Challenge 46: Life in wallscroll

This is my what? Third challenge or something... Yay for that.

I didn't create some special theme or something, the task is simple: make a wallscroll. Any size you want. Any colors you want.
I love wallscrolls, I'm a wallscroll whore. That kinda explains the chellenge theme :D
Make a wallscroll, based on a song, episode, quote... Whatever.

Fandoms: Any you want.
Sizes: wallscroll-ish.

Ok so wallscrolls are not my strong point but this challenge has given me the impetus to actually make the wallscroll that I've had in my head for ages. I'm not overally proud of it but after spending so long on it, I couldn't really not post it!

Thoughts on the piece

Ever since I first heared this song I wanted to use in some art relating to father/son relationships. The more I listened to it the more I realised it fits with Supernatural. I have used it here to portray the relationship that Dean has with his father. His father was his hero and when John died he almost lost his faith in everything. Throughout season 2 he was struggling to come to terms with it and what his purpose in the world was. By the time of WIASNB, he realises that he would be honouring his father's memory by carrying on the job that John started. (Well that's my take on it anyway)

It isn't my best work ever but I like the end product well enough. I was listening to The Cure's "Trust" and it just hit me how much it fits in with Dean's state of mind in "In My Time of Dying." There's not much more to it than that. I wanted to incorporate images from the entire episode since it was all pretty relevant to Dean and his struggle. All the caps are mine. I used some border brushes of Zugma's and a couple stocks from sxc.

Thoughts on the piece
I'm in an Alias-phase. I've been lying in my bed sick for three days watching only Alias - seriously! If you're not familliar with the show I'll just begin with saying this: "Syd and Vaughn are the Couple of the show. They're off/on etc. And they're both CIA agents." So, I picked this song (All I Want - Joni Mitchell) because the lyrics (especially the first verse which is what I've used) really fit with how Syd feels. She feels that being a spy keeps her from living a normal life and very often that she can only really trust herself. Furthermore, in the begining (first two seasons or so) they don't really know if they should have a intimate realationship.

This is my first attempt ever at a wallscroll and it's been a real learning curve. Found it soo much harder to do than a conventional wall. Anyhoo decided to do one on The Body as wallscrolls seem to scream for something epic which that episode is. Probably not the best of ideas to attempt my first wallscroll on something so powerful and emotional but hey if your gonna do something badly why not do it with something big:D

Entry two
My French grade is gonna suffer from this... ah well... This is my longest scroll yet - by far! It's almost insane... 15060px long!

It's from Flyinng Daggers (which is a brilliant movie if I ever saw one ;)). The movie is sorta about a triangle-love thingy, but I've concentrated on my fav couple (There's one image of the other guy). I find the piece rather self-explainatory since it really just is another "oooh, I lurve you sooo much" piece ^^

Well this is the first wallscroll that ive ever made... I chose to do my favorite artist in the world - Elvis Presley. Ive loved him for as long as i can remember. I tried to sort of chronicle his life from when he first got started as a singer to the end. The lyrics on the piece are from a beautiful tribute song, that i thought fitted well.
