No linking other forums
This means no promoting or linking other message boards, other online stores, or shareware sites. You are allowed to post a link to your website, or put it in your profile, as long as there is no forum attached to it. Mass advertising will result in a ban.

Hey nikki, I just read this...didn't realise it was the rule on this forum, after asking someone to link me to somewhere else. Sorry! My bad - so hope KingofCretins won't get any flak for it, cos I asked him to and don't think either of us realised it was still in the rules.

On this topic - i thought the linking thing was because of Mark? Now we're over here, could it be changed?

I still don't like other forums being linked very much. I'm fine for people passing on other forums between friends, but I don't like the idea that this place could be used for gathering people for another forum. I pay a lot for this place and it's a rule I like!

I didn't mind the exchange in the VIP section earlier, but if I had no rules about posting forum links and then I get hit by advertisers I can’t do anything! So the rule is there but I won't be enforcing for the odd link in the VIP section :)

That sounds like a good way of doing things, thanks (and phew, didn't want to get KoC into poop!).

No I really want that rule that so I can crack down on people who join just to advertise their own place! The odd link is very different :)

Indeed it is - when it's just part of a discussion, not a pied piper action of "let's leave and go somewhere else"! Which we would never do because it ROCKS. :D

Plus, I actively try to draw the better sort of poster from that and other forums *here* :)
