ok, did any of you notice that Willow's image after S6 was a bit like "eww" or "uugh"? :err: i thought her sense of fashion was lost, even her hair style. i always wondered what happened, some of the clothing she wore were kind of ugly. especially after she came back from her retreat with the witches, and when she goes to the grave to see Tara's tomb, i hated what she wore in that episode.

do any of you feel this way?

Even as a male I never found Willow has particularly 'good fashion sense' mostly she had her own fashion style. However, I'd say in season seven she actually began to dress more fashionable and if anything dressed better that season than she had any other.

Notedly, Willow's fashion changes quite a lot during the series. You'll notice there is a dramatic difference in her fashion style from s3-s4 and from s5-s6.

I actually liked her hair in the seventh season as well, I thought she looked much more mature and sexy than she ever did before.

I find her cute in seasons 1-3, totally awesome in 4... but the hair in season 7... sigh... guess Alyson wanted to grow her hair, but... it didn't work for me!

Yeah i agree what was going on with her outfits :S
And her hair looked a tad flat don't you think?
As i said about her clothes her sense of fashion went i think when she met Tara even though i loved the thing between Willow and Tara it was so cute but do you not think Tara was an influance on her?

Willow's poor clothing choices are pretty much a running joke in the series, but I think they were the worst in s4-5. If you've seen Triangle, you know what I mean; it's just hilarious. Personally her s6 clothing doesn't look bad to me, neither does s7 so far.

As to the hair, I agree with vampmogs, her long hair in s7 makes her look like she's grown a lot over the summer.

EDIT: Also, it seems that the lack of makeup makes it easier for us to see Willow's facial expressions and makes them look more intense.

I think in s7 when willows fashion went down is because she was scared to be herself again in case she turned evil, but i dont know why she decided to gor her hair, maybe they wasnt hair dressers where she was i dunno :s LOL

I really liked the way her hair looked in Season 7, but I have this extreme love for redheads, so I was looking more at the red tones than the length. I liked how it was just more of a plain style, as she had been much more styled in the earlier seasons (4,5,6) whether it be super curly like in season 5 or more straight and layered like season 6. This may be me thinking just too hard on the subject, but I know that season 7 was about going back to the beginning. Maybe her look was kind of a take on what she wore and looked like in the later seasons as well as how she looked in high school.

Often Willow's clothes were terrible, but her image did improve finally, and she came a long way from Season 1 to Season 7.

Her season 7 style was more in fashion (at the time) than her style had ever been. She was wearing pointy-toed heels with jeans even.

And her hair was a reflection of the style at that time as well.

Willow (up until season 7) had her own quirky style that really worked for her. I think that the stylists were trying to show how much she had grown up with her clothing and hair becoming more of a mature style.

In no way did Willow look 'eww' or 'uugh' in season season seven or any other seasons.

Now I thought Willow's hair did look especially drab in S7, but it was much worse in S5 - that short too curled look - uck, really butch IMO. My favorite hair on Willow was in S4, the short kinda spiky at the bottom, like in Hush. Very becoming on her. In S7, it was just so plain, and the hair dressers didn't do much with it.

Her clothing, however were a significant improvement in S6...she finally looked 'normal' so to speak. Obviously S1-3 Willow clothes were supposed to be nerdy, job well done. S4-5 she dressed like a nomad and looked mostly ridiculous. But in S6 her wardrobe finally started showing off her figure and had some style - in other words she finally started dressing like a grown-up. As far as season 7, it's hard to recall exactly what she wore, I'm just pulling up jeans and flannel shirts in my memory, so perhaps it was a bit drab, but it was still a lot better than Seasons 1-5. :)

SarahRegi IMO her clothes were more quirker and fun to look at in earlier seasons of the show but never were they more fashionable, they were far from being fashionable no matter what period they were in. In the seventh season she actually began to dress fashionablly, wether or not you feel it is drab is a matter of opinion I guess and it was drabber than how she used to dress, nevertheless more fashionable though.

well to make it much more specific, the episode where she goes to Tara's grave is what i'm mainly talking about. the clothes she wore in that scene i did not like at all. they looked like rags. but that's the way i see it.

and yes i prefer the much quirkier and fun Willow image from the earlier seasons than after Tara's death.

I didn't read all the other replies.. so if im repeating something that somebody said, im sorry. I think that her clothing as something to do with the evolving of her charecter. In season 1-3 she was kind of a nerd so the cloths were kinda nerdy. in season 4 she grew out of her image of highschool nerd and the cloths has change with her. But in season 6 she felt like crap and aprrently so does her cloths ;)..

She had the manipulative parents syndrome all through high school. You know that, 'yes, my mother does dress me.' thing that some kids had. Always the geeks and the social outcasts. *raises hand* I was always amused that her mother seemed to love pink so much. It was like she couldn't see that her daughter had red/ reddish-brown hair. Bloody awful...

When Will goes away to college there's a distinct change as she struggles to figure out what she likes. Some days she hits the mark... Others she flies right over it...and lands sprawling on her face. By S6 or so that's sort of leveled. I suspect she seeks Buffy/ Tara advice. It's what I'd do... Oz is no use so...through their relationship she's still sort of floundering in fashion hades. Nothing against Oz...just not the fashion guru.

I think the scene with the grave might not be the greatest example just because she is visiting Tara and it's supposed to be kind of a lamenting scene. Personally, when I go to visit graves of loved ones, I still wear the darker, more mournful clothing. I don't know if that's just me though.
