Challenge 37: Made Of Bricks

first challenge here, so starting of with a simple one. It's basically a lyrics challenge with Kate Nash's album 'Made of Bricks'. Basically just use any lyrics from her album and make a piece of art with how you interpret those lyrics.

Hello! I did one so far :)

Entry 1 - Foundations

Guess which song I chose? I've heard it before, so I chose Foundations and used it on the Buffy/Riley relationship because Riley is trying to hold onto Buffy. Holding onto their foundations. Pretty simple piece that I'm not so proud of :( Well, I made it, so what the hell!?

I absolutely love Kate Nash and was excited about this challenge, even though it was difficult finding scenes to match the lyrics. I settled on Booth and Brennan (which looking at your banner and avatar I'd guess you are a bit of a fan of too!) and how they're denying their feelings to each other but deep down they both really know that the other cares.

Have to say I umm'd and ahh'd about the fact that it's so simple, but in the end decided that sometimes less is more and went with it.

I'm only really familiar with the song Foundations (getting the excuses in early LOL) but had a trawl through the lyrics and plumped for the Pumpkin Song. Couple of lines in it reminded me of Spuffy season 6. Choose some caps from Smashed/Dead Things. It's about the fact that Buffy didn't really love him then (if she did...but that's for another thread) but she needed him physically. So here's my effort.

The song "We Get On" inspired me some spuffy art and those four verses decided me on the scene. Spike hidden declaration during Once More, With Feeling, he sings "Let Me Rest In Peace" but he wants the exact opposite of course, I thought that part of Nash's song fit the moment.

Entry 1

Okay, so I was re-reading the lyrics trying to see if some inspiration could hit me and finally some did! :2party: This piece is a little spoilery for the season 3 finale of Veronica Mars, but not really, no major plot info or anything.



For those who don't watch, Veronica and Logan have a very rocky relationship. In the end of this season he is desperately still trying to protect her and hear her say she loves him. But, she is still holding strong that they are over :(

It's about House and Chase relationship, they have verbal sparrings all the time, and House always wins as the older and smarter one, while Chase smiles. They remind me of Snape and Harry somehow on Potions :)

Entry 2

When I was reading through lyrics I came across 'Play' and knew I had to do a Profiler piece. It's one of my favorite shows and since it had just come on DVD, it was a perfect fit.

For those who aren't familiar with the show, Jack of All Trades is a serial killer obsessed with an FBI Profiler, Samantha. Everything is a game of cat and mouse and he loves his game. As we never see his face, he is just sort of an idea...looming in his rooms, plotting and planning, so hints the no straight out 'Here's Jack' wall. It's a little more....abstract. But, I was very pleased with it none the less :)
