Naomi falls into his darkside
Well TheCW has offically picked it up for a 22 episode season so we will AT LEAST get those 22 episodes. There is always a chance for it to be pulled early, but they have spent SO MUCH money in promotion and actors (Jennie Garth, Shannen Dorherty) that it would be alot more benificial for them to air the entire season.
I think we will get at least 2, maybe 3. It is actually doing pretty well (CW standards... any other network it would have been axed by episode 5...) so I think they will try pretty hard to keep the show going.

Okay I am REHOOKED!!!!
Tonight's episode...
I'm actually rather intreaged with McSleaze (Sean). And the entrie episode I felt bad for Dixion, I knew it was coming, and I just hope Dixion can work it out in the end. I think I am really warming up to Dixion, when the show first started he felt very much like... "WE HAVE PEOPLE OF COLOR!!!" but now its like he is his VERY own character.
Dixion and Silver are adorable, but I've said that. I am can't wait too see what happends with that Cheerleader. Christina (the cheerleader) (http://theybf.com/index.php/2008/10/31/ybf-exclusive-lauren-london-heads-to-90210/) will be around for at least 2 episodes, hopefully more. It will be interesting to see what happends, plus maybe this will push Silver and Naomi to be BFFs?
WOULD THAT NOT ROCK!?!?!!?!?!?!!?
Naomi and Ozzy are just perfect. I really love him and he is just the right guy for Naomi, cause he has this way of just being so calm and cool and totally doesn't fall for her shit like everyone else. I'm not sure about her new gang of friends... the Blenz girls? Uhhhhhh...
Okay, also... Is it just me or does Adrianna feel forced? Its like, why is she there? I don't like it. She just feels like a completly different character, and why was she hanging out with Silver? Were was Navid? It was just weird.
Oh and uhh... Brenda! Way to be uberBitch! I thought itwas such a weird thing that Brenda said they had nothing in common. I mean they seemed so close in the first few episodes... I dunno I find it had to watch Brenda I am much more interested in Kelly. Sorry Brenda! You should have never left 90210... No one really cares, once we learned what you were up too we were good.
And one last thing. Bitchy Annie... uhh... no thankyou... Where is that ashtray Aaron used too kill Lilly Kane?
