Challenge 55 : The Real Me

Hi, everyone! I feel like I haven't been here in ages, but here we go with my fourth challenge! :)

For this challenge I want you to show me the true personality, emotions or style of a character. Forget all the moments when they acted out of character, all the times that they felt they couldn't be themselves, all the times that they wre hiding something. Show me what or who they really are.

You could choose a scene from an episode/film that shows their true character or make a piece that compares them to an animal or a colour (or anything else that shows their true nature). You could make a piece about them discovering their true nature, e.g. Willow becoming a witch (or even just a braver woman) afters years of extreme shyness, or about the true nature that you believe has always been concealed.

It can be a nature that is referred to in the show/film, or your own interpretation of a character (as long as there is some evidence!)

You can make one piece about multiple characters if you wish.

Rules:
Size: 800x600, 1024x768, wallscroll
Entries: Unlimited, I don't mind whether they come all in one post or if you post them as you make them.
Fandoms: Anything, film or TV. I don't watch many of the popular shows, so if you feel that your piece requires an explanation, go for it!
Deadline: 4 weeks, February 7th
Awards: Depends of number of entires, but hopefully many!

Entry One-Angel/Angelus

So for this challenge, I wanted to do a piece on Angel. I feel that Angelus is his true self, the vampire within, while Angel is just a mask that had been brought about by the 'soul'.

Ok this entry revolves around the ambigous character of Sam Winchester. The writers have purposely left his true character open for interpretation, and I chose to depict a scene from this season where Sam crosses an invisible line and kills the crossroads demon (while killing the innocent human as well that was possessed). Now some may argue that this was out of character for Sam, and some may argue that he is finally showing his true colors. I haven't made up my mind one way or another, but in this peice I tried to show Sam's unwilling acceptance of his true nature by his looking away while he points the gun at the girl/demon.

Entry one : Buffy

I've been waiting to enter a challenge like this one ! Really good idea ;)

The first time I saw the episode "Conversations with dead people" (of Btvs season 7), it confirmed something that I've been thinking a lot in the previous years. As much as I adore the character of Buffy, I always felt like, somehow, she's thinking that she's better than others. Of course, when you have super powers and all, it gives you some confidence :) lol. But sometimes, in her conversations and especially, in her arguments with the scoobies, I could feel that she was judging them inferior to whatever situation was going on at the moment.

That's why I chose the exact scene where she admits that sometimes, she feels better than her friends because she's the slayer and so she's going through things they wouldn't understand.

Entry one
I've been meaning to enter this for a while now but no inspiration has really come - until now ;) Rory Gilmore is a bit of a rolemodel for me (Lisa Simpson is on the 1st place ^^). Despite any mistakes she's a nice, smart girl/woman who always tries her best. So I made this piece where I tried to show that she's just such a pure and good person that really, she's like an angel. I used warm colours and flowers to represent summer, warmth, joy and hapiness. Anyway, that's the gist on the piece...

So I chose Benjamin Linus from Lost! 'Cause Lost if love, yo.

So Ben is this mysterious character and no one really knows what he is all about. Is he good? Is he bad? How long has he been on the island? Why is he there? Well, we finally get some answers in his very first character-centric episode "The Man Behind the Curtain." And we discover that he became the leader of the seemingly nefarious Others by killing his own father, along with 40(!) or so of some folks on the island known as the Dharma Initiative.

So I made this wallpaper to sort of encapsulate him and his horrific deeds and how he came to become the leader of the island's inhabitants. Finally, we saw the real Benjamin Linus!

So this is my piece. My favourite character from Buffy is Willow, and I love her dream is Restless and it really strips her down to what she thinks she is, and is afraid of everyone realizing. I used this bit of dialog between her and Buffy in Wrecked when Tara breaks up with her.. it feels very reflective of the part of her that is self loathing.

Really good challenge :D

I chose to do Blade from the first Blade movie. If your not familiar with him, hes half vampire half human. His mother got bitten when she was pregnant. Blade can go out in the daytime, has superhuman powers but he still has to feed, usually he has a serum he injects... But the moment i chose was when he needed his serum but didnt have any so he had to drink human blood....Underneath all the crap the real him is a vampire!!
