Challenge 47: Training Montage From An 80's Movie

YAY! It's my first challenge! :D :2party:

For my first challenge, I decided I wanted something simple. I want you to make a wall about music in a movie or TV show. So, I have categories, cause those are always fun :D

Category 1: Musical

I want you to make a wall or wallscroll about a musical! It can be anything from Once More With Feeling (TV) to Rent (MOVIE). I will NOT accept "Waiting in the Wings" as a musical :)

Category 2: Song Choice

I want you to make a wall or wallscroll about a song IN A TV show or movie. So, for Buffy, you could make a piece on the end of Tabula Rasa or Becoming Part 2. I don't want any pieces without lyrics, like "Sacrifice" cause you can't show the songs in a piece. You must have the lyrics from the song in this piece :D

Judging: Well, I'll have awards for different things, but I can't promise they'll be pretty :lol:
Fandoms: Anything from any movies or TV shows, but I don't want things like comics (unless it's Season 8) or artists. I also want an explanation for your walls.
Sizes: 800x600, 1024x768, and wallscrolls.
Deadline: Um, December 10th - Four weeks.

So, I made an entry. This is from One Tree Hill. The best thing about the show is the music. It seriously has such an excellent soundtrack and I have discovered some cool ass songs and bands 'cause of this show. In fact, every episode title is the title of a song. So anyway, this is just a simple ep piece with one of the couples (Lucas & Peyton from the ep"All of a Sudden I Miss Everyone") with lyrics from the song that was playing in the scene. Duh. Like the rules say. :p Lyrics are Travis "Closer".

Wow I never knew that and it helped me along with my entry so thank's Jenni Lou, I was having trouble picking lyrics for my piece untill I read that. Mine too is one tree hill, recently I started watching season 4, and I decided to do a piece on Derek's obbsession with Peyton, so I used the lyrics from that episode's name that summed up the relationship really well, this piece is unusual for me because its really dark, but I think Derek was a dark character so it it fits really, the cap of Lucus is really LQ but I couldnt really find a better quality for that cap, I think the other screencaps are OK.

First Entry
In this scene Sydney's just found out her father did experimental phychological training on her when she was little to ensure (in a way) that she'd be a great spy. She feels as he's never given her any choises in life, "guiding" her without her knowing - until now. During/after this scene River by Joni Mitchell is played - one of my favourite songs. It's just so beautiful and bitter-sweet. In the choros, she sings "I wish I had a river I could skate away on" and that realy fits with the mood of the scene. Syd wants away - from her father and her life.

This goes under Catagory 2. I just love "Family", really one of my favorite episodes, but the end the song "I can't take my eyes off you" by Melanie Doane plays. Because of this song, I went out and bought her CD and just love it! So I had to do this wallpaper, because the song is really good and I like to call it "Tillow Theme".

Entry One - Horror
Ok so one of my favourite musicals is The Rocky Horror Picture show; twisted, sexy, musical fun! (And some aliens in there too!!) So I decided to do a general piece on the twisted and harsh reality of the musical, with lines from Byron's poem about Prometheus, (which is generally linked to the prospect of creating a monster, and Frankenstein the novel is known as "The Modern Prometheus", so I had to use these lines!) Hope you all like it!

Entry Two - Virgin
I love this moment. It's in Buffy and it's when Vampy Willow storms The Bronze with K's Choice - Virgin State of Mind playing in the background! Loves it, so dark evil and yet the song promotes a sense of naive innocence. Love. It. Here's the piece!

Entry Three - Goodbye
This is one of my favouritestness songs in Buffy. Michelle Branch's Goodbye To You. So sad and so woeful, and just so suited to everyone feeling as if they're saying goodbye to something. So this is it. Pure and simple.

Veronica Mars has some great music! Fitting for it's lesser none status, VM features some great alternative bands. One of the greatest of those bands is The Perishers. This moment was a really beautiful, LoVe moment, but it was also the first time I heard The Perishers.

Ok, so I love this song. Love it, love it. When I heard it on a friend's ipod, I knew I'd heard it on VM somewhere, and finally I found it at the beginning of Betty and Veronica.

This is for Category 2.

The best song for me in the Buffyverse is "Goodbye To You" but Lex got there first with a cracking job soo my next fave is "Full of Grace" at the end of Becoming Part 2. It's a beautiful song full of emotion and I still cry when I re-watch that ep. It sums up perfectly the way Buffy is feeling....she had to kill her one true love, she feels like there is nothing left for her in Sunnydale, she feels all alone with all these emotions whirling in side of her. So here comes my entry.

Entry One: Hold On, Hold On
Okay, so I've been trying to get this piece done for awhile now :p

Anyway, it's from 3.03 "Wichita Linebacker" (of VM, that is ;)) I'm a huge fan of Neko Case, and "Hold On, Hold On" is one of my favorite songs. So hearing it on Veronica Mars made me squeal out of delight. If I remember correctly, started playing during this Lo/Ve scene, and continued while Keith was telling Veronica he'd have to fire Weevil. While I wanted to find a way to work both scenes into this piece, it lacked a certain continuity. So I stuck to my roots and gave it to Logan and Veronica :lol: (And well, if it didn't play in the LoVe scene, I blame my bad memory because it definitely plays in that scene...in my brain.) Also, Neko Case is fantastic and she has a wonderful voice. So I'd encourage anyone to give her a listen :wub:

WEEEE! finally entering this awesome challenge.
For weeks I've been trying to think about a proper entry for this challenge and today I was inspired... Yesterday, I was going through my art (old and new) and
found this old VM piece of Spit & Eggs, Veronica Mars 3x09, and wanted to creat a new piece of that scene.. I tried so many compositions, so many colors and even closed the whole canvas. I finally got what I wanted after like... 3 or 4 tries.

So, this is the scene where the rapiest is chasing after Veronica and in the background there's a song called "Right here, Right now" by fatboy slim.
I think it really goes well with the scene because of the fast beats and reathem!
