30 Second Rule

Not the one we have, but a different one. In the Games section, do you think it would be possible to have a function where people can only post every 30 seconds in the threads, cause we've been having confusion with people posting at the same time.

What I mean by this is someone posts, and then nobody else can post in that thread for another 30 seconds.

This would help a lot because we're having to recount our votes when many people are on. And we have to do it every few posts. Help, please :)

I think That this is a great Idea and I suggested this in the Games Section becuz it is every few Posts we have to recount and then after we recount a few Posts later we have to do it again. If u want proof Please read ththread Entitled "The New buffy Elimination Game" From pages 16 to about 30 and u wiill see the Confusion that Me, Ben, and Many others would like to get rid of. We (the games folk) have been actually wondering about this for awhile. Sometimes it gets ridiculously congested in the threads and multiple people will vote at once and it makes the game rather impossible.

But guys....I don't know if there is an option to change the post time like that...let alone in only one forum...and not affecting the other forums.

But if you do have a few minutes to look into it, Nikki, I know we would appreciate it. Some of the games are just impossible at times. Sometimes there will be not posts for several hours and then all of a sudden all the players are online and it becomes an absolute madhouse!!

Unfortunately it's not possible to stop posts being made at the same time anywhere on the forum.

The only option is time delay between people's posts. But that is just for the individual, at the moment that is 15 seconds and all it means is after I click post on this I won't be able to make another post in this thread for 15 seconds, it doesn't affect anyone else's ability to post.

I could look into a possible hack, but honestly the database doesn't know when people are about to post, the quick reply box is always there and if the forum did stop a post going through because one just did the person would lose their post and that would be more annoying for everyone else as I'm sure an option like this wouldn't be available for just one section of the forum.

And also, it's not 15 seconds between each time on can post, it is 30. ;)

Oh ok, it was 15 on BW so people could chat more in the VIP section, hasn't really needed me to lower it here yet :lol:

Anyway, closing this as we can't resolve it :)
