Hi all

It's time for the voting again!

It has been decided that the 4 most voted for shows will have a section on the main page (yes one more than is currently there).

Dollhouse will get a section in the Jossverse Section so that's not on the poll. And no other new show will be up for a section until at least midseason when we can see how much discussion it is getting.

Oh, I will be talking about Heroes, Smallville, Supernatural, Chuck, maybe House, and Weeds. Oh, yes, and Bones.

I'll probably post very vague thoughts on T:SCC, Prison Break, etc.

Oh I've been waiting for this thread!

I voted for HIMYM, T:SCC, Smallville and Supernatural. All shall ROCK!

HIMYM and Doctor Who, most definitely, though probably Smallville if I catch up in time :) And Bones.

I will definitely try to discuss "Smallville," "Supernatural," and "Heroes" every week. I will, however, post thoughts on "Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles," "Lost," "Gossip Girl," and "Weeds" whenever I feel like it. :p

By the way: as much as I lovvve the show, "Weeds" maybe shouldn't be on the poll...? It's season is almost over (we've got 4 episodes left, I believe?) so I can't imagine that discussion would be booming during the fall/spring. Just saying. ;) :p

Thanks for letting me know Heather, I will only give it a section if it gets a huge amount of votes!

No problemo! I just figured I'd let you know about that in case it does come down to "Weeds" versus another show for it's own section. ;) Again, I love the show but I think one thread is fine. I could be wrong, though. Jenni Lou and BlasterBoy may have a lot more discussion ideas lurking in their minds...I'd definitely get in on that action if they come to fruition. :p

 Heather, I love talking about "Weeds" episodes and discussing like "Favorite Character", what you like, what you don't, etc., but I don't think it needs its' own section, especially since it would probably just be us three ;)

AHAH!!!!!!!! "Bones" is fourth woohoo!

I will be discussing "Smallville," "Heroes," "Supernatural, "Terminator," "Gossip Girl," and "Chuck."

And will you also be taking into consideration the amount of discussion they got last season? We've seen it happen almost every year, a show gets voted for and barely discussed. Like, "House" currently has 6 votes, tying it with "Chuck" and "Gossip Girl," both of which were 2 of the 4 most discussed new shows here, and "Smallville," but last season I don't even think it had a thread...

My main concern is "Smallville," but I agree with you. I posted this mini-rant in...a special place...? But I figured that I should post it here, too, just for the sake of fighting for SV to get it's own section (even if it's on the Other Shows page).

I'm a little worried. "Smallville" NEEDS it's own section for discussion. Even if it's on the Other Shows page, it needs it's own section. One thread won't do it since we do episode discussions and spoilers and stuff like that. And it's been a regularly posted-in section when the show is airing new episodes. Maybe not during the summer but during the fall and spring seasons, it's usually booming (ish). But, right now, it's falling behind in the poll. :(

I mean, seriously, "House?" Nobody here discusses "House" enough to maintain it's own section, as great as the show can be. Same with "Gossip Girl" (though I could see GG getting it's own section on the Other Shows page and taking off - spoilers/speculation, character discussions, episode discussions...). And the "Heroes" forum is rarely used, unfortunately...

"Smallville" NEEDS it's own section. Otherwise I'll die.

/rant numero dos

Though, again, I see "Gossip Girl" and "Heroes" potentially taking off as their own sections. There's most likely going to be a lot of things to discuss concerning both of their coming seasons. But "Smallville" deserves (and requires) it's own section on the Other Shows page - otherwise discussion will be next to impossible without having one thread that's full of spoiler tags, miscellaneous character discussion, episode reviews, merchandise discussion, casting decisions, etc...It'd be a mess.

/rant numero tres

:p  Sorry for the rambling!

While I agree with you, I don't  Past discussion shows a lot, but not everything. The lack or increase of votes could be due to someone being more interested than before, or deciding to quit the show. Or maybe you never liked it enough to discuss, but it's gotten so good, you wish to discuss it now.

So, I think some thought should be put into past discussion, but not the majority of it.

I voted Supernatural and Lost.

Not sure if there is much interest in Lost these days. I completely lost (pardon the pun! :p) interest in the show after C4 lost the rights to the show to Sky but having started to watch season 3 and 4 this week. I am hooked again.

Is there a thread in Other Shows? I thought of starting one but I felt a bit cheeky. :)

While I'm on the subject, anyone who stopped watching, season 4 is amazing! if you get the chance to start watching again do because they've really pulled it out of the bag again! :D

Right time for me to shhh now! :p

Yes I take into account the posts each show had last season with the votes. I know all shows had a shorter season but to compare to the other shows running also short seasons it will work out about the same.

Well, we're not suggesting that it be the deciding factor. We just hope that it does play some role. Mainly with "Smallville," I think. SV has always brought in quite a bit of discussion and it usually is a rather "booming" section when the seasons.

But "House" has never had a great amount of discussion (if any). As a matter of fact, the most discussion that I ever see concerning "House" on this forum is just talk about whether or not people like the show and what they like about it. I don't recall there ever being episode discussions or deep discussions. It's a shame, too, because the show IS really awesome most of the time, but it's just not one of those shows that brings in a lot of talk.

Yes I take into account the posts each show had last season with the votes. I know all shows had a shorter season but to compare to the other shows running also short seasons it will work out about the same.

Right, that's totally true. Again, I'm just concerned about "Smallville" getting a section on the Other Shows page since it's always been a consistent section and it can't really be discussed in just one thread - there's far too much to be said (especially with this upcoming season).

LOSTLOSTLOST!!! Bestest show. Bestest! :xd

However, there is a serious lack of Lost love on this board and so I highly doubt it will ever warrant its own section. Even the few threads we have had on the show don't garner too much interest. But I am okay with that. There are Lost-centric forums that are much better for discussing than here at BF. Lost has sooooo many things to discuss and so one really does need to just go to a forum that is solely focused on the show. It's how you get the most information, easter eggs you missed and all those literary/historical references...not to mention great insights and sometimes cool ass theories. So BF is just not a place for Lost, imo. (Btw, I like The Fuselage; I've been frequenting there for years for my Lost discussion needs. :))

I think you may have a point there. There are so many things to discuss about Lost! So many questions to ask!!! The Fuselage looks cool. Very in depth. Looks like a friendly community too. Thanks for that hun. :coffee: :D

I voted for:

Supernatural
Smallville
T:SCC
Chuck

I'll also talk about 24 when it comes around. Possibly Gossip Girl if I get caught up with S1.

I think I'm pretty much done with Heroes and Bones and don't expect to comment much in there.

I voted for Supernatural, Smallville, Heroes, Terminator: SCC, 24, Gossip Girl, Chuck and Bones. Now I cannot promise that I'll post an episode review of these shows every week but I'm certainly gonna try and post my thoughts on these shows as often as possible. :)

I only voted for Smallville. Because that's the only show I can guarantee that I'd actually post about. I might talk about other shows, but smallville's the only sure thing for me.

OH, and I did vote for Burn Notice. Just because I do like to post about it occasionally :xd

i thought Terminator SCC was axed, but it was just a short season.
anyway, heroes and prison break. i also forgot to vote for Lost;;; they've pushed it out for so long, that it's almost forgotten in my mind. the forgotten tv show.

heroes and PB will be the main shows i talk about, while i'll usually just watch Lost, Gossip Girl and Grey's, but not talk about them. i love Grey's though - probably my favourite show at the moment, seeing all my favs have finished.

Maybe i should try something new?

bones is the only one of that bunch i actively watch, talk about (usually on the bones forum) or really have any emotional investment in. dollhouse is probably the one that will be added to that list.

I voted for Terminator and Heroes. There the shows I think I'd most likely post in and did a bit last year. If Heroes gets back on track I'll probably post more, as I came into the show late and only started being able to post for it when the crappy second season was happening. If it's back to the quality it was in the first season I'm more likely to post more.

And Terminator's pretty good, there appears to be a lot of people who have caught up on it since it aired so I'm thinking it'll get more posts this time around.

No, not Chuck :( Why is it losing?

btw, do you know when the poll will close? Just wondering.

"Chuck" is losing in the polls, but last season it got tons of discussion. Meanwhile, "Lost" and "House" are winning, but didn't get as much discussion.

Well I vated for:

Smallville
Supernatural
Heroes
TSC:C
and Gossip Girl.

Those are the mains shows that people in the forum talk about. So I say these should get one. But, Smallville's section didnt do so well last season. Maybe since it's Smalville last season th section will do well.

Nikki
13-08-08, 09:35 AM
Ok I have closed the poll today.

I've taken into account the amount of posts each show got this season and used that with the votes to give each show points.

The sections on the main page will be:
Heroes
Smallville
Supernatural
Terminator: SCC

The subsections will be:
Bones
Doctor Who/Torchwood
Gossip Girl
Lost (In Jan 09 when it starts)
New Shows
Dead Threads

Now this is all subject to change once the new season starts if we see that a show is getting more posts than one that has a section. And we will run another poll mid season.

I will set the sections up by the end of the month for the new season.

If a show you talk about didn't get a section please feel free to start a thread for it where all the episode reviews and discussion can go :)

BlasterBoy

I agree with the main page, but.....

14-08-08, 12:03 AM
I agree, I love "LOST", but the way that it's formatted, it just probably world work best as just one, seasonal thread. 16 episodes over 16 weeks with no breaks.

It doesn't really matter, I guess. I'll be discussing "LOST" ether way, but I just think "Chuck" deserves the section more.

Nikki
14-08-08, 12:42 PM
Well this is all something that can change if the posting requires it to :)
