Challenge 54: First times

Rightio, my first challenge.
I really wanted to do something purely fun, because you know... why else are we on the internet making pictures of TV characters?

So here's the deal.
Think back. What was the first thing that lured you online, and into fandom?
Was it just a certain TV show, that you just had to pay tribute to?
Was it a pairing? We're you lured online with the desire to make shippy art?
Or was it a first fanfic? Something that made you go "WOAH".

Well, whatever it was, show me! Make it pretty!

And dont just stop at the very first thing. Show me the first moment you fell in love with your OTP (if you have one).
Or the first episode you saw of your current favourite show.

Just, have fun!

Oh, and remember to include a brief description of whats going on, and why its important to you. :D

What was the first thing that lured you online, and into fandom?

Roswell. Buffy soon followed. But I fell in love with Roswell after I just happened to watch the first episode. Which is weird because I never really watched tv before it. Hard to believe now. :lol: Anyway, that's how I discovered BuffyWorld and fanart and whaddya know? Here I am now! :hug:

So I chose to collage the Pilot. I chose random but significant images from the first episode. And the main character, Liz, writes in her journals and we hear her writings though voice-overs. And so I incorporated those thoughts onto a little journal book. :) And the coloring is a little yellow/green and vivd, but I wanted that as I wanted to give off a bit of the alien vibe...which also can be found in a texture at the top from a cap of the alien's skin cells.

Really cool challenge :D

My obsession with Spuffy is the reason why I started arting. Actually, I wasn't a big fan of Buffy at the beginning. Then one night, me and one of my friend were watching "out of my mind", from season 5, and that's where it all started :) The fact is, I've always been a big shipper for impossible relationships :P

I had Photo Studio back then so I started arting Spuffy, but ONLY Spuffy, for at least... I'd say 2 years ? lol That's also how I discovered a lot of fanart sites, because they had some spuffy art :)

So my entry for this challenge is based on the first spuffy episode I've ever seen. I wanted to show their love/hate/passion relationship, so that's why there's fire :D hihi

Buffy and Angel. They are the ultimate for me. My one and only and ever OTP. Bangel was the first passion that I had in any fandom, and it introduced me to fanfiction, first and foremost, and then fanart following a few years later. No matter what new endeavor I took on, it always started with Bangel, in some capacity. While my passion has sinced branched since then, the relationship between Buffy and Angel will always have a special place in my heart. I even got a freaking Claddagh tattoo because of my love for them, come on now! :p The lyrics are cheesy, but I adore Savage Garden, and it just fit. :heart:

Same has Bre my first OTP was Buffy and Angel, that's what lured me on-line looking for some pictures of them on google, and came across a piece that Zugma had done, and it inspired me to do art like that and that's how I'm here today! But before that I gained a load of BTVS books off my Cousin which she no longer used, and in that there was a Watchers Guide which when I read I totally fell in love which pushed me to go searching online. So I decided to do a piece on Bangel, and that they were each overs first love just like it was mine, the watchers guide is where my obssesion totally started and grew from, so I place that in Buffy's hand, because without that none of this would of started :D

Entry One-B/F

What lured me online and into the art of fandom was my OTP, Buffy and Faith. I had been in love with them since 'Bad Girls' and I started coming online, reading fanfics and looking at art. My very first pieces were Fuffy pieces, and here I continue that.

Entry Two-Every Me and Every You

When I first fell in love with the pairing of Buffy and Faith, it was in the episode Bad Girls, when Faith drew the heart on the window and Buffy left with her. So, of course I had to make a piece of that for this challenge.

Another Bangel piece over here ;) Buffy and Angel is what kept me watching BtVS when it started, and this moment was the first time I was really moved by a moment between them.. because there was more going on, then what was said. Plus I've always wanted to do some good art on this moment in Reptile Boy. To me Buffy's statement 'no (I know this isn't a fairytale). When you kiss me I wanna die' means that she's so into him that part of her wants to be a vampire like him, so the relationship would be possible.

Well, my 'first time' :lol:

I first was drawn to an on-line fan site by the TV show Alias...there I learned how to first begin fanarting and fanfiction. But more specifically, the ship of Sydney and Vaughn....thus I decided to make an S/V peice...which I haven't done for years...:p

Great challenge:)

Buffy and more importantly Bangel is the reason I went online and soon this whole new world opened up for me. Firstly I found all the fan videos that people had made and it totally floored me. I now have about 8 cd's made up with the stuff I downloaded and spend many a happy night with the hubby reminiscing about Buffy. Anyway, I'm digressing a bit:) This led me to fanart and Peace, Nikki and Dana's sites and seeing their fabulous work made me want to do my own. Now I've found a wonderful group of people here that I get to share the Buffylove with:2party: So I decided do an entry on my favourite TV show and one on my favourite couple of all time.

This was the scene in BtVS that I can remember drawing me into the show and the Buffy/Angel saga. I can remember being so overtaken by the emotion portrayed by the actors and so overcome by the need to see it take it's course. A few episodes later I was emerged and obsessed and the rest my friend, they say, is history.

Not many people know this but my first "web site" (it was a MSN-group) was dedicated to Stuart Townsend. Buffy came later (a month or so ;)) My first screen-name was "StuTow" (yeah, I'm full of embarrassing facts...). Anyhow, that's why I have arted Stuart Townsend and not Buffy. I guess I really should've arted something to do with Anne Rice because that's where the whole Townsend obsession started... Ah well, maybe I'll throw in another entry later ^^

The thing that lurred me online, more specifically into the world of fanart is Buffy the Vampire Slayer. I was obsessed with the show (and still am ;)) but especially with Buffy herself. I loved the fact that she was a young empowered female and I loved Sarah Michelle Gellar's portrayal (I used to have tons of pictures of her on my walls. :p). So, that's why I chose to art Buffy and I picked a Season Two promo picture because the first BtVS episode I've ever watched was S2's Bad Eggs.

Well, I got to thinking about it last night and remembered the first time I ever saw even a few minutes of Buffy. One evening while channel surfing I saw a really hot guy....later to be called Angel...and stopped. Quite a story, right? Well, anyways, it turned out a girl was in love with a vampire, which again peaked my interest. So this is actually the exact moment I became a Buffy-holic. :)
