View Full Version : Sexiest Moment in Buffy History

This is a topic I've seen raised months ago, but it was fun and it's not like people won't have new ideas.
I submit the following for consideration:
-- VampWillow and VampXander draining Cordy in "The Wish"
-- Buffy doing the sexy dance for Xander and everyone else in "When She Was Bad"
-- Faith-as-Buffy getting Spike worked up in "Who Are You?"
-- the HSB from Buffy Season 8 "The Long Way Home, Part III" (please spoiler tag any discussion if you want to argue for this one)
-- Faith and Xander in the reflection of the TV in "The Zeppo"
-- Willow and Tara in Xander's dream in "Restless"

Buffy's dance in "When she was Bad" was a definitely good one
I will add:
Faith and Buffy dancing in "Bad Girls"
Spikes "oh God no" dream in "Out of My Mind"
Final scene in "Smashed"
The "that was hot" moment in "Potential"

Uhh...lessee, I'm not so good with semantics, I'll have to work with a vague definition of "sexy"...
Buffy's reaction to Angel biting her in Grad. Day, part 2?
Tara with the poem in Willow's dream (Restless)?
Anya's straightforward approach in whichever s4 episode it was when she appeared in his basement and he spilled the cranberry juice?
I can't think of much here, but I'd say the Willow and Tara in Xander's dream was rather stupid. It was just showing how little Xander understood Willow and Tara's relationship.

Vampires are sexy. The biting is always about the sex.
Anya propositioned Xander by disrobing in "The Harsh Light of Day".
I wasn't looking at the scene in "Restless" for much meaning in the thread other than Alyson + Amber + vaguely slutty outfits = hawt.

So, any scene that includes, implies or anticipates sex is sexy?
I'm not arguing here, just don't really understand what we're working with.
Anya propositioned Xander by disrobing in "The Harsh Light of Day".
Thanks.

Oh, ok. So, another definition we could use would be "scenes that make you want to have sex"? That would merit a null set from me but I'm still not quite sure what we're working with.

I don't remember that.
From the transcript of Potential:
BUFFY
(walks out in front of the girls) Come at me, (Spike raises his eyebrows and smiles a little) full speed. (to slayers-in-training) He needs to kill to live. That tells you everything you need to know.
Spike growls and lunges at Buffy. She ducks, and he ends up lunging face-first into a headstone. He falls to the ground, lying flat on his back, and Buffy straddles him, holding one hand to his throat and pointing a stake above his heart with the other.
BUFFY
(to slayers-in-training) Instinct. Understand his, but trust yours. You were chosen for a reason. (Spike groans softly, to Spike) Are you OK? (lets go of his throat)
SPIKE
I'm... fine. (tries to sit up) Couple of ribs ain't quite set right since— I'm fine.
BUFFY
Lemme see. (lifts up his shirt a little to inspect his ribs)
SPIKE
No, it's just—
BUFFY
(sweetly, concerned) Spike. (touches his skin)
SPIKE
(reaches for her hand, holds it) I'm gonna be OK.

(still taking notes) So, we're supposed to, like, make out with them or something?

Not really, but Graduation, Part II was a pretty explicit sexual metaphor to begin with, what with the missionary position bite and Buffy's shivering legs.
What about Buffy coming on to Xander in BBB. That was a sexy moment. And Xander being a real gentleman, saying how this was not what she wanted :)

I still don't know how he didn't look down when she put her leg up on the step. He is a much better man than I would have been.

I'd classify that as hilarious more than anything else. Buffy fussing over Spike's ribs a little too much was unintentionally funny, and of course, Molly's line at the end clinches it.

No, it's Jame's Marsters great looking abs that clinches it!
1 - I agree with this one - when Faith/Buffy tells Spike at the Bronze she could "ride you until your knees buckle and your eyes roll back" and "squeeze you until you pop like warm champagne". Whew!
2 - Spike going for his lighter in Buffy's jeans... *gulp*
3 - Dead Things - Spike "feeling" Buffy on the other side of the crypt door.
4 - Dream Scene from Dead things - love how he kisses her shoulder...

I think it's a little sexier earlier in the episode when Buffy is mildly coming on to Xander, when it is all still meant to be completely plausible. I love the "play your cards right" line.

I think I"m going to have to go with the 'sex montage' near the end of the episode Touched in Season 8. Especially the Willow/Kennedy and Faith/Principal Wood parts. Very risque, very hot. It made me uncomfortable to be watching it with my mom.
KingofCretins

If I was picking from "Touched", I actually thought it was Xander and Anya. It was so... desperate and wanting. I think they were the two that were being most honest with why they were hooking up, and that made it kind of hot.

Yeah, I will agree with you on that one. When I was thinking of all the scenes I had seen on Buffy I really did try to think of other non-Spuffy scenes (really I did;)), and that one was one that I considered.
I liked the scene before when they are talking in the kitchen and Anya makes the comment about everyone else having sex in the house. Although they had had the breakup sex this was different. Especially since she perished in the battle the next day.
I was trying to think of a Ruffy one I remembered... It's not their first time together and it's not the episode where have sex the entire time. Not the Faith/Buffy one either. There's one in between all that... Does anyone remember the Ruffy scene I'm talking about...
I will add - although I know many don't like it - the Spuffy scene at the Bronze is pretty good. Without all the manipulative prattle, it is really hot when he reaches down to pull up her skirt... There are also several parts of the dailies on that one that are even hotter than the ones they chose for air.
My one comment though as I watched them film the scene - why couldn't they pin SMG's skirt up just a bit higher so that James didn't constantly have to reach down so far! :D
KingofCretins
02-06-07, 07:25 PM
Side note: Where does one find all the dailies people keep referring to?
I can't think of any on-screen Ruffy (or SMG/Blucas) sex other than "The I in Team", "Who Are You?" and "Where the Wild Things Are". But, I think Buffy's dream in "Hush" is pretty sexy when he lays her on the desk and says that if he kisses her it will make the sun go down.
I also think the scene in "The Pack" is kind of sexy when HyenaXander tries to seduce Buffy (in a very Spuffy-ish manner).
Harmony seducing Spike in "Harsh Light of Day" is very sexy, though.
Dracula taking his bite out of Buffy.

Side note: Where does one find all the dailies people keep referring to?
YouTube.com ;)
You can usually get what you need by typing the episode name and dailies. ("Wrecked dailies", "Gone dailies")
Warning...
Watching the dailies sometimes takes the mystery of the episode away for me.
However, it can also give you a clue as to how much work actually does go into a short 7 minute scene.
It's interesting too. Actors forgetting their lines or lines that were dropped from the episode (those can be quite interesting...). Comments they make to crew or cast members - funny or not. Or even scenes that were dropped because the Joss/writer's just decided they didn't want them in there.
Also, I don't suppose "cut information" from dailies cannot be considered canon either.
Hmm... Those don't seem to be it. But you have to admit there was some good stuff in there (once Blucas got his hair fixed... ;) )
I also think the scene in "The Pack" is kind of sexy when HyenaXander tries to seduce Buffy (in a very Spuffy-ish manner).
HyenaXander was pretty sexy... It's that confidence thing going on.
Harmony seducing Spike in "Harsh Light of Day" is very sexy, though.
YES! Why didn't I remember that one! LOVE the panther crawl!
Dracula taking his bite out of Buffy.
Yes... My Vampire love all began with Drac taking the bite out of someone... (circa Fright Night)

Hmmm...yeah, I'd have to say Spuffy had the sexiest scenes on Buffy, though overall I think Angel had more sexy scenes than Buffy did (I mean, b/t Angel(us)/Darla, WILAH (who were seriously the champions at hot and sexy scenes--"Take them off. No, not after your meeting, now!" "Shut up, Lilah!" "Make me!"....I think it'd be funny to see a "sex-off" of sorts between them and Spuffy, the only Buffy couple that might give them a run for their money....), WITW, and so much more....no contest!).
But yeah, when Riley lies Buffy down on the desk in her dream in Hush, and when Xander and Anya have sex frantically in Touched is hot as well....as is Spike watching Buffy in the Bronze for the first time in School Hard (which I guess is also a Spuffy scene, though it falls before they actually get together, so I thought I'd mention it separately). I actually found the Willow/Kennedy scene in Touched to be too much, but I'm sure others felt that way about certain Spuffy scenes as well....

He wanted to kill her, so, yeah: Spuffy ;)
It was kind of hot though, but I thought it was mostly for more semi-suggestive Buffy/Xander dancing :)
I thought the way Cordy was kissing Xander in "Dead Man's Party" was very hot, when they were trying to ignore Buffy. Hard to believe they never slept together (we assume they didn't, yeah?)
For Angel hotness, I'd say "Waiting in the Wings" and the scene in, I think, "Supersymmetry" where Fred crawls on top of Gunn... yum. That and the Lilah/FakeAngel go on Wesley's desk.

It's specifically mentioned that Xander and Cordy never slept together because Faith was Xander's first. Looking back it is kinda odd that X/C never did it, mainly because Cordy was heavliy implied as being sexually active in Buffy and in early Angel as well.
Though I would say my favorite is still probably the Sexy Dance from WSWB.

Speaking of dancing, how about Spike and Dru at the Bronze in Crush. I hate that it happened. (The whole episode pretty much makes me cry. So not the way Spike.) But it was definitely hot.
KingofCretins
09-06-07, 08:14 PM
It was hard to find anything that wasn't hot with Spike and Dru. That very first scene with them, when they put their foreheads together and turned to face the Anointed One was very sexy.

The scene with Dru after he kills the Chinese Slayer is a particular favorite sexy scene of mine...love how she sucks the blood from his finger...

I don't know how I forgot that... wow, that was tawdry. They totally did it with that poor dead Slayer on the ground behind them. But, yeah, it was hot. On "Angel", I think it was pretty hot when Angel and Darla had sex basically on (still human but insane and terrified) Drusilla's lap.

You crack me up KoC! :rotf:
Ahhh... The Vampire days were the days... *sigh* That was a great scene - poor demented Dru she missed out on all the fun! ;)
Now I will venture into the realm of Tara and Willow... The scene in the dorm room where they use the Rose Crystal is very erotic. Love the movement in their arms and hands - very graceful.

One of the most sexiest scenes I think is when Xander is in them. :hf2: All the scenes Xander is in is a sexy scene. Sorry Xander is GREAT! and I good looking god he is. So I would have to say the most sexiest scene would have to be every scene Xander is in. :hf2: :hf2:

When I first saw the Buffy/Spike sex in Smashed (It was Smashed wasn't it? With the falling wood?) I was about twelve and found it the sexiest thing in the world. I think sexual tension is more sexy than the sex itself, on Buffy anyway. Let's put it down to a good character dynamic. So all the tension I always saw between Buffy and Faith is still a turn-on. Not to mention the are-they-going-to-kiss-ness of early Spuffy.

Huh. I just felt sorry for Buffy. To each their own I guess. That scene was a lot to process, really. If you look at Buffy's face she also looks in pain, angry and depressed.
I'm nominating the end of "Under Your Spell" from OMWF. I still can't believe they let that be aired, but it at least it wasn't as cheesy as the rest of the song.

The moment (during Smashed) when Buffy pulls his face to hers for a kiss, that is possibly not only the sexiest moment on Buffy, it might just be the sexiest moment ever televised. The tension was just so strong...my stomach still flips every time I see it.

They actually say Joyce is "out of the woods." This is when they're dancing after Joyce's operation was successful. Buffy asks Riley if he's planning to seduce her, and he says "Always." Then they have sex, and Riley gets up in the middle of the night.

Oops - wrong sexy scene!! That was a while back - HOWEVER - I think that is the RUFFY scene I was looking for!!! I'll have to break out the DVD again.
No, the Willow/Tara one is the one where they chant something about "the river flows through me...something, something..." It's very beautiful.

I've got a couple of other nominations -
I've always thought that Joyce and Giles in Band Candy was very sexy...and yes, I've been called weird before.
And, IMHO, Faith and Angel in Enemies was totally hot!
But I can't argue with those that are putting Spuffy in Smashed at the top - the only other scene I can even put in that category is Anya and Spike in Entrophy.......lust at its finest!
Willow's Tara

redrevo-Which scene of Under your spell are you talking about? I didn't see anything wrong with it
I can't believe nobody mentioned Faith dancing in black leather clothes, that's pretty sexy, I agree about the Willow/Tara scene in Restless as well (In xander's dream), hmm can't think of many that haven't been mentioned, didn't Willow try to seduce someone once? (Not Vamp Willow, the actual Willow, Oz's/Tara's/Kennedy's Willow)
vampmogs
19-06-07, 08:18 AM
Willow tried to seduce Oz twice. First in Amends when she believed having sex with him would mend their relationship after her affair with Xander, secondly in Wild Things when she tries to sleep with Oz to mend their relationship after her fears about Veruca. Interestingly, Willow believes sex will solve all problems
I wouldn't say either of these scenes were particularly sexy to me, although in Amends it was hillarious to watch.

Willow brushing Sappho's poem onto Tara's back in the borrowing from "The Pillow Book" in "Restless."
And, yes, the last scene in "Smashed", as long as it's coupled with the moments when Spike persuades Buffy to stay, just before he blows it.
And the scene that offends most and remains most controversial: the balcony in "Dead Things", going where I don't think even HBO had gone before . . .

The end, in the bedroom, if you listen to the lyrics very carefully and watch Tara's face...then they cut to Xander saying "I bet they're not even working." That entire scene/segment of the song was one huge innuendo.

I could tell it was Greek, but Joss says it's Sappho in the commentary. Someone on the Buffyology website has probably done an article, I'd bet.
The Pillow Book is one of my absolute favorite films, except the thing STILL ISN'T AVAILABLE in widescreen, which is insane since it's the one film in English that actual is rendered as a sort of critical visual text of itself.

Man, you sure are silly and naive sometimes..
of course there was pain.. that's what Spuffy was all about.. Lust, pain, and the animalistic side of sex. Desire. However.. to:
A. Feel bad for Buffy
B. State that in this moment she is in depressive state? Yeah.. moaning and wincing in euphoria.. I feel bad for her.
C. When did you ever see a spot of anger on her face?
If all of these were even the case.. then the entire point of the entire season six Spuffy arc would cease to have a point. It was killing Buffy to know that the only time that she enjoyed to live.. the only time she felt alive was when she was knocking boots with Spike.
I'd say the hottest scene in Buffy history would be the entire Dead Things opener.. without a doubt.
Props also go to:
The ending of Smashed
The HSB Panel
The Out of My Mind dream sequence
The Bangel Grad. Day scene
Once More With Feeling "Under Your Spell" bedroom scene
Despite it's ickyness.. I'd have to admit that the Willow/Kennedy sex scene in "Touched" is pretty damn hot.
EDIT: Wow.. for such a bad episode.. the entire entire sex scene in Where The Wild Things Are is very very sexy.

Also having to be mentioned is the one cut from "Rest In Peace", as Buffy starts for the door, and Spike goes on his knees in front of her, "You know/you've got a willin' slave/and you just love to play the thought/that you might misbehave" -- and his eyes slide down right down to . . . and the look of shameless ecstasy on his face, as he's so close & yet so far . . .

End of the episode:
http://youtube.com/watch?v=Si02dmkTg6I
If you watch it, Buffy kisses Spike to shut him up, then pushes him across the room. This is what I'm talking about.
A. If Buffy is so depressed that she can only feel anything from her previously-sworn enemy, yeah, I do feel sorry for her.
B. Did you see the entire fight? The entire episode? She has to have a verbal spat with him just to validate herself, and it doesn't work. Again, she's kissing him to shut him up - she doesn't want to hear more about how she came back wrong, she doesn't fit, etc.
C. 00:00 - 00:36.
If all of these were even the case.. then the entire point of the entire season six Spuffy arc would cease to have a point. It was killing Buffy to know that the only time that she enjoyed to live.. the only time she felt alive was when she was knocking boots with Spike.
And this is why I feel sorry for her. Every minute she spends with Spike makes her feel some sort of happiness, which makes her depressed that the only thing that makes her somewhat happy is being with Spike, then she goes to Spike because of the depression...It's a vicious cycle, it hurts Buffy, therefore not only do I feel sorry for Buffy, but I hate the cycle.

Thanks.
I perfectly understand why you'd feel sorry for her relationship wise.. yeah it was killing her inside. An unhealthy relationship is never good.. and I totally agree with the idea of it being a "vicious cycle." However, deep within this vicious cycle there was still certainly a bond that they had. Buffy wouldn't have been sleeping with Spike if she still didn't enjoy his company sometimes. The opening scene in "Dead Things" is a perfect example of this. She jokes about how she's going to leave when "her legs start working again," she compliments Spike, stating "You got the job done yourself." She is obviously, whether or not wanting to believe it, is enjoying herself to an extent. Thus, when she realizes that she is, she comes to a sudden stop and starts to become depressed. Hell, there were even some boyfriend/girlfriend vibes being thrown, notebly in "Older and Far Away."
However.. to state that you feel bad for her while she is having sex...? That's a little strange. Considering in "Potential" how she points out that Spike's pad was "comfy..", I don't think anyone, let alone Buffy was in pain or depression during the sexual moments.
Anyhoo.. on another note.. I know this is very gullable of me to ask, but..
At the end of "Gone," Spike states, "hey that's cheating..." I never understood what he mean't? Is she doing something.. particularly with her lips?
Well for me the sexiest BTVS scene ever will always be the end of Smashed! There was so much foreplay between them in the eps prior that Buffy and Spike actually having sex was like an explosion, for them and for all of us Spuffy fans out there (also visually of course with the house falling down etc.). :D I absolutely love that it is Buffy who kisses Spike first (and in mid-sentence no less), there is a hunger and desire there that just gets me every time I watch that scene. I love that we can hear the sound of the zipper, it makes it all the more real. The best thing for me in this scene though is the absolutely shocked/surprised look in Spike's eyes when Buffy mounts him, which is quickly replaced by even bigger desire. There is an intimacy between those two that's really great and that you feel you can almost touch. I love all Spuffy sex scenes but this one is my favourite because it has such a great built-up (although all the sex scenes in Dead Things are very hot as well). :D

I think we're having a misunderstanding here, I'm talking about the moment Dorian's Kitten mentioned (the fight and kiss), while you're thinking of the very, very end. Sorry.
At the end of "Gone," Spike states, "hey that's cheating..." I never understood what he mean't? Is she doing something.. particularly with her lips?
I hate to say this but probably...Spike's looking down and somehow I doubt Buffy would have a reason to tuck the sheets properly or something. He's probably saying "cheating" because he's just asked her to leave and she's using her invisibility as an "unfair advantage" of some sort.
...made me think of gamers who are always going "WTF HAX" or "camper/cheater/hacker" really.

She's doing something very dirty that cannot be talked about on network tv. :D I love how they can get away with it because she is invisible.

LOL! This scene cracks me up every time! :D I love how the writers found a way to cleverly include it in the episode without really spelling out what exactly it is that Buffy is doing. ;) But then again, it is very clear from the dialogue and Spike's look down (at least for most us, it seems).

I don't understand.. I clearly stated that this question may come out naive sounding.. because I never truely knew if what I thought was happening was truely what happened. Yet, you criticize me by asking my age?
I'm seventeen years old. Why does this even matter?

Most of the time, I really think that the big sucking thing of vampires is sexy. Some of them are really intense namely the Vampire Willow & Xander draining Cordy's blood or Angel and Buffy at the end of season 3. It's sensual and there's a lot of sexual tension in these scenes.
I also adore the Willow/Kennedy scene in Touched, the licking of Kennedy's neck and all, my god, I'm always impressed that this scene has been shown on a rather family network. it's quite hot :D

I wasn't criticizing. I threw the emoticon there because emotion and sarcasm is hard to relay over the internet. Don't take offense.
But as for what Buffy was doing in that scene? I asked your age because I would want to tell a twelve year old what was going on there. The scene was written so that the adult viewer would clearly understand what was happening. Just think Buffy messing around Spike's nether regions. :D

LOL...at the whole Gone conversation...
I think there were quite a few very sexy scenes in BTvs..
Obviously, the ever-mentioned end of Smashed was hot as hell.
I also thought (in a perverse kind of way) that Angel draining Buffy in Graduation Day was pretty sexy, too.
Heck, I thought Anya coming onto Xander in The Harsh Light of Day was sexy, as was all of the sex scenes in that entire episode when you think about it.
Faith as Buffy coming onto Spike in Who Are You? at the Bronze.
The Balcony scene in Dead Things - pretty sexy also.

Has everyone seen the original opening scene for Dead Things that was cut because it was too censored for television?
Wow. That tops everything.
By the way.. KoC I am very surprised you haven't mentioned the library scene in Bewitched, Bothered, and Bewildered. Whoa.. Banderlicious.

Wow.. for such a bad episode.. the entire entire sex scene in Where The Wild Things Are is very very sexy.
I second that - I was never a Ruffy fan - but, damn! That scene was hot, hot, hot!

Yes, that vamp lust is oh so sexy. And Dracula and Buffy especially.
I'm still lobbying for Spike and Anya in Entrophy - just nothing like pure lust!
But, still, I would be forced to put Smashed at or near the very top. Not so much for the actual sex action itself - but for the way they just LOOK at each other! Wanton desire never looked better!

Wow: I love Buffy's expressions in that scene. I didn't think it was that graphic, but maybe the censor's more easily shocked then me :p The angle they've shot it from is great though...

As a Kennedy partisan, I was waiting till someone else brought up the scene :D --
Spike & Anya tho' never struck me as very sexy, since it was alcohol induced; there was no real draw between the two.
Also, a scene with no sex at all but which is incredibly erotic -- the concluding scene of "Beneath You", piercing, haunting, the alarming depth of hunger & susceptibility & torment in both of them.

I'm sure Marti would have had Spike make the rounds through Willow, Dawn, and Tara if there had been more time before the season was done. I didn't find the scene sexy, particularly, but definitely found Emma Caulfield sexy :)

Haha.. Marti bashing... why does everyone hate her so much?
I really don't find the "Beneath You" ending scene sexy at all.. extremely not sexy. Beautiful. James Marsters' best acting on the entire television series. But tears rolling down someone's face and beautiful romantic dialogue doesn't make me think "That's hot."

Mainly for transforming every male-female relationship in the Buffyverse into some sort of warped rape metaphor, or worse, rape fantasy. Right up to and including the creation of the Slayer itself.
Here's a random sexy moment -- Oz and Tara looking very intimate in Willow's dream in "Restless".

Sexiest scene in the history of Buffy...gotta be the end of "Smashed". That is the sexiest violent scene and it rocks. No other scene is like it. Other sexiest moments are:
Faith (as Buffy) turning Spike on and down in "Who are you"
When She Was Bad sexy dance

I agree completely. Some runner's up for me were:
- Buffy & Angel's "first time"
- When Buffy forces Angel to drink from her in Grad Day 2
- Buffy & Riley in "Where the Wild Things Are"
- Spike & Anya in "Entropy"

Technically, it was a "two-liner".
The sexiest moment? Definitely Angel drinking from Buffy in Graduation Day, part 1. Ever. After.
Even SMG stated a couple of times that it's the most erotic moment of the show, and was surprised the producers let that on TV screens for us all to see.

Faith and Buffy dancing in "Bad Girls"

I'd say the sexiest moment as to be Buffy/Angel in Graduation Day II or Xander and Faith in The Zeppo.
Is it weird for me to say that Faith straddling Xander as she tried to strangle him to death is very sexy to me as well? :s I guess not seeing that I found Angel drinking Buffy's blood sexy as well

Faith's encounter with Xander in "Consequences" is very sexy right up until she grabs his throat.
"The Zeppo" was probably sexier, though.

I didn't find VampWillow sexy I'm sorry to say, so two of them really didn't amp up the sexiness for me either. Something about her makes her unattractive to me, although I must admit she was rather sexy when she was torturing Angel; I seem to get off on the toture :s
However, if it were VampBuffy licking Buffy's neck; that would have been hot!

I was never a fan of the Spike/Anya sex scene. Although funny because James dated Emma some.
But yes - I know exactly what you mean Ravy about the "Beneath Scene". it's not an "in your face" sex scene, but it's hauntingly romantic. Spike telling Buffy in his "halting" speech why he went to retrieve his soul. That beautiful line - "Why does a man do what he mustn't? For her. To be hers."
I'm sure Marti would have had Spike make the rounds through Willow, Dawn, and Tara if there had been more time before the season was done. I didn't find the scene sexy, particularly, but definitely found Emma Caulfield sexy :)

Alway a favorite of mine! Here you can see more chemistry displayed between Mercedes and James (who also - briefly - dated) than Emma and James. Harmony irritated the "p-willies" out of Spike but they were hot in bed!
