What are the best Buffy books? I am mostly interested in nonfiction - something available for my kindle. I keep looking and not buying because...what if it's not the right book?

Nonfiction? Do you mean books like Mark Field`s Myth, Metaphor and Morality, then? I can not recommend that one, but there are more nonfictional books like that around, I think.

I'm not sure about "best" but Rhonda Wilcox's Why Buffy Matters is a worthwhile book. It's arranged in two parts - chapters dealing specifically with episodes and other chapters dealing with panoramic BtVS concepts and themes. It's a good book overall, I thought.

Patricia Pender's I'm Buffy and You're History: Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Contemporary Feminism is also good but I haven't read it as deeply as the Wilcox book.

Last month someone gifted me Lorna Jowett's Sex and the Slayer: A Gender Studies Primer for the Buffy Fan, and it seems really good so far, but I haven't read through enough yet.
