Challenge 60: Afterlife

Hi guys :)

1. What i'd like you to do: take a character you love and follow from one fandom to another and show me what they have become after first series ended. Like for example Willow became Lily Aldrin in HIMYM or Angel turned into Booth. It's not about actor, it's about funny transformations and reaction of the character to who became or once was if you want to turn it the other way around. Movies are allowed. Please have fun %)

2. In case you love one fandom only: please choose a character and invent him ideal afterlife: perfect new fandom, the most fitting character he can become :)

I think I get the idea for this, so here it is.


This is River to Cameron. It's how the characters are very similar (in away), they are both very strong and powerful women who just happen to be from the far future. I really like how different the characters are as well, River being turned into what she is, while Cameron is not even human.

I am soo loving the idea of this challenge:heart: My entry is (obviously) Booth/Angel seeing as I love David to bits. They are both the same type of character in that they help bring the bad guys to justice be it through killing them (Angel) or bringing them to "human" justice (Booth). Although at least Booth doesn't have a dental problem:D Both characters have their gang to help them achieve this. That's basically it.

Entry One: Vixens

I love Charisma Carpenter. I adore Cordelia Chase, mostly in the first season of Angel because we see her classic Cordelia-ness from BtVS, but then we see her softening up a little more. And then we get Kendall Casablancas in Veronica Mars, who is hussy personified, but by the end (and some of the middle) of the second season and the beginning of the third season, we see there is more to her story than meets the eye. So I showed these two characters and used one of their [many] similar traits to bring this piece together, that they have attitude and they rock the hawt vote. I also added in 'Charisma' text to bring in the actor idea behind the piece. There wasn't too much transformation from character to character for Charisma, especially for first season BtVS Cordelia, but I love them both. :p

Entry One-Veronica/Elle

One of my most recent fandom obsessions has been Heroes, and I absolutely love that Kristen Bell has joined the cast. So for this challenge, I focused on how she went from Veronica Mars to Elle.

First Entry

Okay, my first entry is a little different... I decided to pick out a guest star from one series who went on to another series: Gina Holden. Gina was a guest star in season one of Supernatural in the episode "Wendigo" playing Hayley who went out into the woods in search of her brother to find that there was a Wendigo there that him and was now hunting her and her younger brother. Gina is now in "Blood Ties" as Coreen, Vicky's assistant doing all of her Supernatural research, and I pretty much just grinned when we got a Wendigo episode and Coreen was all knowledgable on them, tee hee. And so here is my piece...

I wanted to show Beth having been a vampire in the past life, in the movie Underworld, and her now suddenly seeing vampires exist, and her shock, etc. etc. Wanted to show beth as being "in the dark" about vampires, and the split between past life and present, hope it makes sense when you look at it, it's 4.47am for me now, so I'm not my most coherent, lol.

For my entry I've chosen Nathan Fillion and the characters of Mal in Firefly and Caleb in Buffy. They are so different that the wall represents the opposite sides of the coin - a good man (Mal) and an evil man (Caleb) and the dark and light of their traits.

What a fantastic idea for a challenge, so many of us have made the transition from old character to new with our favourite actors and this is a fine way to show that. :hug:

Entry One: Broken.

One of the first ideas that popped into my head was Jensen Ackles, whom I first saw many years ago on Dark Angel, since then he appeared on another favourite of mine Smallville before becoming the fantastic Dean Winchester. I chose to make a piece around the two characters of his that I love Alec/Dean.

My entry is about Lily Kane from Veronica Mars, and Sarah Henrickson from Big Love. It took me a while to come up with this, but I think it's a perfect choice, because of the radical transformation between the charecters.

Lily Kane is this bad ass girl, sort of a slut with no rules or morals, and Sarah is the complete opacite of her. Sarah is a shy, good girl and belongs to a religious family with strict rules.

ENTRY TWO

This entry is about Eric Balfour. For all he wasn't in Buffy very long I loved his character of Jesse. The geek who couldn't get a date, especially with Cordelia. I thought he was a great double act with Xander and really would have liked to see more of him....but alas he went all vampire, fell on a stake/pencil(?) Xander was holding and was swept up by the caretaker of the Bronze. :roll:Fast forward a few years and he turns up in one of my fave programmes, 24, playing Milo a computer technician at CTU. So still a bit geeky but way hotter than in Buffy. At least he got the girl this time but alas still died..although there wasn't any stakes this time:D Just wish I could have found a better cap of Jesse:(

I chose to do an entry based on Amber Benson - from her character as Tara on Buffy, to her guestspot on Supernatural s.2 as "reformed" vampire Lenore.

I adore Amber, and her transformation from sweet, stuttering witch to a brunette vampire was amazing to see.

ENTRY THREE

My third and last entry: Faith from Buffy and Angel, and Tru from Tru Calling. With this piece I tried to show that Faith actually went on to being Tru after the Buffy TV-series ended, as a way to "redeem" herself. I know it doesn't actually fit with the plot of Tru Calling, but, hey, artistic freedom! Or we can pretend she was born Tru, when she was called as the Slayer, she became Faith, and then she returned to being Tru again. ;) lol)
