So, season three has ended. What did everyone think? I'm a little worried because it works pretty well as a series finale. In fact, it works VERY well as a series finale. But I thought for sure it would be renewed because it does very well on Showtime, I thought. Anyone know what's up with this?

In any case, if it were to be the last ep, I love the way it went out. It was quite perfect with Majestic burning down and Nancy making a decision to move on. There were a few looses ends...like with Celia, Nancy and the DEA.

I like how Silas was suddenly "over" Tara. She was totally Jesus-crazy. I also loved Doug's banjo and singing throughout the recreation center.

So, any thoughts on the finale or season three or the show at large?

The last scene of the finale was amazing! And yeah it definitely felt very series finale-ish but I read it was renewed for s4 so I'm not TOO worried. Although filming will probably be affected by the strike.

Doug+Banjo=OTP. Seriously Doug should go around with a banjo in every episode.

I LOVED the scene with Isabel and her dad. Damn is she turning into her mother or what lmao. "You have to stop being such a pussy because I won't always be around." hee!

Really loved when Nancy pretended to talk to Judah because Shane didn't want to leave. This whole Shane sees Judah thing is pretty weird though. I liked when he asked Isabel if she was really a lesbian and she asked him about talking to his dead dad and he got all uncomfortable. Poor Shane.

And uh-oh. Looks like Conrad is realizing that him and Nancy have absolutely nothing in common except for weed. This makes me sad. :( Although Guillermo is kind of hot and surprisingly insightful. I actually thought Nancy was going to kiss him when they were standing on the hill looking at the burning valley. I bet they pursue that relationship next season.

So a lot of people have been hating on season 3 but I loved it just as much as the last two seasons. Okay not as much as season 2 which is my definite favorite but I still think it's pretty great.

Oh, I agree. I thought that scene was spectacular. For a thug he's like...a nice, caring guy. He sees Nancy doesn't belong in this life and he sort of softly pushing her to see it too. But I like how he offered her a higher position on the drug distribution ladder. I definitely see some sparks. But yeah...poor Conrad. :(

Whatever! I thought ti was fantastic. It had me riveted. I  Weeds. It's so fun and quirky and well done.

Thanks for the heads up on a s4. I actually hadn't heard that anywhere and I am usually really on top of these things. :s

I've only seen the first two episodes but so far, I'm loving it SO much!

I was a bit skeptical at watching the show at first, because the premise is a bit iffy. But, I want to compare it to Buffy. The name is so misleading, making you think it's such a stupid teen show, but it's not.

I love the actress who plays Nancy and her breakdown at the end of the episode. All the characters are so interesting and I loved the videos with Nancy's husband, when Shane watches them. And is that Supernatural!Dad I spy? :p

I have more thoughts, which I'll come back to later. Just gotta say, love it.

Yeah, I have been a big Mary-Louise Parker fan since the early nineties. She's so very cool and offbeat. And yes! That indeed is Jeffery Dean Morgan.

Keep watching! You'll be so surprised how much Celia and Doug grow on you. I really love those two characters. They are such horrible people but fun and utterly hilarious.

And just wait till Andy comes to join the cat! :D He's a hoot. You'll see. ;)

Celia, I love! She's just the worst soccer mom you could have lol! Doug is okay, but not sure who he is in Nancy's life. He keeps her money and is one of her clients? Well, I loved him just randomly throwing stuff at Nancy haha!

I'll wait and see who this Andy fella is :D

Yeah, he is an accountant and she is a client and friend. He doesn't have the largest part in s1, if I recall, but he gets to do some downright wacky stuff later on!

Just finished 1x04!

Loved all of them so far, but 1x04 was definitely my favorite! Nancy's brother in-law is hilarious and I hope we see more of him! The Baker who was obsessed with excersize was the highlight for me, though! She was just hilarious, and Mary-Louise Parker played that scene brilliantly! Plus, I love Silas's girlfriend, Megan, a lot more than Celia's older daughter. Speaking of Celia, how AMAZING was that ending?! I won't put it in spoiler tags because it's a year old, but Celia has cancer! I hope she doesn't die :(

Overall, an amazing show so far. It is hilarious but shows amazing hints of drama as well as amazing acting. Love this show, so much!

Yeah, Andy sticks around for the long haul. ;) But Celia's older daughter might be a different story. :) I don't think that's really spoilery stuff for you so I thought it okay to mention. But yeah, Andy is just so wacky and funny. Just wait until you see what kind of hijinks he gets into in the coming eps and seasons. I won't let you in on Celia's fate but she's also gets into some wacky adventures herself, as does all the cast.

It's such a great show and I am glad you are enjoying it, Ben! I watched the whole first season in two days. And the whole second in just one. I couldn't stop myself! :D

The first season is pretty expository; it sets up everything and gets the characters established. Season two really delves into a lot more issues. I prefer it to the first myself. :) So if you like 1, you'll love 2! :D

We had a Weeds thread before but I think it got moved to Dead after a lack of posting in it. There's not a lot of Weeds watchers. Namely there is me and Heather and Joe and you!

YAY for more Andy! Does that mean we see more of Celia's older one? Eh, she's okay, I guess. I never really liked her, but she was only in the Pilot, and in that I loved her totally pissing Celia off

If only I could finish the season tonight, I would. But, since I'm watching them online, it takes about an hour to load and find, so....:s I need to buy them, like....now

I see them on sale all the time! I actually got my s1 for $19. And I see s2 a lot of $22 or so. Totally worth it, if you ask me. :crush:

Good luck on the watching though! I'm off to watch me some more Battlestar Galactica. woo!

Watched 1.06 "Lude Awakening" and forgot to comment on it. So, here I go!

First off, I love Celia so much! I love how she gave away all her belongings and how the maid wanted everything there and tried to steal the stuff Celia gave to Nancy!

For some reason, I don't seem to like Doug very much :s I mean, he's okay, but not that funny. I did love this line, though: "What do you call the thing between the dick and the assh*le?" "The coffee table".

I'll comment more on everything later, but I want to get the Boxset first and watch all of them again in order + special features

Well, Doug doesn't get much to do in the first season. But he is a huge comic relief later on. He totally grew on me and maybe he will on yout oo. :)

Ah man I love this show. Watched the first 2 seasons in about a week and then took it a little slower with season 3, really glad to see it's coming back for season 4, I think my favourite character is Andy, he's just really really funny and I think so far my fave season has been 2, but I've really enjoyed them all.

Back again :)

I just finished Season 1 and WOW! I really, really loved it! Celia's development is absolutely amazing, and then she goes back again! It's so interesting that it delves into what a near death experience can do. Shane kinda sucks, also. I mean, he is one messed up ten year old boy. But he's ten! It's not like he's three!

My favorite episodes have been 1.06 "Dead In The Nethers" (because it's just so damn fun! The party is great and I loved seeing Celia and Conrad go together and seeing Nancy's two lives combine is great), 1.09 "The Punishment Lighter" (because it opens up a whole new theme in Weeds. The whole idea of other dealers going after her and making alliances with others, etc. is just very well thought out. I really, really love this episode! Also, Shane so deserved that punch. Might possibly be my favorite!), and 1.10 "The Godmother" (because so much happens! All the storylines come plunging together! Silas's story and how Nancy's losing him, Shane's lonliness, Nancy's need for a romantic life and friends and family, her business, Andy's craziness, all of it! Loved it. Can't wait for next season.)!

My least favorite episode has to be 1.07 "A Higher Education" because I didn't like any of the storylines, other than Celia's. Celia's storyline is amazing because I loved seeing her change. So, I can't say I disliked it, because part of it I loved.

Love this show so damn much!

1.09 "The Punishment Lighter" (because it opens up a whole new theme in Weeds. The whole idea of other dealers going after her and making alliances with others, etc. is just very well thought out.

Yeah, this is sort of theme that recurs throughout the series. You'll be seeing many more alliances as well disconnects. It be cool.

I think one of my fave Weeds scenes ever is from season one's 1.05 Lude Awakening:

Celia Hodes: Everyone thinks I've lost my mind.
Shane Botwin: Everyone thinks I'm weird.
Celia Hodes: Well, I can see how you might give that impression.
Shane Botwin: I really don't care what they think.
Celia Hodes: Good for you. Let your freak flag fly.
Shane Botwin: Really?
Celia Hodes: Really. I've recently stopped giving a shit what anyone thinks, and I gotta tell you, I feel great.
Shane Botwin: But you have cancer.
Celia Hodes: And you have a dead father. Both of us make people really uncomfortable. There's no way around it. So either we can feel all self-concious and pretend that everything's normal, or we can just be our strange selves.
Shane Botwin: Thanks, Mrs. Hodes.
Celia Hodes: For what?
Shane Botwin: For telling me the truth.
Celia Hodes: You're welcome. It's a bitch, though, ain't it?

Man, I got a little misty-eyed. It's so lovely. And you see Celia as ulnerable and human and she is being *gasp* nice.

On to season two, Ben!!! Come on, now! :p I'm glad you are liking it. There needs to be more Weeds fan. For realz.

I really love that scene, too! It made me like Celia even MORE. Celia and Nancy are tied for my favorite character, because both are so complex but so completely different. I can't wait to see how Celia turns back into her old bitchy self now that her cancer is not life threatening.

Season 2, yeah! :2party:  Tomorrow, hopefully ;)

Sorry for double post, but....

Oh. My. Gawd.

Okay, I had to. This season has been one of the best seasons of television ever. Every episode ends with a huge dramatic and amazing cliffhanger. It's 10 times funnier than Season 1 and 10 times dramatic than Season 1. It's mind blowing. It's....amazing. I just finished 2x10 "Mile Deep and a Foot Wide", and I have two more episodes in the season to finish. But, I'm amazing. Mary-Louise Parker is easily my favorite actress after her performance in 2x09 "Bash". Her smashing of the donkey was chilling. And the usage of songs! Such as 2x02's cliffhanger ("I know you're a drug dealer") and 2x04's cliffhanger ("Megan's pregnant, and we're keeping it"). Also, the humor's outstanding, STILL.

In this episode, 2x10, Andy's crazy ex from Alaska comes and at first she is AMAZING comic relief. I was literally on the floor laughing. Her, "I'm tired. The food looks nice. I wrote a book." *falls to sleep* is just hilarious. But, her scene with Andy in the car is great. "We've done so many felonies. I'm publishing it as fiction." "Then, why'd ya come out here?" "To save you." I love it.

I love this show. It's become one of my all time favorites. "Weeds" rules.

PS: Peter's a bitch. Spying on Nancy like that :(

Jenni Lou

I am so glad you have become a fan! (And of BSG too. ;)) Two truly great shows. Season 1 hooks you and then damn! Season two comes along and you're left like "wha??" "eek: Because it's so totally amazing and awesome.

I've been a Mary-Louise fan for well over a decade and am so glad she found a project that gets her recognized and that gives her consistently good material to work with.

And Ben? Season three just keeps the awesomeness flowing. ;)

BlasterBoy
19-01-08, 08:01 PM
OMG.

No, let me rephrase that.

OMFG.

Peter's a heartless bitch....so, he was killed  I can't believe Hallya did that! And the cliffhanger!? And the ending to 2.11 "Yeah, Like Tomatoes"!? Let me start at 2x11.

Loved it, and it made me hate Peter even more! I already hated him as a love interest, but as he stomped on Conrad, I despised him. And Nancy's reaction in that scene is remarkable. But, the highlight of this episode is the end, and is definitely one of my favorite scenes of the series (the endings this season have been remarkable). When she takes the ax and breaks through the door and sees that Silas stole all the Drug Free stuff for Nancy! :( Mary-Louise Parker does it again.

The finale was fantastic, and my favorite episode of the series, I think! I LOVED the graduation scene! Somehow, I knew Shane was going to do that. "You have failed us!"  I also loved how Gretchen was jealous of Shane and Kat! Hilarious! I'm a bit said that Kat left for Pittsburgh, but glad that she brought Shane along with her, because that means we HAVE to see more of her. I also loved how "Abumchuck" was afraid of pissed off Celia. Celia's reaction to shooting a gun was priceless. But, the best scene in the episode was the scene where all five men have their guns pointed at Nancy, who doesn't have the weed. Mary-Louise Parker does it AGAIN, and the song used it amazing! The last shot of all the men pointing their guns, Conrad's head down, and Nancy looking up towards the sky while the camera does an over head shot of the vault ("Drug Free Zone") is truly amazing. I can't wait for s3 to come out of DVD. I'm pissed now that I can't watch it immediately! :(

Season 2 was amazing.

Jenni Lou
19-01-08, 09:32 PM
I told you, dude. S1 hooks you and then s2 blows you away. After the last ep I was like  .... I need more! What happens?! ACK!

The s3 finale is equally strange and full of crazy cliffhangers. Just you wait! Although I wish you didn't have to. You may be able to find them somewhere online to view them perhaps. Legally, of course. But maybe. Nonetheless, networks have been good about streaming shit nowadays.

BlasterBoy
20-01-08, 09:21 PM
I just saw the first two episodes of s3 online, and OMG! THEY F*CKIN' RULED!

I've gotta say I'm scared for Nancy. She has a deal with U-Turn, but I like Marvin and have a feeling he's going to kill U-Turn for Nancy. I'm quite said that Heylia and Conrad turned their backs on Nancy :( Poor Nancy! And I'm also pissed that Kat left, because she was priceless. I'm also shocked that Celia now knows Nancy's a drug dealer!

The last scene was so amazing. Why does Mary-Louise Parker have this one amazing scene in every episode!? Just amazing.

Overall, I loved, loved, LOVED these two episodes.

WHEN IS THE DVD COMING OUT!? ANYBODY KNOW!?

Heather

It's unknown when the Season 3 Boxset will be released. I've check my "sources" at least once everyday since the finale aired and there's been absolutely nothing. When I find something, I'll be sure to post it in here for those interested but, at the moment, I have no clue. There isn't even any boxart for it, at least not online.

Anyone want some majorly good news about "Weeds" season 4...?

Thanks to an interim deal struck between the WGA and Lionsgate, writers for AMC's Mad Men and Showtime's Weeds are free to get back to work and start on scripts for Seasons 2 and 4, respectively. Of course, the possibility of a June SAG strike could dampen this good news, but....

WGA West prez Patric M. Verrone issued a joint statement with his East Coast counterpart, Michael Winship, in response to the deal, saying "Lionsgate ... signing an interim agreement again confirms that it is possible for both writers to be compensated fairly and respectfully for their work and for companies to operate profitably."

So the writers are now officially back on the job for Weeds season 4! Granted, they may not be able to actually film the full season - the SAG (aka: the actors) have an "impending strike" starting on June 1st. But they could get several episodes in the bag if they start soon.

But WOO! I'm so excited! :D

oh yeah, I heard about that. Very cool indeed.

I also read some spoilers about s4.

Question: Do you know when Weeds will be coming back with new episodes? — Cassandra
Ausiello: Production on Season 4 starts next month and the first episode airs June 16. Prepare yourself for a radically different show, though. When we pick up, Nancy and family are living in a small town near the Mexican border and her little operation has gotten a lot bigger.

oooh....sounds cool, if you ask me. A new direction too...

HAve you caught up with all the seasons yet, Ben? Or are you waiting for s3 to come out?

Honestly? I got Weeds s2 for Easter after renting it and seeing it. Now I just did a rewatch in two days with my sister (who I hooked  ), and now I'm really, really, really tempted to watch s3 online. And now that I see it will start June 6th....I kind of need to watch online. So, I will :xd

OMFG. OMFG. OMFG. OMFG.

I know this is a double post....but OMFG. OMFG.

I've seen the first six episodes, and yes, yes, YES! 3x06 "Grasshopper" is one of my all-time favorites, and "Doing The Backstroke"/"A Pool and His Money" is definitely my favorite season premiere of all three seasons. Honestly, if the season keeps going this way, it's going to become my favorite season, even though I loved Season 2 so damn much. And SO much is happening. I loved Andy's army thing and how is buddy was so eager to go to war and then boom :( And I also love Nancy this season. Like, she is so fan-frickin'-tastic  The ending to 3x05 with the heroin  Also, great song choice for every episode! The song choice for Season 2/3 has been awesomeness. Pure awesomeness. And Nancy's brick dance in 3x03 "The Brick Dance"?  But, I have no idea what Nancy's going to do next. I predicted it (well, I thought it was going to be for Nancy). U-Turn's dead. Marvin killed him. Marvin gets everything. What will Marvin do with Nancy? Will she still be in debt? Or will he let her go? Plus, U-TURN'S DEAD!

Love it. LOVE it.

Heather

Oh, just in case anyone's out of the loop with "Weeds" these days, the season four premier will air on June 16th! Yayyy! And does anybody want a slice of spoiler pie while I'm here?

*MAJOR SPOILERS FOR ANYONE WHO HASN'T SEEN THE END OF SEASON 3! SERIOUSLY. DO NOT READ!*

Apparently, Nancy and her family will be located close to the Mexican border. And as for her drug dealing business? It's bigger than ever.

What I'm curious about is how they ended up by the border and how/why Nancy expanded her business. Was I the only one who thought that Nancy burning down her house was her way of letting go of the drug dealing lifestyle? Her way of moving on? Maybe this is what the writers want to do? Maybe how she got roped back into the job will be a mystery that's only hinted at for a part of the season and then we'll find out exactly why?

And how will Celia and Doug and Conrad and everyone else (that's not Nancy, Andy, Silas, and Shane) be involved in the show what with the very new locale? Ahh!

I'm so excited for season four. Lordy, how I've missed this show!

OMFG. OMFG. OMFG. OMFG.

Love it. LOVE it.

Yeah, s1 hooks you real fast and then s2 is like so awesome and then s3 comes along when you think it couldn't get any better!

Marvin is an interesting character. I really liked him ... but then he pissed me off. I thought he was all cool with Nancy and then he becomes a huge dick. :p (And yes....I will swear in here if I feel like it 'cause--let's face it--it's a show with swearing and nudity! :D)

What you said. I was thinking that perhaps she does get roped back in somehow and I am wondering is she might still be involved with Guillermo and his operation or something. 'Cause it seemed like that could happen.

As for the rest of the characters....I want them all back!!! I hope they are all still around. Celia seemed to be in a pretty big pinch so maybe she follows Nancy's lead or something. Anyway....any new Weeds sounds great to me!!! :D

Yeah :p  I love Marvin, but then "He Taught My How To Drive By" came along...and now I dislike him. He's so dumb to Nancy :( And I'm glad Nancy screwed him over. She so deserved it.

I forgot to add this, but in "Grasshopper", when U-Turn's pronounced dead, I love Nancy's face. Mary-Louise Parker captures it so perfectly. It's a mixture between sadness, shock...., and happiness.

"He Taught Me How To Drive By" is excellent and another 9.5 or 10 episode, but I didn't think they'd do that much nudity  Usually they do it here or there or a hint of it, but holy cow

ANOTHER double post....but...wow.

Right now I can't produce a coherent review so tomorrow I will definitely post a "Season Three: In Review" with a review of "Go", probably my second favorite "Weeds" episode ever, right after "Pittsburgh". It had the best balance of comedy and drama, with Doug's banjo, lunatic Tara, and other stuff, but it also had the amazing scenes with Guillermo and the burning of the house :( The ending was just perfect and the whole "moving on" thing is just fantastic. I loved the song playing at the end and Nancy talking to Judah :( :cutecry: It felt very series finale-esque, but luckily we have a Season 4. I can't wait to see how they do it

Deleted last post cause I don't want a triple post

Welcome, to my coherent "Weeds: Season 3" review! :xd :bounce:

Once again, "Weeds" has managed to make me cry, laugh, and gasp....all at once. It just keeps "flowing the awesomeness" (Jenni Lou :p). This season in particular the "Weeds" music is outstanding. I mean, "Chariot", "Jesus", "Rocky Spine", "Keepsake", etc. are all outstanding songs  Also, the cliffhangers have been just....mind blowing. The character growth, the individual parts of the season, the new characters and storylines, just everything. Just wow.

I guess I'll start with the acting. Um....hand Mary-Louise Parker that emmy (which I believe she didn't win *sigh), because wow. This show belongs to her, because her character, her storylines are all not real if her acting wasn't the way it was. The way she expresses everything is just so perfect. My favorite scenes of her acting this season have to be the last scene in 3x02 "A Pool and His Money" (cause her face when she comes back up to the surface after screaming in the pool is...woah), the last scene in 3x05 "Bill Whatsthename" (because of she finally realizes what shit she's in, and her face when she realizes it), the scene where U-Turn dies in 3x06 "Grasshopper" (because of that face, again, you can see all her emotions, shock, sadness, happiness, etc.), and (obviously) her scene where she burns down the "ticky tacky" in 3x15 "Go" (because of her little "talk" to Judah :(). There are more, I just don't want to mention them at this time. But, yeah. She rules. All. However, I love Elizabeth Perkins, especially in "The Dark Time" 3x12 and on

Next  Um, how 'bout some of those endings? My favorites being the endings to 3x02, 3x05, 3x06, 3x08 ("and why the fuck are you stalking me?"). 3x09, 3x12 ("Chariot" + Nancy/Conrad Sex = ), and finally, 3x15. The cliffhangers weren't as sweet and out there as Season 2, but the music and the superawesome! cliffhangers made up for the quantity. Seriously, though. Who doesn't love "Weeds" endings? The only bad thing is....ya want to watch more right after it finishes ;)

I loved all parts of this season, but I generally split it into three parts: 3x01-3x07 is the "Gangster/U-Turn" part of the season. It had separation with Conrad and Nancy, Nancy trying to pay back U-Turn, Nancy doing dangerous jobs, Silas' community service, and Celia's relationship with Sullivan. IMO, this may be the best part of the season for me, because I personally loved the whole U-Turn/Marvin storyline, and while I disliked Nancy and Conrad being apart, I dealt with it. The next would be 3x08-3x10 portion (short), which I would probably call the "Valerie" part of the season. These three episodes were easily my three least favorites of the season. I found the storyline with Valerie semi-interesting, but at times I could care less. I did love the end of 3x08, but the rest of the episode was just okay, which is weird for a "Weeds" episode. That's what happened with the end of 3x09, too. Also, Valerie's random attempt to take the money from Nancy kind of irked me, because I liked the Nancy/Valerie friendship, at first. Oh, well. I liked it, but I just didn't love this part. And, the last part. That would be the "Bikers and Mexicans" portion   It also contained Celia breaking apart from Sullivan and Celia's introduction to the world of growing/dealing. Not only that, but it also had Valeria's last confrontation with Nancy, which I loved. "Cankles" and "The Dark Time" were two favorites of mine throughout the season, and I'm glad Marvin was in one of them :xd  This is probably my second favorite of the three, because Nancy's moving on and her alliance with the Mexicans is interesting. I also love the Guillermo character, and hope he returns. Shane going mental is scary to watch, and I was shocked when he thought he was talking to Judah :( The wildfire storyline was a brilliant way to wrap up this awesome season, and I overall loved it.

Ranking:
U-Turn
Bikers and Mexicans
Valerie

I missed a bunch of stuff, but so much happened that it would be impossible to review every single thing that happened this season. Take forever. But, overall, I loved it. I loved this season with a passion. This may be my favorite, but it took a little dive mid-season for three episodes. Luckily, it popped back up to amazing quality. Now, to conclude my long and rambling review, I'm gonna give my [insert # here]/10

Episode Rankings:

Doing The Backstroke – 10/10
A Pool and His Money – 9.5/10
The Brick Dance – 9.5/10
Shit Highway – 9/10
Bill Sussman – 10/10
Grasshoppers – 10/10
He Taught Me How To Drive By – 9.5/10
The Two Mrs. Scottsons – 7.5/10
Release The Hounds – 8.5/10
Roy Till Called – 8/10
Cankles – 10/10
The Dark Time – 10/10
Risk – 10/10
Protection – 9.5/10
Go – 10/10

That's it

For me Season 3 never quite matched the heights of 1 and 2, I'm not really sure why, I still loved it and all, uh I dunno, perhaps I need a rewatch. This is how I rate the seasons:
Season 1 - 5/5
Season 2 - 5/5
Season 3 - 4/5
Still can't wait for Season 4 though!

Finally some cool spoilery s4 stuff! :D From Ausiello:

They wanted a "name" and they got one.

A Showtime rep confirms that Weeds has tapped Albert Brooks to play Nancy's estranged father-in-law, Len, in at least four episodes. The Oscar-nominated multi-hyphenate — whose prior TV work has been limited to Simpsons voice-overs and a few random '70s guest stints — will turn up early in Season 4, which debuts June 16.

In related news, Showtime has released the following semi-spoilery preview of Season 4:

"What's cable's No. 1 pot dealer to do when her cozy suburban enclave burns to the ground, taking her clients and stash along with it? What else? Pack up and move on. With the embers of Agrestic smoldering in her rearview mirror, Nancy & Co. relocate to the fictional beach town of Ren Mar on the San Diego/Mexico border to set up shop with a new front biz that’s… pregnant with possibilities. With the help of her old friends and new partner Guillermo, Nancy will get even deeper in the shadier side of dealing — on both sides of the border. She's savvy and has earned her stripes in the business, but the new, un-chartered terrain ramps up the risk with every transaction. While there's a whole new look, new locale, new friends and even a new love interest, the patented Weeds dark humor that the country and critics have grown to love over the past three seasons stays true to form."

Just two months and change until our next fix!

Awesome. I new Guillermo would be a player this season. And Albert Brooks should be interesting...I wonder how he will fit into the Weedsverse. He's an eclectic actor/comedian and I look forward to seeing what they do with him. :)

Sounds interesting enough.

But, by Nancy and Co., do they mean Celia, Heylia, Doug, etc.? Do we have any news on our supporting casts' future?

Well--and this isn't spoilery, just speculative--that since Agrestic burned down that the supporting cast will have to relocate anyway, so my guess is that we will see the rest of the cast, more or less.

Yes, but like Guillermo said (whom is awesome), maybe the fire won't get to those houses. I know that's not really what he meant for Nancy's friends, but it's true. I just want them all. I will not give up any of them. Any. Of. Them.

I'm with you, Ben. Like Doug....he's grown so much on me...he's so funny and twisted and dark and ridiculous. I would hate see him go. I am willing to bet Celia will most definitely remain. The dynamic between her and Nancy is one of the foundations of the show, imo. Plus, Celia is just so amazing. I'm not sure how they are gonna work it all out will Conrad and Heylia but I really don't think we are going to lose any of the characters for good at this point. Just imo.

 <<-- my feelings on Weeds. :D

BlasterBoy
14-04-08, 09:13 PM
 Jenni, those feelings are mine, too :p :xd

Doug is fantastic, but I wouldn't really mind if Andy fell into the ocean, died, and blew up, because his plots became horrendous in Season 3. He was okay for a bit, but then he just became annoying. Celia and Nancy are two fantastic things, but now Celia and Heylia is awesome  I love both. Best Celia/Nancy scenes: "BE MY FRIEND!" and the scene in "Pittsburgh" with Pam's one-shot gun.

Jenni Lou
14-04-08, 09:28 PM
I hear you on Andy. I think he's funny and I love the way Justin Kirk plays him...but I will agree that his storylines in season three were, erm, uncomfortable. And not in the best way. First with the "happy ending" massage for Shane and then with porno foot movies...wtf? Yeah, they do need to find him a better niche in the show. However, with the new casting info,

I think it's fair to say he will be sticking around since Albert Brooks will be playing his (And Judah's father.) So maybe he will get some good stuff to play off of with that. :)

BlasterBoy

Yeah, the porno for him this season was so dumb. Plus, it hit a new boundary "Weeds" had never gone to. Real nudity.

Yeah, maybe we'll get some drama out of him with that new info, which would be great to see. btw, Kevin Nealon is hilarious! On the YouTube "Showtime" account, they have him, Hunter Parris, and the person who plays Dean, singing "Little Boxes" while crushing bubble wrap!

Oh yes, I saw that one a little while back. There was also one with the guy who plays Dean as he just whistles the tune. I believe Showtime ran a fan contest or something with theme and that's why the actors did those. I love that they have new bands and singers do the song every episode. Lots of great ones too like Jenny Lewis and Death Cab and The Shins, etc.

And Kevin Nealon is awesome. Back in the heyday of Saturday Night Live (late 890s/early 90s) he fit in perfectly with the excellent cast: Mike Myers, Dana Carvey, Adam Sandler, Chris Farley, Phil Hartman, David Spade, Rob Schneider, Julia Sweeney, Jan Hooks, Victoria Jackson, Chris Rock, and so many others. I can't believe a cast like that ever even existed! And he was one of the best Weekend Update anchors ever! Oh man, he did some serious funny sketches. /semi-OT

I just watched seasons 1-3 in two days. I think it's safe to say I'm hooked.

I'm so glad Nancy told off Valerie. I couldn't stand her. It's such a little piece in all that happened, but I just had to say that! lol

I can't wait for the new season to start! I wonder where they're going to go and what they're going to do. It almost looked like Nancy wanted a fresh start, does that mean no more selling? Since the show is called 'Weeds' I'm not sure how far away from that they can go, but we will see!

Don't worry, here, we're all hooked  I did the same as you, only not that fast. I watch a season a day cause they're so damn short, but not the whole series in one!

And I just want to say I agree, I disliked Valerie. She wasn't horrible but the "YOU OWE ME MONEY!" plot makes me cringe, because 1) no she doesn't, and 2) it gets boring. And I really loved that moment in "Cankles", too!

Jenni Lou
30-04-08, 10:30 PM
I actually liked Valerie but I think it was because I enjoyed the actress's portrayal of her. I was warming up to her and then there came the give -me-my-money moment. What a bitch. I understand where she was coming from but that was not her money and was kind of angry at her for not accepting that. Especially since Nancy was trying to do the right thing anyway.

Kaleido Katie
01-05-08, 02:16 AM
Yeaaa, I totally agree. I tried to warm to her too. But then she became a super biatch again. Like you said, even when Nancy was trying to do the right thing and give her money when she legally didn't have to! She was acting completely selfish and childish. I'm with BlasterBoy, it got old really fast! I'm just so glad that's over.
Though I guess if that didn't happen to Nancy, we wouldn't have had that funny moment in the kitchen with Celia and the knife. I love Elizabeth Perkins, she's so great.

Ok, so I just wanted to ask.. am I the only one not a fan of Heylia? I can't really stand her. I think she's lazy, selfish, and her attitude is just ridiculous!

Edit: And, whatever happened to Doug's son?

Oh, I'm a huge fan of Heylia! I love her humor and the contrasting lives of Nancy Botwin (mainly in s1), but I also love to see her, at times, screwed up philosophy.

No one knows. The actor was just available for the Pilot.

I don't not like her but she does rub the wrong way on many occasion. However, I think that's the intent of the character. She's sort of foil for Nancy and she's great as a juxtapositional character in that respect. She's been in the dealing business for a lot longer and she's a lot wiser as to the whole order of things. So I like her but sometimes I want to smack here. But that's probably just because I am protective of my Nancy. :D

Like the fight in 3x02 ( ) or that awesome bench scene in 2x10? But, I can see where Heylia is coming from, she's just pulling it to the extreme! I mean, she's guarding her territory and trying to protect her family. She's doing all that she knows how to do: attack and defend.

Kaleido Katie
01-05-08, 05:59 AM
Yeaaa, I can see where you guys are coming from. I liked her in season one, I guess she just became too much for me in S2 and 3. It might be for the same protective Nancy reason! And I don't like how she's so controlling of Conrad. He's a grown man! But I'm sure she's just trying to be protective of him too.

I liked that she got rid of Peter, even though she didn't really think/care about the possible repercussions that could have had on Nancy. Thankfully he was a slimeball, so they just wanted to bury his case!

Jenni Lou

Oh yeah, I'm with you on that! Leave him alone already. However I can see where she is coming from since she does essentially run an illegal enterprise and feels that Conrad could be putting her in jeopardy by "expanding" with Nancy and all. So it makes sense that she wants to keep him rung in. Nonetheless, she is very controlling indeed!

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but I'm bringing it.

Ausiello said this awhile ago, but forgot to share it with you, so here it is:

[casting spoilers for s4]

Conrad and Heylia will not be Season 4 regulars. They will either be recurring stars, or as I've heard suggested, not there. That's the unfortunate news. More unfortunate news coming on.

Well, someone on the TV.com forum gave first four episodes news, and apparently....

[little boxes spoilers]

Little Boxes will be used as the theme for the first episode. By the second episode, there unfortunately, will be a new theme. Everyone mourn :(

Jenni Lou
21-05-08, 04:02 AM
Well, I already knew about the first news. And they were more peripheral characters and so I think the show is completely doable without them. So I am not worried yet.

As for the second....that doesn't have to be bad news! A new theme may just mean a new song that we can hear endless variations on! :)

Also read on Ausiello today that Julie Bowen will be guest starring as a recurring character who becomes involved with Silas.

About the casting spoilers...

Conrad and Heylia WILL be in season 4 but they're just gonna be reduced to recurring characters. I'm not sure how many episodes that'll end up meaning, but they just won't be regulars. Quite honestly, I don't mind. I never really liked Conrad and Heylia's storyline is rapidly coming to a close. Plus, with the new location and all, it's about that time that old characters start fading out as new ones starting coming into play. So long as Nancy and Celia remain regulars, I'll be happy.

As for the theme song stuff...

I don't really mind. The theme song was great and all, but, again, with the new location and all, I think it's time that we got a new song that was more fitting. "Little Boxes" was perfect for Agrestic, but since they're not in Agrestic anymore, the theme song doesn't really work.

Especially based on everything that I've heard about where Nancy and Company are now...

By the way...

Has anybody heard anything about Celia? All the spoilers I've been reading have been about Nancy and her sons and Andy and the new characters. That's it. Nothing about Doug or Celia. This is kinda concerning me...

Okay, so Weeds Season 4 premiere tonight, June 16th! I do not have Showtime, so won't be able to see it for another day or so. BUT, here is some news from Jenji Kohan on E!Online.....

Possible Weeds Spin-off? (http://www.eonline.com/gossip/kristin/detail/index.jsp?uuid=4e689506-c183-4db7-8915-45e481142f0b)

she isn't done with Conrad's story. She's thinking of taking those characters and slotting them into spinoff, specifically one "that takes place in a pot club...I'd shoot it sort of fake reality-show style. It could be pretty like The Hills!" She says of Conrad & Co.: "I love those characters; I just think those relationships wore themselves out, and I wanted to be true to where the characters were. Truthfully, Heylia and Nancy had nothing more to say to each other. Conrad and Nancy weren't going to be the loves of each other's lives, so it was time to move on."

I don't have Showtime either; I will be watching it tomorrow.

I just read that also. I don't know. Sounds kinda weird to me. But it also wouldn't be happening for a long time, if at all.

I really liked all the thing Jenji had to say. There were some great slightly spoilery bits in there and makes me excited or s$! :xd

I also was looking at tv.com last night and they have small ep descriptions for the first 5 eps, in case anyone wanted to read some little spoilers. ;)

Doug is the shit. I love that guy.

So, I liked it. I was definitely kind of a set-up episode. I have a feeling the next one will dig its teeth into the new direction a little more. I liked Albert Brooks. He has great delivery and I always enjoyed him in times past. I think it will be fun to watch how he gets worked into the fold for awhile.

It was weird not seeing Heylia and Conrad. In fact, it was interesting that they even showed what they were up to at the end of s3 in the "previously on" segment. But they were mentioned in the episode and I feel good about them not being around anymore. They were never central the overall story anyway.

And haha, Celia got screwed.

 Very funny. Recap as I'm watching it.

First thing I see is that I love, love, love the Celia interrogation thing. "And there were growers! Heylia and Conrad! I don't know their last names, but they were black. And the gay Indian kid." Seeing the Botwin family on the road was a little weird but I really love Nancy's confession to burning the house down  And I love how much Nancy is annoyed with Rad  Her mini-speech with that is very funny. Love Andy and Doug. They're so hilarious. "Okay, she's kinda a dude." Also love Nancy and Andy's reaction to seeing his father  Love everyone turning in Celia  ROFL@Not-Judah and Not-Nancy. I also love the remembering Judah scene with Andy and Nancy. What Andy was supposed to be. Loved both of them in this scene. Also loved seeing Guillermo again.

Overall, loved the premiere. Thought I wouldn't. But I did. Thank god.

Hands down, that was my fave scene. Andy is such a wacky character but there are these every so often times where he is thoughtful and well, normal. And these was one of thse times....although he does, of course, maintain his strangeness throughout. He can be so funny.

But yeah I also loved that little Doug/Dean scene in the alley. The "snowflakes" and "she can hang with us." What magical comedy duo! (Although, I think more credit goes to Kevin Nealon. ;) I've always liked him since his SNL days.

What a fantastic episode, I loved every part of it. The scene with the dad were the funniest ones. I loved how the birds were always near her plus the conversation about strapping drugs to birds was funny. I too loved all the Interrogation scenes and how they all turned on Celia.

Andy: Should I be nervous?

I'll put it in spoilers....

Okay, yeah, this was a great episode, again! This season is really shaping out to be a great, humorous one, despite all the changes.

First off, I love seeing Guillermo again, and all of Nancy's "mission" was hilarious. I love her Spanish and how she desperately needed a coffee drink, but then peed in the cup, etc. It was all great, and I love the whole operation Guillermo has set up, training her and all. This will be very interesting. Celia in prison is actually pretty sad. At the end, I was feeling so bad for her. But, I think that end is one of the best ever. "I think I'm starting to believe you." You see Till holding up the picture of Nancy with Guillermo...awesome. Silas is trying to take over Conrad's place. It's not gonna work for him, but I can't wait. And Lenny and Andy's argument was awesome. And Bubbie asking to be killed. Basically, everything that happened! GREAT! By only problem is a big one, but forgive me if this has already been answered: SHANE SEES DEAD PEOPLE! HE SEES JUDAH! And suddenly he doesn't? Where'd that go? It might've been explained in the opener and I missed it....but what?

Quote of the Eppy:

Nancy: I need to buy a bed skirt.
Shane: I wanna go shopping for a bed skirt.
Silas: You don't even know what a bed skirt is.
Shane: Do, too. It's like a dust ruffle.
Nancy: How do you know what a dust ruffle is?
Silas: Cause all gay boys know what a dust ruffle is.
Shane: That's right! I'm a big fag so you can suck my dick. Please, can I come with you, mom!?
Nancy: No...honey. I need some alone time and you just told your brother to suck your dick. Gross....

I also loved it. SO fun!

1. Celia. Wow. Yeah, I felt bad for her as well. Very bad. SHe was pretty beaten up and Elizabeth Perkins acting was so fantastic with the tears and the defeated eyes. Man, my eyes welled up a little actually.

2. Shane doesn't see Judah. He just made it up. He wanted attention and wanted Nancy to listen to him. He wanted a change. That's what I thought.

3. Albert Brooks is great. Really liking him. Love how Nancy paid him off.

4. I also liked the whole training thing Guillermo's got going on. He's a pretty neat character. He was introduced as like a hard ass gangster but Nancy's charm just totally worked on him.

5. I want more Doug! :xd

4. I've always loved Guillermo, honestly. I loved him in "The Brick Dance", "He Taught Me How To Drive By", and especially, "Go". Plus, Nancy seems so relaxed near him. I loved her "Hasta luego," at the end of the premiere, and her dancing in the car, etc. Also, his personality is awesome. "If you ask the money questions, the money runs away!"

Okay, so 4.03 was the best episode of the season yet: "The Whole Blah Damn Thing". Some of my favorite parts?

Almost every scene  I loved Nancy's, "I got a green card." "You got a green card?" "I got a green card." and "NOESTA CHIN GADO! (sp!?!?!?!)" Great stuff there. On the drama half, I loved Andy and Lenny's convo about Bubbie. That was absolutely fantastic, and I also loved Shane's convo with him. "I'm having trouble letting go? Yeah, because she's my fucking mother." Also, "Shane...get mommy a pillow." :( But, my favorite part of the whole episode was Andy's speech about blah!  That was SO funny. "Wow. That was good." "I have my moments." You certainly do, Andy

And, next week looks hilarious. "Is that her pimp!?" Looks like Doug and Celia are both in Ren Mar, now we just need Dean and Isabelle to stop by. This is going to be a great season.

WOW. This was the best episode of the season. Just frakkin' hilarious.

First off, the addition of Doug was fantastic. More on that later. I loved the Chiva (sp?) thing. "How is it that all Jews aren't morbidly obese?" ROFL. The Day 2, Day 3, etc. was awesome. Brad was really funny, again. "What's up, dude?" "Please get out of my house."  The two people trying to buy the house were great. And Doug comes in! "How'd Grandma die?" "Mom killed her." "Heh." Love the "Deal or Deal" thing  Really cool how both were the same. "This one don't got the juice box." :xd Till singing and hitting on Celia was hilarious! The car scene was awesome. "You suck dicks on us?" That repeated five hundred times was awesome! AND WAS THAT A REFERENCE TO JOSH WILSON!? Woah. The money plot was the weakest one, but Alexander Gould's acting was pretty good, and I love Lenny's, "Is she a prostitute? Is that her pimp?" Andy was hilarious with Nancy in the car. His freaking out was really awesome. "Lost my cool. Bringing it back in. Drug smuggling bad ass. Waiting for don't know what. In the middle of don't know where. With a gun. Starting to freak out again!" And Nancy and Andy kissing! ROFL! That was amazing. Looks like you were right, Jenni Lou! And I loved Doug's repeated, "What happened to all the cheese?" Silas losing his plants and the people working there smoke, that's funny. Andy all alone was hilarious, too. I loved how he joined the line of Mexicans. Can't wait to see where that heads. And the end cliffhanger was awesome. Celia and Nancy back together again. Can't wait.

This episode is total awesomeness.

First off, agreed. The ep ruled. It reigned. It won. Loved it.

"You suck dicks on us?" That repeated five hundred times was awesome! [/SPOILER]

I actually think he asked, "You suck dicks, Silas?"

But I could be wrong. I'm pretty sure though.

And Nancy and Andy kissing! ROFL! That was amazing. Looks like you were right, Jenni Lou!

Right? I don't think it's really going anywhere, I've just been noticing a kind of flirtation this season. Glad to see I'm not crazy! :xd

I love Doug. Kevin Nealon is cool. His delivery is just impeccable. I'm glad it seems he may be around more now. And Celia...yayZ! for a Nancy/Celia reunion. The preview for the nest ep looks funny as hell.

So yeah, super awesome ep. I want to watch the next one like NOW.

Somehow, this show just keeps getting better and better. I'll try and keep this review very brief this week, because it's just too awesome.

I really love Celia and Nancy back together again. You don't realize how much you miss them together until you don't have them. They're awesome, and I really loved Nancy sticking a gun in Celia's mouth. Hehe. Also, the car scene where Nancy traps Celia in the window is hilarious and I loved her rant about re-incarnation. Awesome stuff. But, I also loved the front store with Guillermo, and I got a little suspicious when he paid her so much. Of course, there was something to be suspicious about. Loved Andy shooting the guy in the knee and his line about how shooting someone in the knee is so random! But, my favorite part was 1) Nancy bringing the family together and her big speech about their family and all that, 2) Her talk with Roy Till telling him to back off and how she has a normal job now, and 3) the reveal of the hole  So, all in all, best episode of the season. Most dramatic. Most intriguing. Most funny. Probably ranks among the best of the series.

I agree. Best ep of the season. I really loved every scene. And all the Andy stuff was great. Especially, his shooting the Coyote. I love his reaction because Andy is usually so spazzy and stuff but he just held himself together.

The dinner scene was also fantastic. I laugfhed out loud as they went around the tab;e showing the reaction shots and how every one was all beat up in one or another. :rotflmao:

Surprisingly, I really like Guillermo. I think the actor does a great job with him. He's abrasive, yet funny. Cold, but has a heart.

The end was crazy. I was just waiting to see what this whole Maternity store deal was about. Guillermo never tells Nancy anything!

Can't wait for the next one. YayZ! :2party:

Awesome. This is one show I look forward to!

I like a lot of the other details too. I was wondering about Albert Brooks and was glad to read I wasn't imaging the Nancy-Andy chemistry.

No one's talked about 4.06 "Excellent Treasures" or 4.07 "Yes, I Can" yet :(

Both were excellent episodes, just not as good as "No Man Is Pudding", IMO. Well, actually, I don't know. "Yes, I Can" was pretty spectacular! I loved.....(for 4.06)

Celia and Isabelle's conversation in the Maternity store. "Don't be a fucking bitch!" in front of the customer  I also loved the first few minutes with Nancy walking through the hole, and that music. Plus, the end cliffhanger which I always look forward to! On the flip side, Esteban was not very interesting in this episode. I disliked his and Nancy's part of the episode, not sure why. But I loved Doug and Andy's decision to be "nice coyotes". Haha, knew that story in 4.05 was going somewhere! Doug as Senor Flippy-Flop is a nice touch, plus the Silas and Rad's mom thing is....creepy :err: Overall, a good episode. Nowhere near as good as the previous few episodes, but good.

As for 4.07.....

AH! GREATNESS! I loved it! Esteban's part here was SO interesting, because Nancy actually had a reason to be talking to him: to go over Guillermo's head. The montage bringing back Lupita, Marvin, and Sanjay was just.....woah. Really saying, "we know there are old viewers out there!". Especially loved seeing Lupita because we've missed her for a whole season :( Anyways, I feel so bad for Guillermo and kind of hate Nancy for that atm. I know she wanted to get back into the dealing business, but it's Guillermo. Guillermo gave her all the money she wanted. I loved him in "No Man Is Pudding" and it made him a nice guy. And then Nancy did that! :cutecry: Poor Guillermo. The end was great, Nancy just standing there at the door shut on her saying, "Thank you." The Shane and Isabelle story with the pictures was hilarious, and I loved the montage at the end seeing the tattoo again! This episode really brought back old stuff. And now the Silas/Rad's Mom stuff is going beyond creepy to scary! But....I love it haha! My favorite scene was when they started kissing in the Cheese Place. "I have a 10 year old son." "Yeah, I met him." Silas is to blame, I see!

I could talk about this episode for hours, but I should probably stop, eh? BTW, was there no trailer for next week? I didn't see one :(

1. Yeah, that song is great. The one she is going through the tunnel to..."New World" by DeVotchKa. I also dig it.

2. It was awesome indeed seeing old characters return. Lupita, Marvin, Sanjay and his baby too! And I love that in the montage, Nancy was serving something different to each person to appeal to the sensibilities, i.e. milk and cookies for Marvin. :cookie:

3. Okay, the end with Shane and his mom's nude photos? Ew. :err: :p

4. Haha, Doug is going to be a Minute Man. :xd

5. I also had no preview for the next ep but I looked it up and there is one. SO that's good!

Okay, no one's talked about the episode that aired last night, and let me say, HOLY F*CK!

First off, Elizabeth Perkins is great at delivering comedy. While her whole addict storyline was certainly not the best this season, last episode's "intervention" made up for it. I really loved the rehab center, but I....

don't want to go through another episode of rehab just because she went to a knew center.

Oh, I just want to say that Nancy's "speech" to Shane/Silas in 4.09 "Little Boats" was one of the best scenes of the series!

Next up: Esteban. I kind of hate him. His actions in "I Am The Table" freaked me out, and I think Nancy and him have absolutely no chemistry. And it's great how Esteban thinks Nancy is not dangerous. Oh, he's soooo wrong. In the latest episode, we learned that....

Esteban is seriously bad. As is Guillermo. Both know what's going on, and both support it (with Guillermo, we don't know that, but we guess).

I really wonder what Esteban gave to Nancy in 4.10 to make her loopy. Was this his plan all along? To make her go a bit insane? Some theories are saying she's pregnant, but I certainly disagree. I really hope that comes back in the finale.

Next up: Shane. Shane is a messed up little boy who freaks me out. His scenes with the pierced strangers were funny some of the time (in 4.10, "I do that, you do that, unless I do that." "But I'm the only one who can do that." "Unless we get one of those. But I don't know where we'd find that."). LOVED the scene in 4.11 "Head Cheese"....

the first scene. Where Nancy was fantastic. Shane's, "stop pretending to be a mom" line really hurt Nancy, and Shane's just obnoxious now. Is it too late for him to get better?

SILAS AND RAD'S MOM! (still don't know her name)....

Glad to see him asking Nancy for some help: he needs it. I want to see him starting up a grow house, while Nancy is tearing down the tunnel operation. Which leads me to....

THE CLIFFHANGER:

So, this was seriously awesome. Nancy finally figures out that Guillermo and Esteban aren't just smuggling weed and guns through the tunnel, but also girls forced into prostitution. Love this little twist, and Nancy calling the DEA at the end? That was priceless. I want to see where this is going, and I wonder if Till is going to arrest Nancy for everything she did back in Agrestic. She may not be off the hook just yet. And, for some reason, I think Esteban will find out what Nancy did, and he won't be too happy about it.

This season's been awesome, and it looks like the last two episodes will be epic.

Dude, yes. This season has been awesome. I totally knew Nancy was going to call Roy Till. And the Doug stuff? It was soo funny to see him look like a total assbag through Maria's eyes. Stepping on the sandcastle and shit?

Oh, and "El Andy!" That was awesome. I  Andy. he's totally one of those characters that grows on you more and more and more.

ugh, porr, silly Shane. Although I do have to admit the goth girl stuff amuses me. But the best part of that storyline was the brother bonding moment when they are talking about sex. Aw, Silas was so supportive of his bro. Do it or don't do it...just do what you want and not because you feel like you have to.

This cheese shop business? I don't know how long that could last until the words stretched just a bit too far. It seemed like it was doing a little too well. ONly a matter of time before the wrong people hear the word about it...

My theory? Nancy's got a brain tumor. The ringing in her ears, the migraines, the constant exhaustion, the hallucinations...My money's on the season 4 finale cliffhanger being her in a doctor's office getting told that she's got cancer.

This'll loop her directly into the pot-smoking business (she'll do it for medicinal purposes) and it'll also move closer towards the announcement Jenji Kohan made earlier this season about...

..them casting Nancy's sister for the upcoming seasons. She'd be around to help her sick sister and to provide insight into their family life.

Just saying.

As far as the most recent episode was concerned, it certainly was redeeming compared to the other recent ones, in my opinion. The season kinda hit a slump in the middle (I blame Esteban) but 4.11 was awesome. Hilarious, emotional, shocking.

Though, am I seriously the only person (aside from my sister) who thought that it was Peter who Nancy called at the end of the episode? I was waiting for the camera to pan up and show that he's really alive and well and that they faked his death - perhaps in an attempt to bust the corrupt within the DEA (ahem...Roy Till...). I was disappointed that it just turned out to be Roy. :(

Though, still, it was a great ending to a phenomenal episode.

SILAS AND RAD'S MOM! (still don't know her name)....

Her name's Lisa. ;)

But I thought the kid's name was Brad...? I thought Nancy said Brad when she found out about Silas/Lisa in 4.09 (right? that was the episode?)...

Hmm, well, that is an interesting theory. But I still hope Esteban did it to her. It's like Peter again, only more irritating (I mean, Esteban as a character).

IMO, "Yes, I Can" was fantastic, but then "I Am The Table" and "The Love Circle Overlap" were kind of....eh. I liked "Little Boats", personally, because of Nancy's interactions with Silas (that scene in the cheese shop blew my MIND), Shane (Andy finding the pictures haha), and both of them at the same time (like I said earlier, one of the best scenes ever.).

I really never thought she called Peter. "Weeds" will never go into, "he didn't really die!", IMO. I just don't think they'd go there. I expected it to be Till after the scene where all was revealed, but I wasn't sure. Still, great ending.

Her name's Lisa. ;)

But I thought the kid's name was Brad...? I thought Nancy said Brad when she found out about Silas/Lisa in 4.09 (right? that was the episode?)...Thanks!

But in 4.01, when Nancy is fed up with him and introduces him to the family, doesn't she say, "This is Rad. Yes, that's his name." or something along those lines :s I don't know.

EDIT: I typed "Rad from Weeds on Google and it seems to be his name.

Dude, yes. This season has been awesome. I totally knew Nancy was going to call Roy Till. And the Doug stuff? It was soo funny to see him look like a total assbag through Maria's eyes. Stepping on the sandcastle and shit?

Honestly, I felt Doug was a little weird in this eppy. Sure, he's a complete ass hole. Sure, he really just wants to have sex. However, he's never this much of an ass hole, and when he is one, he usually has a reason.

YES! Andy has been great this season. In previous seasons, he's done some stupid stuff, but he's amazing as a "nice coyote" haha! Loved his talk with Nancy in 4.10 on the beach when he's like, "why don't I have a girlfriend?" while the audience is focusing on Nancy's hallucinations.

ONly a matter of time before the wrong people hear the word about it...Yeah, I really did like that moment, after you've seen Silas punch Shane and all this stuff. The goth girls are kind of humorous. "We're doing a science experiment. About volcanoes." "And wind."

Ah, that is a good theory. I kind of hate brain tumor storylines though. Although I am sure jenji could pull it off. :)

I didn't see it like that. The scenes with Doug sort of played out for us to see him the way Maria would, as someone who doesn't actually know him. He always acts like this. Abrasive, full of humor, deadpan. To me, he was totally Doug. He looked like a supreme ******* because that's what maria saw. If she knew him it probably would have played out much different and she would have ignored his behavior.

And Peter? The thought never entered my mind that he might not be dead. I still think he is.

:shocked2: Wow, what a fantastic finale. So many things I loved.

1. The Doug/Andy scene with all the "shits." I laughed out loud even though I was wearing headphones and nearly woke my fiance up. Also love Andy realizing he loves Nancy. 'Cause in that scene with him and the boys I also laughed when he clutched his pillow and was like "...and not in any other way."

2. From the second Doug started writing/voiceovering his "suicide" letter I immediately thought of The Shawshank Redemption but thought not much of it...until the letter conitnued and it sounded just like the one from that movie.

3. The bathtub scene. LOVED it. Thought it was eamotional and cool that they sort of montaged it with some light music as we watched her speak but not hear her words. And whoah! More naked Nancy! I don't know why when this season rolled around MLP waited to disrobe and do it often. :p Oh and don't forget last week we had naked Andy. haha

4. Oh, Celia....I can't believe her daughter. Crazy! Guess she hasn't changed a bit!

5. I had NO CLUE Nancy was pregnant so that was one crazy cliffhanger! The whole ep it just seems as though she is freaking out about everything else going on, what with the DEA and murdered partner. So I guess we will be seeing more Esteban next season. What a way to get out of being executed. :xd

6. I am interested to see where next season will lead. Everyone seemed to be laying down some thick plans. Wonder where they will all go.

7. I don't want to wait until next year for more Weeds!!! :cutecry::cutecry:

Okay, off to upload the caps from the ep now. :)

Wow, just some quick thoughts about the finale.

It had no "OMG that was sooo surprising!" moments like the previous three finales, but honestly, I don't care. The Quinn twist was no extremely shocking but awesome! I love that actress, and she delivered her "evil" lines so well. They were perfect. Nancy being pregnant....yeah, that was so expected, but oh well. However, there was some nice foreshadowing: Nancy working at "Maternity World" haha. Andy falling for Nancy...yeah, also saw that coming, but it was done brilliantly. My main love for this episode was Mary-Louise Parker. Yeah...she's amazing. The bathtub scene was one of the best scenes of the series due to her acting and that music  Also, I loved, loved, loved the scene with Nancy in the car with the letter to Silas...that was soooo great. Shane is dealing in the skate park; predictable, but whatever. It was such a small detail in the episode that I can ignore Shane's "rebellion". Dean as Nancy's lawyer was great, haha. And Till is going to be back in Season 5, no doubt. And damn....he's gonna kill Nancy  Acting was once again, top notch.

Only complaint: anyone else find it annoying that all of Silas' relationships kind of just....end? Quinn leaves without saying goodbye, Megan's father beats Silas up, Silas realizes Tara is a Jesus freak, and Silas and Lisa get caught by the ex, and I know Silas realizes that they will never work out, but I hope Lisa comes back. I've grown to like her character, actually, and I hope that wasn't just some abrupt ending to this season long storyline. But I bet it is.

Whatever. I still woved it. Amazing finale, among the best of the series. Although, "Pittsburgh" stays on top.
