I hope this is okay to repost this over here. :D I was getting a lot of cool entries and am dying to see more. So post 'em here and when BW comes back up, you can repost your entries there as well. :D
My 4th challenge is inspired by the song Through Glass by Stone Sour. This is not a lyrics challenge. But it is rather abstract, so I am providing the song as a starting point or muse. I'm looking at you through the glass
Don't know how much time has passed
Oh, God it feels like forever
But no one ever tells you

Sitting all alone inside your head
This challenge is about the perception of reality. How real is our own self image compared to the one on the other side of the mirror. It is about looking through to something different than the normal view of life.
I would like to see moments of introspection where a character (or yourself) realize how far their lives have come or turned out different than they thought they would. Perhaps a character is consumed with indecision or emotion and searching for a way to move forward. Perhaps they see another world of which they should have or wanted to belong.
As a coping mechanism, we cloak ourselves in little lies and illusions creating a comfort zone. Facing ourselves in the mirror can allow for us to see through or escape for a fleeting moment.
I am not very concerned with how pivotal a thing the character (or yourself) realizes. It is about your art evoking that sense of realizing in me. So this challenge is definitely not restricted to scenes that happened, manips are just as valid. And all fandoms/crossovers/actors are welcome.
The challenge is not about reflections. The view on the other side does not have to be the one looking through. It can be another person or image. There has be something separating them, it cannot be of just two people sitting beside each other together. Perhaps the thing on the other side is just emptiness.
It is important to know you are not restricted to using a mirror in your piece. The important part is the "through". As long as the person is separated from what he is seeing them is acceptable. For example look through glass, a window/opening, fire, water/rain. There should be some plane separating the two existences. You can be as abstract as you want in what that plane is.
Please don't feel limited to the examples I have come up with. This is a fairly open and abstract challenge and I look forward to seeing how people creatively interpret this idea and song.

FINAL THOUGHTS, this is NOT a lyrics challenge. I don't even know how correct the lyrics I gave you are. Misheard lyrics are often more meaningful than the real ones anyay.
