Sarah Michelle Gellar's new show the Ringer premiere's tonight at 10/9 C on the CW! I'm fairly spoiler free and only know the rough plot, but I'm excited with the potential of the series. Not to mention that Jason Dohring will have a role later in the season.

I'll also create a first episode discussion thread as well, but this one is for people to discuss any hopes or excitement they have about the show before actually seeing it. I want to hear who is going to watch and at least one reason why you are curious to turn into the show! :D

Thank goodness I found out this show is gonna air tonight! I thought it was airing next week. Whew! :2party: For the most part I'm watching it because of Sarah. I'm a BtVS fan to the core and like to follow the actors from the series (Angel as well) on other shows/movies. I'm also intrigued that Ioan Grufford is gonna be in it. I can't wait!

I'm so excited for this!!! I'm so happy that Sarah is back in a TV series, whether it's as good as everyone hopes it'll be I'll be addicted anyway, for sure. Sarah is an amazing actress and I'm sure she'll make this show compelling viewing.

I'm also very excited for this pilot to air! :D I cannot wait to see SMG back on TV and I'm also looking forward to Jason Dohring guest starring on Ringer. I think the premise of the show sounds interesting, I like that we get to see SMG in two roles in one show. That will surely allow her to show off her versatility. :)

Oh yay! Glad to have helped! It's so hard to keep up with show premieres and this is practically the first one! I'm seeing ads everywhere online (which makes me happy!) so hopefully people will notice and not miss the premiere. :3party:

I'm not dedicated like you, but I do always get a thrill to see BTVS/ATS members in shows. Actually, I'd say the last time I've specifically watched a new show for a member was Bones. And I think the Ringer looks to have a lot more juicy potential from the start. :D

I know what you mean, I hoping the set up will be so that regardless of it being an SMG show that the mystery and character interactions will be addicting. I'm not the biggest SMG fan, but I love her so much from Buffy that I feel I have to tune in and support her return to tv.

The genius to cast Jason Dohring really gives me hope on the show! I'm dying until his character appears! :xd

i am just curious about how this show is going to work out, being on the CW and all, will it work out viewer wise, yeah Sarah is going to be on the show which is so awesome I love her she was awesome in BTVS, but i hope that other viewers love her as much as we do, i don't know how the out come will be because it's not on yet, but no matter what the out come is i would still be willing to give Ringer a chance later on, because i know i am going to forget that it's coming on tonight, i can watch it when there are reruns of this show.

That's the thing though, the CW seems to take shows that have abysmal ratings and just continue to push out seasons no matter how much no one is watching *coughOneTreeHillcough*. :err:  Ringer isn't going to need the same numbers on the CW like it would have needed on CBS to become a success. I think sheer SMG fan power is enough to easily continue the show into a second season even if the show is terrible. :p

Of course I'm watching this for Smidge, I love her. I honestly think my mother is going to watch it as well considering she just told me that it was on tonight (granted I already knew) and she's not even a Smidge stan. And frankly I think that's exactly what's going to happen with this show. People who just so happen to know of Sarah Michelle Gellar will just tune in to see what's up. I always find it odd that people are like "but it's on the CW now, they play to a certain demographic, no one outside of it will watch!" Umm, how many people only watch shows on specific channels and nothing else? That makes no sense. It's called channel surfing for a reason. You flip through the channels until you find something that suits your fancy. You're not looking at the networks name and going "oh I can't watch that show, it's on that channel." I can understand that type of thinking when you start getting into those high numbers on cable/dish ( ;) ) where you're not going to find that every day, non-porn variety programming http://i243.photobucket.com/albums/ff299/holypotatoes_photos/Smilies/winknudge.gif, but on other channels/networks, no that viewpoint makes no sense.

you have good point there, i love SMG she is so awesome, i am not like that if i wanna watch a show i am going to watch it i don't care who is in the show as long as the show is good and the actress and actors are good and the plot of the show has to be good to drag me to watch it :), i hope i didn't miss it, i probably did :(, i can always watch it when it comes on in a rerun :).

Yay that's great news! :D Thanks for posting this! It's nice to know that SMG still has many loyal fans. Hopefully viewers will stick with the show and give it time to grow and keep tuning in. I guess a few people also watched the pilot due to the novelty factor.
