Challenge 59 : What Dreams May Come

For the 59th challenge of this wonderful BuffyForums, I have chosen to focus on death. I don't want art that is showcasing the death itself but the memory of the person who has died. What I am ultimately looking for is memorial pieces. You can use anyone: celebrities, fictional characters, or even someone close to you that has passed away.

Now, these don't have to be sad, dreary pieces. You can choose to celebrate their life with your art or you can choose to mourn them. That choice is up to you. I will not be limiting your creativity at all. Whatever style you find appropriate is perfectly acceptable. All I ask is that you do your absolute best to show me how you feel about this person and/or how their death affected you . . . and that you credit your sources.

Love the challenge and I like it even better cause I already had something done that fits:D

My entry is about Marilyn Monroe who I just adore:heart: Although she died well before I was born her sad life and death has always touched me and I still get a tear in my eye when I watch anything with her in it. She had such a tragic childhood, used by everyone around her which continued into adulthood. She played the dumb blonde to perfection and that's what everyone perceived her to be. In reality she was playing the part of Marilyn and I like to think of her as Norma Jean...the fragile, lonely girl who just wanted to be loved. She was more than just Marilyn Monroe.

As some people on here will know this was my first attempt at a pop-arty thing and thanks again to Signe, ciderdrinker and Jenni Lou for the tips they gave me with this.

Because Lost is back I have been really into Lost fanart. :D So for this challenge I chose a moment in which Locke--who inadvertently is responsible in a way for Boone's death--is confronted by a vision or hallucination of Boone. Boone's death has sort of haunted Locke (even though he thinks it was "a sacrifice the island demanded") and here Boone has come to Locke with a message.

I chose this moment because it was a way that series was able to remember a character who had died nearly a season and a half earlier, by making him a apart of the story, mythology and the development of Locke. I also really liked Boone and so I wanted to fanart this scene in memory of him as well. :)

I always loved Jonathan's path is Buffy. At first he was like the "Gunther" of BtVS and little by little became someone more complex and interesting until his death during CWDP. I focused about THE aspect of Jonathan: loneliness.
He spent is all life trying not to be alone, but that's how he ever lived and died.

My wallpaper is on an actor named Chaney Kley. Most of you will raise your brow and not know who he is, which is sad cause he was a really good actor but never got the chance to show it off. He guest stared as a Vampire in Harmony's gang in "Real Me" he also starred along side Emma Caulfield in "Darkness Falls".

Well the reason I became a fan was I casted him in my virtual series and sadly he died in July 2007 and I was just so shocked and upset, cause I feel he two latest movie would have helped put him on the map.

Explanation:

This is an intensely personal piece for me. In just over a weeks time it will be the anniversary of the death of my best friend from school, college, work, life and everything. She was tragically taken by cancer on March 1st 2005 after a two year battle. Her death has affected everything that has happened to me since then - both good and bad, and I miss her everyday.

She was one of those friends that time and distance doesn't change. I used to talk to her about everything from normal work-a-day problems to in-depth discussions on where I was going to in life and how I got to where I was at the time. She was a very spiritual person and always made me calm - even when I was at my most frazzled. She moved to Australia in 1999, and that didn't stop us from communicating virtually everyday.

When I think of her now I like to think she is watching over me, in a serene place and tut-tutting over my wrong doings. She loved the colour purple and was a complete nature nut, so I have chosen to portray her as an angel surrounded by a beautiful waterfall, with everything around her hued in purples. The words to the song completely sum up my feelings about her and how she still continues to be my strength.

I hadn't really considered that for this challenge, but I am not opposed to it. Just as long as there is some sort of mourning or eulogizing or memorializing going on, I won't say no.

So that wall would be acceptable.

*SQUEEEEEEE* My first challenge entry here... EVERRR!

For this entry, I chose to portray the lose of Doyle from the series Angel.
This is a very touching scene where Angel and Coredilia are sitting to watch what was suppose to be a commercial for Angel Investigations, and then Doyle says 'Is that it? Am I done?' which in a sort of weird retrospect predicts his death. I allmost cried when I watched it.

In my opinion the thing that is memorializing Doyle, is that commercial. I believe that in season 5 they even show that to memorialize the charecter or the actor.

Aah, Mindy! Love you, love the challenge. Especially since the first idea I had when I read the challenge post was to make a Fox Crane piece :xd (Obviously, I'm a lot happier than I should be. I'm sad that he fits the challenge :() Anyway...

First Entry

I love Passions. I love the character Fox Crane. I love Justin Hartley, who portrayed Fox. I still loved Fox, long after Justin Hartley left the show.

Backgroundish stuff:
He first appeared as a charming, funny, mischievous character, who's always been the "black sheep" of the Crane family (though, really, nobody thinks "Gee, the Cranes are good people...") He was always cast aside, since his brother Ethan was the golden boy. Anyway, flash forward, he turns out to be a really decent guy and makes me squeal. Like a lot. And flash forward a little more, and the show tries to ruin his character and devolve him (which made me angry). Then NBC canceled Passions, and DirecTV picked it up. I was sad, because that meant I couldn't really watched Passions anymore. And I was even more sad that Fox was murdered before the move to DirecTV. I would have been sad if I found out that he was murdered after the move, but I was utterly depressed since I had to see it!

Anyway, here's to Fox Crane. Because he's awesome. (Plus, he's hawt. I was going to try to fit the actor who replaced Justin, but apparently they just won't work on a canvas together. It's okay.)

Even though Lilly was dead for most of the show I really liked her. Something about just intrigued me, the way everybody seemed to fall apart when she died made me think she was something really amazing in life. So this is dedicated to the fabulous Lilly Kane.
