Who in the fanart community hasn't? It's the whole point in fact. To show the world your wonderful obsessions.

For this challenge I would like for you to really think about what it is you love. A show, a character, an actor/actress, a musician, a song, a thing....whatever it is that makes you do the wacky! And you can illustrate it using whatever medium you want! Be it a manipulation, a compilation, a stock piece, an advertisement or movie poster, literally anything....size limit with standing. Love pop art? Make a brilliant pop piece. Like drawing? Draw a piece. I don't care! Want to get a message across that's near and dear to you? Speak up! Now is the time. As long as it's something you love and care about deeply. And most of all be crazy! Try new things, new sizes....after all this is a challenge, so bonus points to anyone using odd dimensions and trying new things!

Now if you want to go the straight method and portray moments of obsession, go for it! This challenge is to be interpreted as you see fit. All that matters if that you push your artistic limits and express yourself. Remember, the entire point of this is to reveal something...either about you or a character!

As this is one of those challenges that doesn't have a really set in stone theme, the awards will be numerous! So be sure and spread your love!

Rules:

Fandoms/Subjects: Anything
Sizes: Over 400x400 px
Deadline: November 14, 2007

Please feel free to post entries as you enter them :)

Please remember to credit your sources :) And most of all have fun! If you have any questions, feel free to PM me.

Well I blame my mother for this obsession. She watched soap operas when I was little, and I become a bigger fanatic for them than she ever had been. Now I'm a stay-at-home mom, I still watch them to this day. So this is just showing one soap opera I've become obsessed over (what most of my darn website is consisted of).

As of the week of October 15, 2007, the character of John Black will be no more on the soap opera, Days of Our Lives. So I did a little tribute to Drake Hogestyn, who has played John for the past couple of decades.

Okay so my entry fits into BOTH categories. When I was in seventh grade I was completely and totally obsessed with the movie The Craft. I saw it over and over in the theater, and insisted that my friends call me "Nancy." My parents found it incredibly weird but even now I adore that movie and it's still one of my top 3 favorite movies of all time. In the movie, Nancy herself has an obsession, she's obsessed with Manon, and power. She wants to be him and goes to any and all lengths to get the power that she desires. So I made a piece about her obsession, from a movie I am obsessed with.

First off, great entries everyone! Even though Buffy was my first major fandom, I have to say Supernatural and Dean Winchester has taken over my heart.

Ok, for this entry I give you LoVe. Logan and Veronica... I just love them together, I love them apart. The sad moments, the happy ones. Break-ups and such.. Well, for this one I chose a break up. In the begining of Spit And Eggs, Logan breaks up with Veronica. And it wasn't a fight, it wasn't about cheating. He was just feeling like he had too.

It's all over me

First Entry

So...I haven't arted for almost a month (longest artless period since I started), but when I read your challenge I decided to try to art my most recent obsession! LOL
So, my latest obsession happened by chance...I was browsing through videos on you tube, when I stambled on a video that caught my eye and I watched it. In that moment, my obsession with Noah and Luke began! It's a couple from the soap As The World Turns. I don't watch that soap (it doesn't even air in Italy) but I'm following the development of the Luke/Noah relationship on the net. It's a truly awesome story, romantic and told gracefully, despite the complaints of some (rather bigot) viewers not used to gay storylines in daytime shows. The storyline provided the first gay male kiss in soap operas, and it was a big deal in the media. For that reason it's considered a groundbreaking storyline in daytime television. I just fell in love with the characters and with the sweetness of their relationship. So, here is my piece...it's a true love story, independently from the gender of the people involved.

Well I obsess over Supernatural obviously, but right now Ruby has all my intrigue. Loved her entrance in the premiere and thought that the Rolling Stones song Ruby Tuesday really encapsulated all the enigmatic independence and darkness that radiated from her. I didn't expect to like Ruby much so the fact that I do actually adds to my obsessing.

I wanted something light yet mysterious. Bright but stained. Ruby's an open book and we know so little about her past and intentions whether good or bad. Your textures are amazing and this is the best and most favorite thing I've done in months. Thank you! *hugs*

CHUUUUCK!!! The whole show rules! I'm in a total muse slump and these promos weren't very big. I'm sure there are better ones out there, but surfing the internet for them is bothersome to my hands. So I took what I had and put all my love into it.

My total obsession is Buffy, I love arting anything to do with her or sarah michelle geller! So thats what this piece of art is about, I wanted the piece to be about Buffy herself but also have her most closest friends and family throughout the seasons. So I used her as my main focus and her friends and family behind her (I couldnt fit Riley in, sorry to all you ruffy/briley shippers) to act like she was protecting them I guess.

It's my first entry in a challenge for a very very long time.

This one is about Dexter and his particularly twisted mind ;) That's what I love in him. The best part being that I think like him a lot, part of the game I guess. It's a really good show, probably my favorite airing with Grey's Anatomy. It's a season 2 scene, so be careful (not really spoiler, but I prefer telling before you click)

I sat down and thought this through, because with a challenge like this you really get to do whatever you want... My greatest, never changing obsession is movies. I spend about 2000 kr (about 200 euro) a year going to the cinema and I can re-watch a movie a hundred times! (Not a joke...) Then I started thinking, what is my favourite movie? Of course, it depends on genre but there is no better than The Dead Poet's Society. So I chose to art the scene...
(spoilery about the end)
...where Neil stands in the window with the twig-crown on his head, just before his suicide. It's such a powerful scene. I had real trouble arting it (still not very happy with the result, but what the H, right?).

I've obsessive about quite a few things so I just loved the idea of this challenge.:)

ENTRY ONE

I love reading, especially books about vampires and shapeshifters and two of the authors I love are Laurell K Hamilton and Sherrilyn Kenyon. This piece is about one of Laurell's characters....Anita Blake. Here's a quick summary of her character.

Anita Blake: Vampire Hunter is a series of erotic fantasy novels by Laurell K. Hamilton, narrated in first person, vaguely hard-boiled detective style by the title character, Anita Blake. Anita lives in a fictional Saint Louis much like our own, save that, not only are things like vampires and shapeshifters real, but everyone knows that they're real and they are considered citizens of America, much like normal humans. The novels follow Anita's ongoing conflicts with the supernatural as she attempts to solve a variety of supernatural mysteries, come to grips with her own abilities, and navigate an increasingly complex series of romantic and political relationships.
Anyway, I saw that the character has been made into a series of comics by Marvel and when I saw the drawings I thought they were amazing. There isn't much to the piece but I just wanted to share the obsession with you all

ENTRY TWO

One of the biggest obsessions in my life for the past 20 years has been the group Wet Wet Wet and in particular Marti Pellow. I have seen them in concert about 20 times, met them and collected all sorts of crap about them. Even though the drugs he took have ravaged his good looks he's still makes me drool

I just  Dean. I mean... I LOVE Dean. And this show. The one thing I love is that they do the angst, the suspense, the pain, the grief, the horror so well, but they do the HUMOR so well at the same time, it's brilliant! And it helps that their actors are perfect for these roles! I just recently watched this episode about seven hundred times and I never get sick of this scene with Dean when he has the rabbit's foot and nothing can hurt him (sidestepping the other hunter guy, who's name I never catch for some reason, and him slamming into the wall, by himself), and he can do amazing things at the same time, like throwing the pen into the gun hole and knocking Kubric out with a remote control. "I'm Batman." And then Sam's reaction, a perfect, sarcastic brotherly reaction. "Yeah... you're Batman..."

i thought a lot about this challenge since i first read it and a lot of things went through my head about what i might have based this on, but i kept coming back to one thing, one person that, over the last decade, my obsession of has only grown...Xander Harris.

he was the reason i started watching BTVS. i had a crush on him, and i tuned in every week to see him, not realizing at the time that i was growing to love the show itself as much as the boy i was lusting over.

Text is from Linkin Park's 'In The End' because, back then, i did put my trust in Xander, and i think, at one point or another, most of the characters in the show did as well.

behind the obsession:
Okay, so...before I ever knew what a Rashida Jones was, or heard of Rilo Kiley (it's unfair to say Jenny Lewis, since I watched her as a kid...though that was her acting and not singing), or before I sold my dignity to devote every night to TV (right, Jenni Lou?), I had one major childhood hero.
I've always loved figure skating. I thought it was the most beautiful-est thing in the world, and still will not miss a good competition on TV. I always have the season's airing schedule pretty familiar in my head. And it's one of the few things I REFUSE to spoil myself for (as a lot of it happens before I get to see it). Anyway, Michelle Kwan has been one of my biggest idols. I grew up watching her, and her career pretty much spanned my entire childhood. She's a sort of inspiration me, and I always thought she was the epitome of style and grace.

I spent days trying to figure out how I'd go about this piece, to do Michelle justice. So I finally just went for it! I couldn't resist some of my regular stylistic tendencies, but I tried to refrain from making it as supercrazy and messy, because that's just not how I would art my love for Michelle Kwan! Also, the piece is in a different size than I usually make because I wanted it for my laptop screen, and it looked funny stretched out

Okay, this is a Supernatural piece but the obsession is NOT Supernatural. ;) I actually did quite a bit of thinking about what my obsessions were and how it might be possible to capture them in some fanart. I didn't just want to make something from a show a love; I wanted to go a little deeper.

The best album of all time is The Cure's Disintegration. :worthy: This is a fact. :p I was tickled pink about a decade ago when I was watching a South Park episode and Kyle yells this very fact out. I was like "Yay! I am not the only one!" Okay, off track. Anyway...I don't even know how I can capture my love for this album in words. It's been with me for so very long. One summer I was in Oregon and for two nights in a row I took my discman and layed in the middle of a clearing in the forest and stared at the stars--because I had never seen so many, there were thousands!--and listened to this album on repeat. It's the perfect soundtrack for star watching because it has these little twinkly noises.

So I was listening to my iPod and thinking about this challenge and decided I wanted to choose the song the album is named after. There's a ton of lyrics in the song and I used them all in the art. Of course, not all of them lines are readable but that's okay. I highlighted significant portions. I wanted to show the Sam and Dean relationship, but focused on more of Sam's point of view after losing Jessica and getting back into hunting. Enough explanation. Are you bored yet? :p See....I AM OBSESSED. I can't stop typing! :hf2:

I also spent literally all day on this. On and off, of course. I think it looks pretty simple. And it is because I didn't really use any texturizing materials. Just gradients and erasing brushes/masks. But it was a lot of time of tweaking blend modes and opacities and arranging things right. It was really fun to make! :)

Right now, I am completely obsessed with Grey's Anatomy. Can't get enough of it. My obsession right now though focuses on Lexie and Derek getting it on (at least one of my obsessions anyway). Even though I haven't seen any of season 4, or even past this episode for that matter, I am really hoping that these two get together at some point. I don't normally have any sort of obsession towards a ship, but it would be awesome if these two did happen. Also, any piece I've really done about a couple have been of them breaking up really, so it was a nice change to art something wanting a couple to get together.

I had this idea of doing a wall about my love of sleep, and this is what I came out with. I dunno... its different and it just shows my love of sleep! I also wanted to play around and great my own texture.
Then I thought it looked a bit bland, so I added a few of my favorite shows of characters sleeping, sharing the love.

Text: The Veronicas

My piece is about Chloe Sullivan from "Smallville." She's quite possibly the most amazing (and my favorite) character on the entire show and grows so much with each season. Though most people will disagree, I personally think she's grown more than Lex Luthor himself but...hey, to each his/her own. But, anywhooo, I absolutely love her so much and have yet to be disappointed by her awesome-ness. Not to mention the fact that I love Smallville and, recently, I feel it's really gotten thoroughly exciting and interesting (especially for Chloe). So yeah. That's the brief background to my lovvvvve for Chloe.

I absolutely ADORE all the entries so far, folks! Good luck, everyone! God, judging's gonna be a freakin' tough-y for Wendy! :D

Wow this thread has some amazing works, love JenniLou's and galathea's.

Great Challange! My little brother just started kindergarten a couple of weeks ago so I made him some pictures for his folder. And one of them are about the thing that he loves most... motorbikes! (he's only 15 months! and he can spend ours on them!) So I thought that I it fitted right in here.

Entry 2: Real McRoxoring Detectives

So, here we go. I love Psych. I love Veronica Mars. They are both my favorite shows. Both star hilarious, clever people who do detective work. I'm obsessed with detectives. So much that I often refer to my own (fake) detective agency  Also, I'm obsessed with the idea of a Psych/VM crossover because Shawn and Veronica are both ridiculously hot people and I would think it's funny if they ever got it on. And finally, the word "McRoxors" (and it's other forms) is part of my hourly vocabulary. It's in the tag line for that aforementioned detective agency (which Joe was awesome enough to make a banner to promote, and he also inspired me to turn this into a V/Shawn wall. It started as just KB. I know I cheated and used a picture of KB for Heroes, but I liked the way it fit.)

You really have me thinking! When it comes to TV-Shows, I really don't have an obsession over all other obsessions, I get "tired" of shows (or I find a new show and on it goes). I got a bit inspired by a layout you had a while ago, where you had different shows in one frame (Sopranos, Dead Like Me, Buffy etc.) and thought I'd try something similar. So in this piece I've managed to squeese in Angel, Alias, Buffy, Gilmore Girls, Grey's Anatomy, Smallville, Supernatural and Veronica Mars. Sadly, I couldn't fit Dean (SN) or House in :(

The words are from Patrick Watson's "The Great Escape", because TV-Shows are my Great Escape, I thought it was very fitting. Furthermore, I can mention that the background is from Germany, Sans Souci where I was this summer. Sans Souci is french and means "without trubble" (or something like that).

Entry Three
I can't remember a time when I wasn't drawing. I'm not an expert, I'm a total amateur and I know it, but I don't care. I love it! In many ways, it's a better outlet for my "artistic impulses" than Photoshop. Sitting down with a pencil and being compleatly in control, no-one else in the world (OK, Anna's very often there making sure I don't break any legs) with music playing in the background. Drawing is relaxing, and fun. So my third (and fourth you'll see later) entry is a drawing. Now, this I actually made a while back but I like it so I'm entring it. Also, it represents one of my other obsessions - books - more specifically, The Black Magician Trilogy (read them!).

I have no idea why I'm enering this... It's not even a finished drawing, but I scanned it and had fun with some colours and stuff (don't tell my English teacher I used that word...). It was supposed to be a magician or possibly Lestat and ended up as a Greek God... Wierd... Anyway, if anybody has any suggestions what I should do with his left hand (the one he's looking at), give me a PM :D Oh, and no, the clothes are not historically accurate, almost, but not really...

Now I only have one obsession left...

Oh how wierd Signe posted a drawing right before I did. They are so lovely!!
Okay my second entry is a drawing/painting. I drew it first onto a large piece of carboard and then went over it and painted it in both watercolors and acrylic paint. The painting itself is of Julie Winters with half of an injured rabbit face. Why, I'm sure you are asking. Julie Winters is a comic book character from my favorite comic series The Maxx by Sam Keith, it was also a very brief and overlooked series on MTV's Oddities in the 90's. The reason for the half Julie and half rabbit is that as a child she found a rabbit that had been run over and put it under her bed and tried to make it better. Her mother found it and put it out of it's misery, but regardless. The rabbit became her spirit animal and spirit animals are a really big part of the series. ANYWAY. I LOVE this comic, I love this character, and I love painting.

Entry five
My way to long ramble about my obsession...
I know, you're getting bored with me :xd Anyway, this is my last real obsession... Music! I've had so much trouble trying to show my love for music, I'm still not really happy with the outcome... I can't live without music. I would probably fall into a horrible depression if I was ever deprived of music (I can't comprehend how Beethoven must've felt...). People who know my art has probably noticed that I almost always use lyrics for my text. And that I can't be said to have a "narrow-minded" music-tase, because I don't. (Let me just say The Beatles, The Killers, Outkast, The Cure, Marilyn Manson and Wagner...)

More to the point. I used some truly fab images of The Hives (great band...) during one of their concerts. I love the way you can see Howlin' Pelle's movements and the intensity of the drummer. You can see how "in" the music they are. I used a Joss Stone lyric (Music) because it fits so well it's scary. I also really didn't feel for another wallpaper. It's such a "standard-form", and nothing about great music is standard. So I just took some measurements and went with it :) Oh, and I hope to do at least one more music entry, because I have so many ideas... You really got me, I guess inspired is the word, with this challenge!!! Let's all do a :3party: for Wendy (that smiley's dance and my own dancing are scary similar...)

I'm obsessed with tragic love - like that of Buffy and Angel - and beautiful design - very much like the outrageous beauty of the films of Baz Luhrmann. So I decided to combine both of these obsessions into one :)

Entry One: Dollhouse

http://wm.taste-of-honey.net/images/thumbnails/dollhouset.jpg (http://wm.taste-of-honey.net/images/dollhouse.jpg)

I'm really excited by the news that Joss Whedon's making a new series. With Tim Minear. And Eliza Dushku. Excuse me while I have a temporary relapse of giddy squealing (the manly kind).

Okay. I didn't just want to do an entry on something I was already obsessed about like everyone else, so I've made one on Dollhouse. Not an episode has been filmed, or a script written, but I can still feel the seeds of an obsession sprouting. Also, I wanted the coolness of being the first person to post up a Dollhouse wallpaper at BF. :D

For those of you who live under a rock, here's Joss' pitch for the series:

Echo (Eliza Dushku) [is] a young woman who is literally everybody's fantasy. She is one of a group of men and women who can be imprinted with personality packages, including memories, skills, language—even muscle memory—for different assignments. The assignments can be romantic, adventurous, outlandish, uplifting, sexual and/or very illegal. When not imprinted with a personality package, Echo and the others are basically mind-wiped, living like children in a futuristic dorm/lab dubbed the Dollhouse, with no memory of their assignments—or of much else. The show revolves around the childlike Echo's burgeoning self-awareness, and her desire to know who she was before, a desire that begins to seep into her various imprinted personalities and puts her in danger both in the field and in the closely monitored confines of the Dollhouse.

I chose to pixelate Echo's face because of her lack of a true identity. She's almost like a robot, but I've represented her growing sense of identity with the unobscured part of her face, slowly revealing itself. Also, the pic I found had Eliza's face kinda lopsided, so I needed to do something.

I googled the dollhouse pic.

I've wanted to enter this challenge since it started, it's a great idea because who doesn't love to obsess

Anyway I have kinda weekly obsessions so I had to think about something that for me goes beyond that. The Gilmore Girls does that for me. Whatever I'm feeling this show makes me so giddy I love it

I wanted to show them as I feel they are, always having fun, joking around in a beautiful place. And then the quote summed it all up! :)

Love, Love, Love this challenge - obsessing about one thing or another is my LIFE! I've never tried anything like the techniques involved in these two pieces before and it was quite an experience! I hope to get a couple of other entries fnished by the deadline (One of them is the most complicated I've ever attempted, so I really hope I finish it in time!), but here are the two I have finished.

I just fell in love with the movie The Devil Wears Prada. This is the story of my career, without thundreds of thousands of dollars in designer clothes, of course! So I took an official movie poster and made it into my own. I've watched this movie at least 50 times and haven't tired of it yet!

Awesome entries, everyone! Seems Photobucket is being cranky right now :cutecry: - if my links still don't work tomorrow, I'll try again to fix it!

P.S. The more I looked at my 2nd entry, the more I hated it - I'm going to rework and repost!

And I did rework and here's the repost:

Ok second entry is inspired by the only reality TV show I watch, So You Think You Can Dance. I love this show, I love dancing and some of the performances over the three seasons have been amazing. I've made several music videos but I wanted to challenge myself to making a wall. It's very hard to capture movement on a piece but my favourite dance is a story, so I worked with that.

It's Heidi and Travis doing Mia Michael's Park Bench (which won an emmy!) I hope you can see something in it :)

So here's the inspiration for this entry...

(Scene: Tesco supermarket, Loraine is buying S2 Bones on DVD. She takes it to the checkout)

Checkout Operator: Ooh another Bones fan - I love this show!
Loraine: Me too, been waiting ages for it to come out on DVD
Checkout Operator: I love him, (points to David Boreanaz on the cover) I've been watching everything he does since he was on Buffy
Loraine: Me too, he was the reason I started watching Bones in the first place
Checkout Operator: Yep, definately one of the sexiest men on TV at the moment
Loraine: Totally!

Okay enough of the cheesy skit, but the point is, this little conversation with a stranger reminded me that if there's anything I obsess over it would be David Boreananz. I love the fact that he's gorgeous but not conventionally so (like for example Brad Pitt or Jensen Ackles) - his skin is a bit pock-marked and he isn't baby-faced, but that makes him more accessible and manly. Also, I have this thing for his hands, they're so strong, but elegant as well (hence why there's a background shot in the piece that includes his hand)

Soothing

(It's a weird size as I've recently bought a new laptop with a bigger screen and this is the first piece I've done that actually fits it properly. There were no upper size restrictions in the rules, so I thought it a perfect opportunity to try out the new screen size!)

Awesome challenge :D

My first entry is of one of my biggest obsessions at the moment, Shia LaBeouf. I absolutely adore him, I think he is one of the most talented young actors around and the fact that he is gorgeous helps too :redshy:
One of the things I really love about him, besides his acting abilities, is the way he is with the press. He is always honest and he never hid the fact that he got into acting when he was a kid, because his family needed money, and acting looked like a quick and easy way to make some.
He also openly admits to smoking and drinking when out partying and generally having fun, without having to end up in rehab

Anyway, I was reading through some quotes made by Shia and I really loved this one, so I wanted to include it in a piece for this challenge.

Second Entry

I have waited for this movie to come out since I first heard about it and now it's finally coming out this Friday. I've been dying to see it, so that can be my obsession. And also Rose McGowan in the movie. With the gun leg. Second obsession entry is for the movie Planet Terror, from the Grindhouse double feature.

I wanted to go for quite a comic book look for this piece. Since Robert Rodriguez also done Sin City (another obsession :p) I wanted to include that somehow. I didn't want to go all black and white with a little bit of red in it, so I went for the comic feel instead.

Text: My own (I don't believe they said it in an episode.

"Weeds!" Whenever I say that on Monday nights I have my "Weeds" fix, most people mistake me for a pot-head. However, contrary to popular believe, I am not. My "Weeds fix" refers to my watching of the brilliant TV show "Weeds" on Showtime. Mary-Louise Parker is amazing, as is Elizabeth Perkins and other supporting cast members, and the show is one crazy roller-coaster in every episode. Right now the show's third season is coming to a close ( :( :cutecry: ) and my love for it all is still going strong.

The piece, in itself, was purely experimental, honestly. Everything that was done to it was done just because I thought to myself "Hey, Heather! What would THIS look like? Or THAT?" and out popped this little nugget. I really wanted to capture the craziness of the show and how fun it is.

And who knew that Sxc.hu has such a wide variety of marijuana stock images to choose from?! I certainly did not!

So. Obsessions, I have many. Many upon many. So many that I'm starting to think that I'm obsessed with being obsessed.

So here's my first obsession (and quite possibly the longest running).

Art:Rosie O'Donnell (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v113/mindylynn/roro.jpg)

Why I'm obsessed:I've just always loved her for as long as I can remember. She has a grace that isn't typical these days. She is able and willing to speak her mind no matter the consequences. She has her own obsessions and she doesn't mind people knowing that. She's real and flawed and she would be the first to tell you so. I've always felt a connection to this stranger/friend (her word). I read her blog everyday and I post questions at times. I look at her photos and watch her family grow. I see her struggle with fame and fans. I learn from her and because of her.

Ok, this about my ever lasting obsession, Buffy The Vampire Slayer.
This is not a promo piece, it's an episode piece. I actually show my obsession through Spike in the episode Crush. I picked the scene where Buffy finds the "altar" Spike made for her.. Which in one way or the other I had. And I wrote my own words "You're my obsession, Buffy".

Ever since I was a young girl, I loved Grease and it was probably the first obsession I remember having and I still do. I soo wanted to be Sandy and have a super cool boyfriend like Danny.

I decided to focus on the scene where Sandy is at Thunder Road watching Danny race and she decides that she's gonna change herself to be with Danny. No more wholesome and pure girl...bring on the sexy chick in the skin tight trousers:) I know that caps aren't the best but I decided to give it a bash anyway.

Here's my last entries - I did PM Wenj a couple of days ago asking if there was a limit on the number of entries and she hasn't had time to respond, so if I've entered too many, just let me know and I'll delete some. This was an awesome challenge idea! P.S. Wenj answered "knock yourself out!" No limit - yahoo!

Now, some explanation (the fun part for me!)

I'm sure it's common for you members that make a living using PS (lucky dogs!), but these walls are the first time I've used my RL as subjects. It's easy to not care when you ruin Buffy's face with color or a bad filter, but a little weird when it's your sister (or yourself)!

Anyway, these three items not only use techniques I've never used before, it's the first time I've used my real life family (which is where the obsession part comes in) as the subjects of my pieces!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v124/cinderela/500Angels.jpg

Obsessed by Angels (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v124/cinderela/1024Angels.jpg)

This turned out better than I thought it would! I've never created anything before that wasn't cap based (same for the following two items!) I gathered a stock image from www.imageafter.com (http://www.imageafter.com) and XP's standard wallpaper with pictures of my grandchildren - the angels, of course!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v124/cinderela/Wedding500.jpg

These next two items I'd LOVE, LOVE  feedback on, because I'm actually thinking of giving them as framed Christmas gifts, if they are good enough! In this one, the flower girl on the right grew up to be the bride on the left and the flower girl on the left is the daughter of the bride on the right. Since the weddings are obviously decades apart and one of the photos old and faded, coloring was very difficult, to say the least! Stock images again from www.imageafter.com (http://www.imageafter.com)

Love is a Circle (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v124/cinderela/WeddingLarge.jpg)

And finally, the last one is just called It's All In The Family -

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v124/cinderela/WeddingsNoTag500.jpg

Mods, if this is too big, let me know and I'll resize - I just realized that it's 500 WIDE, but TALLER than 500.........it's a weird size.

Obviously, the weddings of my family -a great gift for my mother, if I get positive feedback. I know the texture is a little heavy over some faces, but again, since the weddings span a couple of decades, the coloring was very hard to match. The textures are so old, I can't remember where I got them - if they are yours, PM me and I'll credit you immediately.
All In The Family (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v124/cinderela/WeddingsNoTagLarge.jpg)

My current obsession is Dean's deal and the way it affects Sam who reluctantly accepts Ruby's aid. So basically, I'm overthinking the Sam/Ruby dynamics :D Yeah, I know... Talk about weird, huh?

Anyway, the piece revolves around Sam's agreement to let Ruby drop by now and again because she holds him in line with the promise of saving Dean. The glass orb holds Dean's deal with the Crossroads Demon and symbolizes how easily she could either break the pact, or destroy Sam's hopes of ever getting his brother out of the deal. Time is looming behind Sam, practically pushing him to accept Ruby's help. He's desperate, and he needs all the help he can get, from anybody willing to lend a hand. There's also the chance that Ruby -with her demonic lies and empty words- could lead him to hell, hence the doorway to the "inferno" behind her.

*sigh* I really have weird obsessions...

I almost missed the deadline.., Had trouble deciding on what to do for this challenge, I like a fair few fandoms but for the past year or so now my obsession has been Doctor Who. I love the concept of the show and its characters. It's been the one of the main fandoms I've obsessed about since Buffy and Angel and while I enjoy alot of shows, This has been one of the main shows I can't miss. I also wanted to do a piece for my obsession of Science Fiction shows but didn't chance to make that one :(.

I tried a style for this piece that I wouldn't usually attempt because of thinking of how bad it may turnout. So theres a few new things I've tried mainly different colors and more stocks/textures.

I was really tired when I wrote this so if it doesn't make any sense let me know :).

First off, my apologies for taking so long with the awards! I had the best of intentions on getting them done before the holidays, but was unable. So thank you all for your patience! And thanks to Nikki as well, for closing this challenge as things were extremely crazy!

So first things first. Thank you to everyone who entered! For taking the time to look at yourself and taking the first step...admitting you have a problem! And then taking the next step and expressing that problem in a beautiful piece of art that due to the extremely obsessive nature made me want to re-watch several shows. So to extend my thanks to everyone, for taking the time to make such wonderful art:

http://blacklagoon.ohstatic.net/bf44awards/participation.jpg

Now, how does one judge an obsession? Well first off, I just find those that I go 'Hey! I love that exact same thing!' So for those, I grant you, the Huggable Awards (in no particular order).

Next, those pieces that truly caught my eye for one reason or another, I give to you the OMFG! Award (in no particular order).

And now, for the top 6. These pieces again stood out to me, however, for these I had other criteria as well. For example, a different style or a refined styling. So for these pieces I saw something special that set them apart in some way.
