Into the Spotlight.

I want people to create character wallpapers, that emphesise what the character is about, it can have a few screencaps in it, or stock images (this is a must.... but that will be mentioned later on) the colours need to work with the character, for instance having blood red for a calm and placid character wouldnt work if you know what I mean.

requirements.
Fandoms: any all are walcome, but please put at little bit about the character why you picked them and how what you did shows the character to its best.

sizes: 800x600 (preferably->) 1024x786 no wallscrolls please thank you

Must: you must use at least 1 stock image in the wall

browny points: you will get browny points for creating walls for minor characters as there are so many big star character walls out there I kinda wanna see more of the minor characters give them a chance to shine... a little bit of variaty too. also the less words the better I want to see how you use images to represent the characters rather than words.

Deadline....oh man I cant remember this one? might have been the 26 of june??? im not sure.... if anyone can help me out here.... (im back at work right now and days/weeks kinda just meld into one lol)

Alright this is my first official post since getting out of hospital, and I'm totally drained, so I'm not going to re-post the two entries I had at BWF right now, if I find the time tomo then I'll repost them here, they were both Max centered from Dark Angel.

I have just done a new piece of art today since getting home, so it may not be my bestest work ever, but hey never mind. Again, just posting it just now, will edit in credits, explanation, etc, later. Hope that's alright guys. This piece is about Alec in Dark Angel, it's kind of episodic in terms of caps, but supposed to be representative or more about his character in general.

I was waiting for Dee to repost her rules etc but I guess now's as good a time as any to repost my entry.


My first entry is Rory Gilmore from Gilmore Girls.

When I saw this series of promos from Season 1 I just thought they captured the essence of Rory so perfectly and her body language in this one especially catures Rory, to me. It's not just the actress in this image, it's actually Rory! Anyway, while I was making this piece I remembered something Lorelai had said to Rory somewhere in season 1, that she has "killer blue eyes" - which she does - and I thought it fit this piece really well.

Okay, so I re-post my entry here as well:

This is a character wall for the minor character of Bobby Singer on Supernatural. In times where Sam&Dean are isolated from any community, Bobby is their one reliable ally and fatherly figure, they can always turn to for help. He is and experienced hunter, collector of rare books and occult items, a man with many talents and a vast knowledge about the supernatural world. He lives in a junkyard, in a small house chaotically stuffed wit books and objects. I went for a gruffy and grungy look with this, cause that just fits him best.

I really loved Meg Masters from "Supernatural." So, of course when I read your challenge I instantly wanted to make a piece about her. So I did...obviously. :lol: I kept the darkness over the small cap of Meg to maintain a sense of mystery...like...her true "face" is masked. And...Yeah, I used a shot of the church in the background (IE: the candles near Meg's head at the top) because I felt it was rather...useful. Captured the idea well and kinda gave it a slightly sacreligious feeling to it (which Meg most certainly is sacreligious...being...possessed by a demon...). The two stock images I used were: the church in the background and stock image of clouds that I used for lighting and texturing. Sorry I forgot to say that earlier.

The entries posted here are great! I hope Buffyworld's up and working perfectly soon (too much to ask, I know... :( ) so I can see the other entries! Good luck everyone!

When I read the challenge I thought I'd do a piece about Eve from S5 AtS, then I changed my mind because I was inspired by a post I made on BWF about Chanterelle/Lily/Anne and how the Anne persona was created by her involvement in Buffy's life in the ep "Anne". I really couldn't decide on the colouring and played about with it for ages. I've settled on a toned down version but I wanted it to have a lot of yellow to signify the hope that becoming Anne held for Lily. Also I wanted the smaller of the Lily images to be darker so that it showed her transition from being lost to becoming a person who had a purpose. (Hope that is all clear)

I haven't done any HP art for a long long time so I thought a character wall on Dumbledore was in order. I found this wonderful promo where he looks so "badass". I kept the colouring very blue to indicate the mystical energy emanating from him, but also warmed it slightly because of the calm authority he has over the Hogwarts students and especially Harry.

Alright, I adore Alec, and not just because Jensen Ackles plays him. :) Alec was such a ****y guy, always looking out for number one, and the bright, vibrant colors show that side that he shows to the world. I also chose this scene where is doing nothing less than UFC ring fighting because it shows that ****iness and "number one" attitude by using his genetically created strength to get easy cash. :D

Oh yay, I got one done! It's been far too long since I've made any challenge art. This is of Harriet Hayes from Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip.
Explanation:

Harriet is one of my my favorite characters. She's a comedian on the "Saturday Night Live"-ish show (which is also called Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip:rolleyes: ) She is a Christian, and her faith has actually become a fairly big plot point. I've come to really admire her character, even though I'm not particularly religious.
Anyway, in this particular scene, she learns that a fellow castmate's brother was captured in Iraq, and that her friend (the network president) was having pregnancy troubles. Everyone's kind of freaking out and don't know what to do at this point, and Harriet gets on her knees and prays. Everyone wants to help somehow, and she's helping in any way she can. (Then she and Matt get into this whole spiel about faith and all that stuff, but it's kind of beside the point here ;))

This was a season one Character wallpaper for Max, it's a lot darker, and the text is far more cynical, she's alone in the world, and I basically wanted to use this darker atmosphere to sum up where she is at this stage. (Very Early S1)

This piece is more of a season two Max piece, a lot lighter and more playful than the first one. She's not in the same place anymore, she's not alone. She's more daring the world with these ****y images, and I loved the quotes from a late season one episode from Phil who thought she was some mutant superhero, and figured I'd add that in there too.

Well that's my entries for now, who knows I may be back with brownie-point-earning walls later, but for now it's just these two phases of Max.

I did my art about Cassie Newton, one of the best "one shot" character (I know, I know, she played in two episodes). I used several caps and a bible verse to sum up the character: just a simple girl afraid of what she saw...I choose warm colors exactly because she were always warm with everyone and used a smile of Cassie for the bigger "door_cap"...because that's what sum up the character: a smile...

My last one...

This is a study of one person who became another (Fred/Illyria) but it's really more about Fred, and how she saw herself. I believe that Fred's personality was always more forceful but she struggled to show it. Working with Angel Investigations helped "bring her out" but she had more passion in her that was snuffed out by the Illyria infection. However, if she knew her future, she would've been very sure that she could overcome it, and wouldn't have allowed herself to become the evil side of herself. (Hope that makes sense!)
